Agreed, I also have a Honeywell warm mist, huge fan. If you have an open floor plan, you'll likely need multiple to effectively humidify but they're well worth it. In my bedroom at night I shut the door to trap the humidity. I clean mine every other week, because it makes the cleaning easier, using vinegar and bleach. The maintenance isn't my favorite but I can comfortably get my office and bedroom to 40% humidity and it feels great. Oh, and I run ceiling fans to help distribute and make sure not to place them right up against walls.
r/baltimore • Humidifier for First Floor of Rowhome? ->Not sure why it needs to be those three, I have 4 Honeywell warm humidifier that works well around my home.
r/BuyItForLife • Levoit, Blueair, Turbro. Any opinions on these humidifiers? ->they are fine. If you have the ability to do the steam one its insanely good at getting moisture in the air and cost effective. The hot water loopback ones are pretty good, mine will keep my house maintained if I cycle the fan.
r/Denver • Humidifier for room that actually works ->honestly, you want either a steam powered humidifier if you have the money and forced air to do it, or if you have to get something else, make sure its a HOT water humidifier. The ultrasonic humidifiers are pretty much useless in CO and waste a lot of energy. I have two Honeywell hot air humidifiers that can handle about 1000 sq ft each.
r/Denver • Humidifier for room that actually works ->The ultrasonic "cool mist" humidifiers are lower-maintenance but I prefer my Honeywell warm mist one. It evaporates about 2 gallons a day and I'm still at 25% humidity with the amount of heating going on. The difference between warm mist and cool mist is where the minerals from the evaporated water are deposited. With warm mist (boiling), the minerals stay in the humidifier and need to be cleaned out periodically with vinegar. With cool mist, the minerals turn into a fine with dust as the mist evaporates in the air, so you'll want to vacuum or mop the area near the unit regularly.
r/baltimore • Humidifier for First Floor of Rowhome? ->When I looked into it,\*\*\* the warm mist are the way to go\*\*\*, one of the options leaves a coating on everything because reasons I don't remember and the other style is loud From memory the other options are cold mist and evaporate. You have to clean it out, but what I do is when I go to sleep I just empty it, wipe it dry and let it air dry. Seems to work find for stopping the mold. Warm mist, you can't really mess it up. I have a medium Honeywell and aside from some mild glitches it seems to work OK. They have a large size, wasn't a fan for reasons my senility prevents me from sharing. No filters, easy to clean \[the medium\] Sadly warm mists don't seem available in this small berg in any other brands locally.YMMV I'd love to get one where like a dehumidifer you can just set the level you want, and is easy to use and clean and a decent size but... well like is a vale of tears. My medium seems to keep up with the HRV in Canadian winters ERV, recovers some of the humidity that you are pumping out in the winter. It's a grand thing, but my father before he died picked a HRV, not sure if he knew better or not, but he died 2 years ago soon after he got it... and I don't want to replace it as the HRV works. Get a ERV and get a summer by pass and you be ballin. All the girl, or guy belong to you and you can haz poland or whatever meme culture says these days.
