Levoit works well for us. I have both the manual and the digital one. I have the Bluetooth/app enabled one in my daughter’s room so that I can set a humidity level and run it on auto. I use SO much less water that way. And if needed I can shut it off or turn it on in her room without going in at night. I bought a cheapo on Amazon first that immediately leaked during the night the first night. Don’t make that mistake. Important notes: warm mist humidifiers are not recommended with young children as it is essentially scalding hot water and if it should tip over or leak with them around you could have serious burns to deal with. Whether you have hard water or not, definitely make the annoying trek to pick up distilled water from the store for it. For cleaning purposes alone, it’s worth it. But generally speaking you don’t want to be vaporizing water with various minerals and who knows what else into the air and breathing it.

Carepod Cube One Plus X50V is mostly dishwashable, and the handwashing part seems easy. Also has a self-sanitizing mode. However, it's at least a few hundred $ so as someone who doesn't use humidifiers often (I only got one recently due to dry air symptoms including nasal blood) I'll have to think if I really need this. For the past week I've been using a Levoit Dual 150 Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier. Was not too hard to clean (just rinsing and drying a few components), going to try to skip the white vinegar baths til it's needed. Using only distilled water so hopefully that helps keep it squeaky clean for a while.

Almost any cool mist humidifier will be easy and last well as long as you use distilled water only. Most of the maintenance issues revolve around mineral deposits and distilled water avoids all of that. I have several earlier models of [this one](https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Bedroom-Diffuser-Humidification/dp/B09W21XFS5/) that I've been using for years and they are holding up well.

I love our Levoit ones, we have the ones that just have a knob that you turn for less or more mist. Super easy, quiet, and do the job.

I use two 3-L Levoit humidifiers. They're a great size for a bedroom, they make zero noise, changing the water is a breeze, and it auto-shutoffs when it runs out of water. I generally use it everyday from December through February.

Amazon has lots, looks for a cool mist or ionization one that you can refill from the top, and that doesn't have annoying lights/LEDs. Levoit 3L one is good.

I have a Levoit top fill humidifier. It’s super quiet with an adjustable knob for humidity levels. I used the filtered water on my fridge (personal preference) but think it would be fairly easy to clean periodically if tap water was used.

Been using a Levoit for about 2 years now and it's solid, just don't slack on the weekly cleaning or you'll regret it lol. The top-fill design is clutch when you're lazy about refills

[**I am loving my new misting humidifier**](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dryeyes/comments/1hllzos/i_am_loving_my_new_misting_humidifier/), was well received, so I'm following up with a comparison of the two humidifiers I've been using. (The comparison turned into quite the little science project, as you can see, but increased humidity has made my dry eye symptoms much better, so it seemed worth the time and worth sharing.) **In short, the Vicks steamer wins for me because it:** * Can humidify three times as well (and possibly more) * *Is* ***$13.50 a week cheaper to operate*** (because there's no heavy, expensive distilled water to buy and haul) * Can tolerate significantly less cleaning without becoming a health hazard However: * The hot steam the Vicks emits could be a concern for people with children or pets. * Having to plug in and unplug the Vicks because it has no power switch can be a real annoyance if you have to do it every day. |[Levoit Top Fill](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C2C9NHZW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1)|[Vicks Warm Steam](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000TN7ME?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)|Comments| |:-|:-|:-| |Ultrasonic mister|Boiling water steamer|| |$29.99|$17.98|| |17 watts|I measured about 100 to 300 watts. I’ve tried multiple and I feel like no matter what they get moldy🥲 best I’ve found is the Vicks 3-in-1, it serves us well when emptied and dried daily, and fully cleaned every few uses. Frida baby 3 in 1 immediately got moldy, as did our levoit top fill. But the ultimate winner is a whole home humidifier. We splurged($1000 for install and humidifier) because we have number 2 coming in August and I despise the upkeep of room humidifiers.
