Think of not only gaming, HDR, lumens shmumens but maintanance as well. if you buy a projector as per your example - prepare to replace the lamp every 1-2 years depending on screen time. I'd steer you toward LCD or laser projectors. I personally have XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector, 2200 ANSI Lumens, it has gaming mode and ultra fast gaming modes. with these projectors the screentime untill issues is 30k, lamp 15k. At the same time I never owned a laser projector but I believe these are best for short throw distances. P.S. the XGIMI recently released a new projector and I heard people praising it. as for myself - I have this projector for 2 years and 0 issues the only inconvinience I got is that I can't just install steam remote play onto the projector, I believe that's due to it having 2 separate boards one for android and second for projection which is responsible for gaming at low latency quoted 18ms so HDMI gaming only, the other possible inconvinience would be netflix app not available but I love my jellyfin, cloudstream apps and to read r/Piracy they got some fun articles there. r/budgetprojectors • 4K Gaming Projector Buying Advice ->We currently have this one https://www.bol.com/be/nl/p/xgimi-horizon-smart-projector-beamer-harman-kardon-2-x-8w-luidsprekers-chromecast-1500-iso-lumen-dolby-audio-bluetooth-dts-h/9300000044603293/?Referrer=ADVNLGOO002013-S--9300000044603293-PMAX-C-22290424073&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22294182655&gbraid=0AAAAAD5OnmPlILNzP11NiqlX2MtiWrlqW&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi9rJBhCYARIsALyPDts1akWALTyWymsIadPHF43_jL_Kkimu6EWjVmg1IzPJ8DNfdxi53CIaAuGMEALw_wcB But we have also had the Halo+ (is think) before that. We are verry happy, this thing runs Every day for hours on end (im partial insomniac, so spend most time watching shows and movies on Plex). This thing is great
r/projectors • Halp! Noobie projector buying advice please (UK) ->Being realistic, you are going to have problems dealing with any ambient light in the room with the price point you are at. A model like the Nexigo Trivision Ultra is more in line with where you would want to be, or a BenQ HT2060. The XGimi Horizon is a nice model, but isn't super bright and will need a dark room to operate the best. With ambient light, you will have a very low contrast ratio. You want to be aware of the throw distance as well.. r/projectors • Best home cinema projectors for 700USD? ->You could get a xgimi horizon s which is bright and good for gaming and 4k and probably would be my choice and a lazer mixed led based projector with 25000 hours lifetime Epson 4050 if you care for black level and lens shift etc But its a bulb and only last for 4000 hours Ive also seen short throw projectors at this price point on eBay and those should have long lifespan and are better for smaller rooms My personal choice would be the xgimi as its easy to mount and looks pretty good for the cost, i’d check it on ebay from the actual seller who sells a refurbished version for 850$ and a new one for 1100$
r/hometheater • PROJECTOR HELP!!!! ->Good thing about such content is their bright colors so even with some ambient lights it will do fine, at least for those 1500 lumens and higher ones. If you plan to only watch in the dark then you can afford to lose some brightness. You need to know your throw ratio and the screen size you want for brightness level. 4m gap, imo can go to 150" but projectors can get expensive for that size lumens. Imo get ust and alr screen if you can. PQ will never be as good as tv, hence best is to get the biggest tv you can afford. Projector is only an option due to large tv being expensive or can't fit the door. Xgimi horizon 20 for less than $1.2k is a good basic starter. Or get those cheap projector and use a cheap grey alr cloth like this: https://youtu.be/po60aU4Iifw
r/projectors • Everything I need to know before buying projector that would be used mainly to watch Anime? ->Less than 1 year ago I bought the xgimi Horizon Pro 4K, was super impressed by build quality and thought it‘s a good start. ($1100) also the picture quality was OK. I would like to upgrade to an even better image. -hisense C2 ($2200) -JMGO N1S Ultimate ($2200) -BenQ TK710 / TK710STI ($1500 / $1800) -BenQ X3000i ($2300) Or wait for the Xgimi Horizon 20 / pro ($unknown as not available yet) Use: 80% movies/shows and 20% gaming in the future (GTA). Which one would you get? Will the horizon 20 pro be similar to the x3000i? Or is a BenQ TK710/sti an upgrade enough?
r/projectors • BenQ vs Hisense vs Xgimi ->I had the same situation and went for the xgimi horizon pro 4k 1 year ago. It‘s been an amazing starter projector for me. Now I am looking to buy either the 20 base or 20 pro. I can recommend xgimi.
r/projectors • What projector do you recommend on a $1000 budget? ->Hi, Really interesterd in your feedback too. I actually own a Xgimi Horizon Pro (my eighth projector but the first 4K PJ at home). Coming from JVC (X30 in France) and then BenQ W1120 (my two last 1080p PJ), I wanted to taste the 4K. I knew that its contrast is weak but this Xgimi has other strenghts. Now, I'm torned between changing again for a new PJ or getting a new big TV like TCL 98" or Hisense 100". If I stand with projectors, it won't be a laser one because 1/ the speckle 2/ the rainbow effects... I'm sensitive to the RBE and see a lot of these with laser projectors. I've been to a demo of the Hisense C2 Ultra and I got an headache after half an hour in addition to the RBE. So I think these kind of projectors are definitely not for me. I've seen Ekki Schmitt's review (cine4home.de) of the BenQ W2720i on youtube and it seems to be a very good choice with accurate colors. The only backdraw should be the brigthness. With 1300 to 1500 lumens after calibration, you are limited to a 3 meters width screen (which is already nice). Because of the dlp chip used in this BenQ (0.47), the contrast is not as good as with a 0.65 chip but Ekki Schmitt said in his review that the dynamic contrast was about 3000:1 ratio without "pumping". So it should be very usable. If it's true, this BenQ could be a bargain. Very excited to read your feedback about it...
r/projectors • I've just ordered a BenQ W2720i... ->Like you I have a Mogo 3 pro. In my opinion if you want to upgrade you should go for the Horizon series always by Xgimi
r/projectors • Semi-Portable Low Black Level Projector ($1000 budget) ->Honestly I think the XGIMI projects are the best bang for your buck they offer the best possible picture quality + higher lumens. At a lower cost to you and from what I found from my own research they have the most packed feature set. The new horizon series comes with 240hz, IMAX enhance, Dolby vision, Dolby Atmos, VRR, 3-D, optical and shift, 4k UHD, 3200 iso lumens and more all costing less $1,200 https://a.co/d/0hwTMC3, https://a.co/d/0hwTMC3, https://us.xgimi.com/products/horizon-20
r/projectors • $1500 max projector price recommendations, completely new to projectors ->Xgimi horizon pro 4k $999 US Dollars..on sale now ..sound great and picture great
