I used to have a warm mist humidifier and I loved it. Unfortunately I broke it and never bothered to replace it. It basically boiled the water and allowed the steam to escape. It was similar to this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pelonis-1-2-Gallon-Warm-Mist-Humidifier-White-PSU12W1WW/2499213542 Had a cool mist humidifier years ago and I hated it. Misting the room with a spray bottle would probably be as effective. And it grew mold.
