Consider the Levoit Sprout [https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Evaporative-Adjustable-Nightlight/dp/B0DLGDRRXY/](https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Evaporative-Adjustable-Nightlight/dp/B0DLGDRRXY/) \- I now have two of them in a similar sized apartment as you - one in bedroom and one in living room / kitchen. I found that one was struggling to keep the entire apartment at a consistent 35-40% RH - which makes sense as they spec'd for 219sq ft rooms. While they can take tap water, I only use distilled water in them as my water is very hard i.e., very high in dissolved calcium and magnesium minerals, so I can go a bit longer without cleaning them and replacing the wick. One note: the external sensor that comes with the Sprout and must be used if you want to run in automatic mode will read about 10% higher than most hygrometers like the ThermoPro TP55 [https://www.amazon.com/ThermoPro-TP55-Indoor-Thermometer-Touchscreen/dp/B06XTPTG1J/](https://www.amazon.com/ThermoPro-TP55-Indoor-Thermometer-Touchscreen/dp/B06XTPTG1J/) Good Luck!

I use the VeSync app and access it through there to turn on or off and change its color.

I recommend an evaporative humidifier like the Levoit Sprout https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Evaporative-Adjustable-Nightlight/dp/B0DLGDRRXY/ - I now have two of them in a 770sq ft apartment - one in bedroom and one in living room / kitchen. I found that one was struggling to keep the entire apartment at a consistent 35-40% RH - which makes sense as they are spec'd for 219sq ft rooms. For a bedroom only - one would should be fine. While they can take tap water, I only use distilled water in them as my water is very hard i.e., very high in dissolved calcium and magnesium minerals, so I can go a bit longer without cleaning them and replacing the wick. Good luck!

Well not sure what your issue is with Levoit I have 2 Levoit Sprouts https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Evaporative-Adjustable-Nightlight/dp/B0DLGDRRXY/ - and have no issues and they satisfy your requirements except for being Levoit.

I didn’t want to use distilled water, which is an absolute must if you get an ultrasonic humidifier, so I got an evaporative humidifier - levoit sprout.

I am! It haven’t bothered setting up the app but even without it I’m happy with how it works. I love that I can use tap water.

After reading all the reviews etc., I got the Levoit Sprout (single room), and it has been great so far. Really love the top fill, ability to turn off all LEDs at night, the nightlight is actually kind of handy for evenings, and the sensor for auto mode. Top fill makes it easy to fill with a large measuring cup without taking off the tank that then drips everywhere. There’s an app, but I haven’t activated it for fear of future subscription fees. The auto mode with sensor (which I place on the other side of the room) works without Wi-Fi enabled. With my bedroom door closed, overnight it will bring my humidity up from low 30s to mid-40s %. I have also read good reviews of the next step up, their whole-house version which I think is called the 600 or 6000. Whatever you get, don’t get the cheap ones that just spit out visible vapor and coat everything with mineral dust. Those suck and do nothing. I think the one I have is a type called evaporative humidifier.

I would say to just avoid the ultrasonic ones, if you are looking for “low maintenance.” I bought a cheap model from the pharmacy when I was sick, and ended up returning it as soon as I read “must be cleaned thoroughly every day.” Nope.  Another Redditor suggested that I get an evaporative model for my bedroom. I ended up using the database pinned on the Humidifiers subreddit to sort by evaporative models, and was happy to see that there are so many models for smaller rooms too.  I got the Levoit Sprout, but there are a lot of good options out there. I wash it about once a week and it’s dishwasher safe!

Had a few LEVOIT OasisMist that worked pretty well. The warm mist feature is nice, but had to constantly get distilled water to avoid white mineral dust covering everything as it's ultrasonic. This year, just picked up LEVOIT Sprout as it's evaporative so can use tap water. Most evaporative models I've researched have mold problems, specifically in the unserviceable fan assembly as their designs have the fan after the wick, pulling moist air through. Sprout's design has the fan *before* the wick so it *pushes* the moist air out instead. So far so good.

Unless the fan assembly is user-serviceable, I would avoid evaporative humidifiers where the fan *pulls* moist air from the wick. Mold is typically an issue with evap units designed this way. The only one I've found that *pushes* air through the wick is the Levoit Sprout. This design avoid the mold issue developing in the fan assembly completely.

r/HumidifiersLevoit Sprout vs Canopy Nursery

The Canopy has had mold issues in the past, specifically within their fan assembly that's not really user-serviceable. This is due to a design flaw that has the fan *pulling* moist air through the wick rather than *push*. The Sprout pushes air through the wick so the fan assembly will never have mold issues. Get the Sprout. We also moved over to an evaporative humidifier and are happy two months in with the switch. We went with the Levoit Sprout (for our toddler’s smaller room), but this one may be too small for your sqft.

TURBRO. I got the sprout and wish I didn’t. It’s a pain.

I have the levoit sprout and for me personally it doesn’t seem worth it for the output I get and the maintenance. I wish I went with the turbro that just boils steam and seems easier to clean.

I have a sprout and I don’t notice anything. I have not tried the levoit 6000s. I think the steam ones are the only useful ones. Search for reviews on the TURBRO. It’s apparently easy to clean and actually increases humidity.

I got the sprout and honestly I regret it, but I don’t think I’d go 6000. I am starting to think the only thing that can actually humidify the air would be the hot steam humidifiers. I think there is one called TURBRO talked about on here. My sprout runs through water but I don’t see the humidity change in any significant way.

I didn’t think it was that intuitive and the help chat just said “use the app.” https://preview.redd.it/donz0shz40ig1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58d5660eebb24cb20ab6d07f5ee7143f8a249261 Wish I went TURBRO

No problem! I stumbled upon it one day. I just don’t get the feeling it’s doing anything. Based on the temperature in the room, the air can only hold so much humidity. I don’t think the evaporative humidifier fills the air like steam does.

Thanks for update! It truly is a struggle to find a humidifier out there that checks all the boxes. This one is definitely only going to work for my bedroom, while sleeping, but that is my main goal for now since I'm having a sore throat in the AM. Even though ultrasonics put out more humidity, after reading the studies on mice I don't feel great about the idea of pumping all those minerals into the air if I'm ultimately trying to improve air quality. Hence evaporative. What I like about the sprout is that it doesn't let the wick sit in the water (the water is fed in slowly from the top), and it has a dry out mode so it shouldn't mold as easily. Will post a follow up after I've used it for a bit for future searchers!

I still love the sprout for its easy to clean-ness and the humidistat. That being said it doesn't heavily humidify an area, really better for one room like your bedroom or a nursery (which to be fair is how it is marketed). It solved my issues which were due to dryness during sleep, so I'm happy overall. A bit pricy to be sure for how little coverage you get but not worrying about mold and the app connection is worth it to me!

I didn’t find it too noisy at all, especially on the night/low setting. But, I do like to sleep with white noise so to me this type of noise isn’t too bothersome in general. So it’s really hard to say if the 10% is accurate exactly but I would lean towards agreeing with the assessment you read. It doesn’t make a huge difference in the humidity levels but it was enough to help my symptoms. Bc I wasn’t measuring or paying attention to the rest of the house at the same time to compare, it’s hard to say the percentage. I would also keep the door ajar so theoretically adjacent rooms could have been impacted too. But yeah, it takes a while to raise the humidity and the overall raise isn’t that great. I probably kept it on the lower settings a lot to keep it quieter, which is part of the reason the performance was mid. I still ended up feeling like it was worth it to me, since I did feel better! You could try buying from a place that lets you return if unsatisfied, just in case. If you do measure the increased id love to see the data! And if you don’t maybe I’ll remember to be next year, where I live we are heading into Dehumidifier season 🙃

Levoit has lots of purifiers but the sprout is an evaporative humidifier. This is the one I got https://a.co/d/0gZEDXNI
