"RS20 ultra max" feels like thrice the projector of "Horizon pro". I liked the Horizon as long as it worked it was decent with some ambient lighting and very good in dark room. I was using only the built in speakers as it was kept in Bedroom. Projector was quiet and auto adjustments worked pretty well. Since I placed projector mostly stationery I turned off auto keystone and focus after sometime of usage as it doesn't make it to keep it on if not moving. I was projecting about 100 inch on white wall, with one window covered in about 70% dark curtain. Still it was fine on bright day. Now coming to bad parts : HDMI CEC was working only one way. ie I can control the device connected to projector using projector remote but not the projector using the device remote. I used fire tv stick for all my streaming purpose, so not being able to switch on and off, volume control from firetv stick was irritating. (Hopefully this is fixed in their newer projectors) There was no certified Netflix. Hence I had to use Firetv stick. Color calibration options was limited unlike other brands like Epson and Benq. Android was stuck on old version, there was no firmware update/os updates throughout the period I used the projector. Out of warranty support was unavailable for me due to being purchased from another country for me but that you have to worry only in special cases like mine. Also the spare parts might be really hard to come by in outside market. Design of the cooling system does not allow you to easily clean the projector and it does not come with dust filter. When I opened the projector trying to fix things I found it to be really dusty. So over years chances of fan failure/overheating is imminent if not kept in clean room and regularly vacuumed as they mentioned in their manual.

I would suggest the new Vidda C3 Series and Xgimi RS20 Series. Vidda provides wide throw rate from 0.9 to 1.5 while Xgimi is at 1.2 to 1.5. However Xgimi provides lens shift, 45% horizontal shift and 120% vertical. These models will be on sale tonight, and I will be getting one of them. I don't know if you can get one soon enough during your visit.

Imo bigger is always better so get 150" but Valerion max at its best setting is only 1300 lumens, not really bright enough. 135" will be 83 nits and 150" 67 nits. At those size just get the cheaper Valerion pro2 imo or get something even brighter like xgimi 20 max (3000 lumens)

Throw distance flexibility will cost you contrast. Keystone flexibility will cost you resolution. Wdym brightness flexibility? Pro2 is not as bright as nebula x1, xgimi 20 pro/max, xgimi titan noir Imo if it's not a lot of adjustments then it's fine.

There are no good value projectors for this price on their website. For this amount of money you can set the price alert for Valerion plus as it can hit 950-1000 eur mark occasionally. Check Amazon for that. Alternatively, you are better off getting something from Alibaba. Request DDP shipping and you can get xgimi rs20 for around 900 eur. Or save up a bit and get xgimi rs20 pro max for higher brightness and better lens+ horizontal lens shift.

native 4k doesn't exist at reasonable prices. The closest you can get for reasonable money is 4k dlp pixel shifters. Called true 4k, but not really. Don't know about sealed light parhs. But give the basic xgimi 20 model a look. It is around €1000 black Friday.

Get the 20. It is a significant improvement. 20 pro and 20 max is of course better but also more expensive.

I think all 3 projectors are top tier. You can't go wrong with any of the 3. If you plan on placing the projector on a table, nightstand, etc and not mounting it. Xgimi is the best choice because it has a built-in gimbal (can easily rotate or tilt up and down). I've owned 4 projectors and not having a gimbal was annoying to position the projector just right. I recommend xgimi because: + has built-in gimbal + has auto keystone + picture quality is top tier + bright enough for daytime use + supports 120hz gaming only at 1080p with hdmi 2.1 (at 4k it's only 60hz) + has earc port for connecting a soundbar + runs google tv + comes with carrying case Xgimi costs a lot though. A good alternative is hisense c2 ultra. It's just as good as xgimi and "designed for xbox" meaning it has super fast response time. Only downside to hisense c2 ultra is that it runs Vidaa OS which I never heard before. Edit: Clarified detail about 120hz gaming support.

I am not a shill, just a simple guy that needed a projector, my understanding of the brand is the old business thinking of your margin is my opportunity. Many brands were stagnant with high prices then XIGIMi comes with lense shift, higher ansi lumens and great quality at lower prices, why? Because they are hungry and want a good share of that margin, it is a great projector, anybody that has come to my house has immediately consider buying one based on the quality of the image. Their costumer service is great too. You may hate tha sub, but you might be missing out on good quality, order it via Amazon, if you are not impressed return it.
