r/BuyingforbabyFavorite humidifier that’s easy to clean, doesn’t puddle, does the job well, and is not loud

we had the exact same checklist for the nursery (easy to clean, not loud, doesn’t make little lakes on the dresser, auto shutoff) and ended up going with [this everlasting](https://dgwqk2vd43ry.cloudfront.net/?q=IIQW6ZI824) comfort one. it’s not fancy but it has a big tank (we dont refill every night). in retrospect if you get the top-fill version it’s way less annoying to clean bc you can just open, wipe and you’re done. keep it a couple feet away from walls so the mist doesn’t bounce back and make things damp. learned that the hard way lol and run it on the lowest setting overnight because too much mist can actually make the room clammy. we also brought a cheap hygrometer ($10ish) from our local hardware store and it helps a ton to see when humidity’s in the 40-50% range which is supposed to be ideal apparently

I went with https://a.co/d/1pbPYtP . Started with a different one recommended for nurseries that immediately got moldy even with cleaning every day. I did a ton of research- r/humidifiers has a ton of info. I decided that an ultrasonic was the best choice for us, and we use distilled water. I clean it once a week and it’s been great. The distilled water is definitely key though
