I’d go with the XGIMI Halo+ [https://amzn.to/3H8j6CS](https://amzn.to/3H8j6CS) its portable for the van, sharp for craft patterns, and still bright enough for backyard movies.
We currently have this one https://www.bol.com/be/nl/p/xgimi-horizon-smart-projector-beamer-harman-kardon-2-x-8w-luidsprekers-chromecast-1500-iso-lumen-dolby-audio-bluetooth-dts-h/9300000044603293/?Referrer=ADVNLGOO002013-S--9300000044603293-PMAX-C-22290424073&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22294182655&gbraid=0AAAAAD5OnmPlILNzP11NiqlX2MtiWrlqW&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi9rJBhCYARIsALyPDts1akWALTyWymsIadPHF43_jL_Kkimu6EWjVmg1IzPJ8DNfdxi53CIaAuGMEALw_wcB But we have also had the Halo+ (is think) before that. We are verry happy, this thing runs Every day for hours on end (im partial insomniac, so spend most time watching shows and movies on Plex). This thing is great
You only bought one portable projector (the XGimi) here. The first projector you bought only ran off a power outlet. It was cheap, and there are a million variations of these cheap no-name models. The XGimi was a really fine model. Not as advanced as some of the better models, but it was designed to run off of an internal battery, and it easily packs into a bag and travels with you wherever you go. Dim, yes, but truly portable. The last projector you got is a lifestyle projector. This is a very hot category right now. XGimi has their Horizon 20 series. Valerion has the Visionmaster series. Epson has their... No, Epson doesn't have any lifestyle models, just a few portable(ish) models. BenQ has lifestyle models. JMGO, Nexigo, and others have lifestyle models. The quality of the autofocus and other features can vary wildly between these lifestyle models. Some install them in their theater, and forget about them. Some want good integrated speakers, others don't care. Some demand a really good streaming operating system, others don't care at all. Glad you are happy with the Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro and that it meets your needs.
I own a jmgo n1s 4k for a week now. And i have to say iam very impressed! The beamer i had before was the Xgimi Halo + and i need to say there are worlds between them. But i have a problem and maybe you can help: I connect the jmgo with my pioneer vsx-329 so that i have the sound on my 5.1 system. But the sound lags. it stocks and i dont know what the problem is.. with my TV ARC is working fine.
It's tough to find a portable option in this price range that you can use during the daytime. In the afternoon and afterwards is more what you're likely to get for your budget, I think. I have both the XGIMI Halo+ and planning to get the new smaller one Mogo 4 - i beleive those two are among the best you can get in your price range.
I had a solid 1080 led projector before and now I have jmgo n1s 4k, the difference is noticeable and worth the money. Do not buy wanbo projector(cheap unreliable), halo + also quite outdated both on brightness and contrast. Formovie s5 is fantastic for brightness, color and contrast but it’s less sharper than halo+ and many other projector (Google difference between 0.23 and 0.33 dmd chip)

I don’t know if anyone still remembers the model, but it was an Epson EH-TW480. According to my Amazon account, I ordered it on August 16th, 2012 [the epson](https://preview.redd.it/duokb91rpddg1.jpg?width=4608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63f3a76f34c3a16fecf7c0ace741b5580ab69dc2) I had it for years before switching to a BenQ projector—some 1080p projector with 5,000 ANSI lumens. It was the brightest projector I ever owned. That was around 2018–2019. So I spent about 7 years with traditional projectors. And then everything changed. The start of my post actually wasn’t correct, because when I really think about it, my very first projector was a tiny €150 projector from eBay. I think it was HP. It was terrible. I returned it asap and then went with the Epson. In 2019 (or 2020, I’m not sure), I found out about the XGIMI Halo. Around that time, XGIMI released this ad: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UahPcS07sTU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UahPcS07sTU) And yes, it’s an ad—but it summed up perfectly what the Halo changed for me: a smart system, ease of use, and great specs. (That said, the evolution with the Halo+ was needed, and it was the best thing that ever happened to the Halo.) Before the Halo+, I had a PC in my setup, and later I added a Xiaomi TV box. But the PC was still there for games. The Halo+ made all of that unnecessary. [From the epson](https://preview.redd.it/mf6zaritpddg1.jpg?width=4608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f60b6b189325f56a18a7a14592e552caa156b37) The tricky part is brightness: the Halo+ is about as far away from 5,000 ANSI lumens as we are from the moon. But it only took me a few days to realize that the device itself was way more useful than the 5,000 ANSI lumen projector. I used it a lot more, and I used it better than the BenQ before. [i seemigly did have another compact projector before gimbal projectors.](https://preview.redd.it/zp0picrtqddg1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be8a770ba7889dfe05f3dfed0f4225b4797cc090) I’m not a “perfect cinema” expert—and neither is my girlfriend. She learned a lot about projectors from knowing me, and she’ll never be able to watch at home on a 65-inch screen again. While people here will tell you about black levels and all that stuff, at some point the ease of use just takes over. These days I’m rocking a XGIMI Horizon 20 Max with all those nice features like lens shift and optical zoom. But I’m not owning it because of that. I don’t really use those features at all, to be honest. I’m now back at around 5,700 ISO lumens, and I couldn’t be happier. For me, there’s no going back. Some brands, like ViewSonic (not sure if that’s a German thing), tried Android/Google TV but failed. BenQ did too. Regular brands are—in my view—only playing catch-up with XGIMI, JMGO, and more recently Dangbei. Since the release of the Aura, we’ve been using an Aura, and since last year we’ve been using an Aura 2. The Horizon is in our bedroom. The only area where I went with another company was travel: JMGO changed the game with the ready-to-take-with-you JMGO N1. It comes in a case, which is super handy—except when it opens by itself. They’ve revised the design by now, so it can’t happen anymore. Still, I think XGIMI saw that concept and thought, “We can do that—but make it even better,” and brought the XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser Outdoor Set to life. It combines a laser projector (there are plenty of discussions about its ups and downs on Facebook, and I don’t want to sugarcoat anything), a tripod, and a screen. For me, that’s the perfect travel bag. I don’t use the MoGo 4 in my normal life, but when we’re on a ski trip, I always take it with me. There is just no other company that thought of a bag that includes everything: the projector and the whole projection setup. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: they should make a 100-inch—or better, 120-inch—version of that screen. Keep the design, just make it bigger. That’s all that’s needed to make it even better. All in all: companies like XGIMI and JMGO shaped the projector market into what it is today. I wouldn’t even count Hisense in the same category, because they’ve been in the TV/projector market for a long time, and they aren’t really like XGIMI, JMGO, and Dangbei (at least in my view). I also tested a Valerion VisionMaster 2 Pro, and that’s a solid device too—and it keeps the spirit of the product experience we’re talking about. I don’t know if this answered your question, but I sure hope so. That’s my projector story. :)
the horizon 20 max is the brightest projector I ever used in my scenarios. I am one to use a light meter, i admit to having a ALR screen by now in combination with the projector. but the picture is lightyears ahead of the jmgo n1s ultimate what projector do you use on a daily basis?
i think thats caused by brand loyality due to the positve expierence with the very first projector. with time, you get branded wall mounts, mounts, tripds - and at somepoint, you're just in the ecosystem. like with my camera, I was all panasonic one time and didn't think i can switch because i was so used to it, but then i switched to sony and don't want to go back anytime soon. :)

Hello, we got a "celexon Professional Plus V2.0 Akku" we use a halo+ from xgimi with it, and it was infront of a wardrobe for a really long time. the best thing about it, is that you neither need an outlet nor an free space. you don#t need to play for the power cable. i have the screen for 4 years now (same goes for the projector) and we charge it twice a year. you can see it in action here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcqiZcQ3fXI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcqiZcQ3fXI)
I think XGIMI Halo+ would also fit your criteria, It is also on sale right now and costing around 500 euros. I have XGIMI MOGO 2 myself, but Halo+ would be even better
For retro gaming a solid 1080p option is the XGIMI Halo+, it’s bright enough, super easy to set up, and has pretty good built-in speakers
