I had this one and I recommend it if you don't care about air quality much and have good water quality (or buy the additional filters for this unit). I was using it for my living room and it worked well to make the place more humid relatively quickly. Cranking it up to even 50-60 made it pretty muggy indoors and the air quality horrible. I got an evaporative one also from dreo and I like it a lot more, especially for the winter my plants are doing so much better!!! I recommend using distilled water if you get this, but it should be fine for most applications.

Apt is about 1400 sq ft. Upstairs and downstairs. I believe my furnace is pulling the moisture out of the air. Yes it is working correctly because when in set it to level 3 it lowers the humidity by a couple of more points. I also have the Dreo evaporative model that I mainly use for the bedroom. Overall depending on the outside temp I can get 25-30% humidity upstairs and downstairs. I am in the frigid North East, so we are talking in the 20’s outside at night.

I just did a ton of research and landed on the dreo evaporative wick humidifier. The white dust is harmless, but the bigger issue is your ultrasonic is spreading bacteria if you aren't doing a weekly clean + monthly or seasonal deep clean. It doesn't mean you won't have to do a deep clean on an evaporative wick one, but it's far less harmful for your health to run that instead. Be proactive about cleanliness regardless of what you end up using. But that's unfortunately the result of not using mineral free distilled water

Shit. Help a brother out. What do you think of this one? https://a.co/d/aJ0oFfT Just started using it. Has made a huge impact but don’t want to end up breathing mold in a few weeks.

Last month I bought both a levoit and a dreo. What really annoys me is that there seems to be no device that does neither a sound nor a bright light at startup which makes it really difficult to use automations when used in the bedroom. Apart from that I can recommend both as both integrations do their job.

With my dreo you can turn off the ambient light too. But if you power it off and on again, it lights up for a second, totally blinding everyone in the bedroom. It's not a problem when both are asleep but it's a problem for me since I control the power status with a door sensor.

I bought a Canopy, without realizing how gamed the marketing is in this sector. It was essentially a paper filter tower dipped in a reservior of water with a computer fan drawing air through the filter. It worked, but the construction was dead simple for being over $200. And required a new filter every few weeks. And of course, it had a noticeable cooling effect. Then, I bought a Levoit with warm mist option. It had a design flaw where it was very easy to water log the boiler, which caused flooding. I then tried a Dreo and so far so good. It also has a heat option.

I had an issue with my Dreo it was table side maybe 1.5 gallons. I cleaned it at every refill. One night my bedroom fire alarm went off and the bedroom was full of smoke/fog. Pretty scary stuff. I’m in desperate need to get a new brand but am petrified. Woke up this morning, and my nose was so blocked and still is tonight.
