We use dreo. The base reservoir isn’t the easiest to clean but there’s just a few pieces overall. I like it’s connected to app so if I forget to turn it on after bed time I can just do it from my phone rather than sneaking in. https://a.co/d/1Pp8xkI
Spending more IS frugal when it means a more reliable or effective or cleaner machine and better health or comfort. Just like using distilled water instead of tap in one is frugal despite the increased expense, depending on your local water. Money is not the only aspect of frugality. It’s right there in the sidebar. “It includes time, money, convenience, and many other factors.” If you spend more on a known good-quality humidifier, and decide it isn’t worth it, you can always resell it next season. Or return it within the window. Lowest cost approach? A simple small ultrasonic humidifier that you carry room to room with you and keep close, and a $2 plastic watering can by your kitchen sink to refill it. My mom has a $40 Dreo 4 liter that she shifts from bedroom to living room to craft room as needed. Keeps it half fullfor portability during the day. It’s lasted two winters so far. Don’t use tap if your water it hard though.
I have a couple DREO that I like a lot. One is a big 2.9 Gal and another that’s 1 Gal. They’re WiFi enabled so I get notifications when they run dry. They also have humidistats so I can set my desired humidity level and not worry about it getting too high and causing mold etc..
Purchased a new Dreo ultrasonic off of Amazon. It has a setting to dial in preferred humidity and will adjust output as needed. It keeps my 2000 sq/ft home around 40% despite lots of heat use and very dry air. I do recommend one.
I have a dreo too. It’s fine, wouldn’t mind if I found something better
I bought a Canopy, without realizing how gamed the marketing is in this sector. It was essentially a paper filter tower dipped in a reservior of water with a computer fan drawing air through the filter. It worked, but the construction was dead simple for being over $200. And required a new filter every few weeks. And of course, it had a noticeable cooling effect. Then, I bought a Levoit with warm mist option. It had a design flaw where it was very easy to water log the boiler, which caused flooding. I then tried a Dreo and so far so good. It also has a heat option.
I had an issue with my Dreo it was table side maybe 1.5 gallons. I cleaned it at every refill. One night my bedroom fire alarm went off and the bedroom was full of smoke/fog. Pretty scary stuff. I’m in desperate need to get a new brand but am petrified. Woke up this morning, and my nose was so blocked and still is tonight.
I got the Dreo
I use the humidifier from DREO. I love it! Comes with an app and fairly easy to clean. The biggest thing I’ve found is was you have to use distilled water (or from my Brita in my case). Also I’m new to the harp, should we be using humidifiers in the winter to keep them safe??
I have a dreo humidifier, I like it. I did have it leak once but after some research I think it was user error.
