You want a canopy humidifier. It purposely takes tap water - and you can pop it into the dishwasher to clean it.

Canopy makes a good one. Most of the parts can go in the dishwasher.

I bought a Canopy, without realizing how gamed the marketing is in this sector. It was essentially a paper filter tower dipped in a reservior of water with a computer fan drawing air through the filter. It worked, but the construction was dead simple for being over $200. And required a new filter every few weeks. And of course, it had a noticeable cooling effect. Then, I bought a Levoit with warm mist option. It had a design flaw where it was very easy to water log the boiler, which caused flooding. I then tried a Dreo and so far so good. It also has a heat option.

Buy an evaporative humidifier like Canopy. It doesn’t create white dust, all the particulate in the water gets trapped in the filter. Worth every penny

Had the Canopy too and yeah the output was pretty weak. For what it's worth I've been running a Venta LW25 for like 2 years now and it's solid - being able to toss everything in the dishwasher is clutch. No fancy features but it just works and stays clean

I love my canopy because it is so easy to clean but it comes with a regular subscription because you have to change the filter.

Ditto Canopy, worth the money. It might be covered by your HSA/FSA if you have one

Have one and honestly it's pretty solid but definitely not worth the crazy price tag. You're paying like $150+ for what's basically a nice looking humidifier with slightly easier cleaning. Got mine as a gift and it works great but I probably would've just grabbed something from Target for $30 if I was buying myself
