I use mine* on stage and occasionally in the studio so, yes, definitely. I had IEMs for monitoring before I ever owned any for musical enjoyment since the early versions weren't much to my liking for listening to my favorite tunes. *To clarify, I own many pairs and only three of my 64Audio IEMs, A18t, A18s, and A12t, see use on stage or in the studio. I have a bunch of others that are strictly for listening to music and not for monitoring.
Can't hear you with my 64 audio a18t's in
64 Audio A18t. Second best is the A4s if you need something cheaper
Don’t get the universals. Get the custom mold. That the difference between the U18t or the A18t.
A4s is better. A18t is obviously the best but A4s is next best. I doubt anyone in this entire subreddit has used custom IEMs that cost thousands of dollars so they talk out their ass.
Audio 64 A18t. I consider them Balanced. Others have described them as a W profile. Learning how to properly insert them in my ear ended up being more involved than I expected. But once I got the knack, they go in easily and deliver the exact same sound with every listen. No fiddling… ever. The ergonomics is as big a draw to me as the sound. Plus, they are repairable by Audio 64, which cannot be said for Chinese IEMs. https://preview.redd.it/drscoeg7p59g1.jpeg?width=2600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d86b4b2408d3ce10e6a6cd526cb16f783927543
64 Audio A18t. Besides sounding great, it is both customized to my ear shape and my design preferences. I can wear for hours on end in comfort, and it locks into my ear, so I can go on my multi-mile walk every day in comfort with the cable draped down my back to my DAP in my back pocket (I like to walk to DJ ERV - Deep House music - to keep pace). "Ain't no timbre like a tortoise shell timbre", as they say. https://preview.redd.it/clmop617h2kg1.jpeg?width=1721&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98f19a7052c849dfce3a128257a24d206b37302f
I went from the FiiO FH9 to the custom 64 Audio A18t. I no longer look at other IEMs, but did buy my first (and last) headphones. Differences in IEMs at different price points are both real and psychological… but it is the psychological aspect that will rule the day and say “enough with the mental masturbation” and you move on to the next hobby.
Having collected many other things over a couple decades, when I went down the audio rabbit hole after modding an old iPod of mine I started with a mid-tier IEM (FiiO FH9). To prevent IEM churn I then went straight to end game with a custom 64 Audio A18T. Having IEMs built for my own ears has helped dampen my desire to buy more universal IEMs.
I can attest to this but only to a certain extent. IEM in general, especially if it’s just plug and play from the pc for game like valorant somehow does sound confusing to pin point the game sound. I’m not saying the below personal experience WILL WORK, but i personally own a pair own ciem which is meant for studio monitoring and live performances, 64audio A18T. When putting it with my other ones, especially my beloved monarch Mk2, the Ciem indeed come across “better” as i can hear the direction and sound more precisely as compared to all the other iem variation i had. But having this said, i agree with this comment that there is no iem made for gaming or specifically for valorant. I honestly wouldn’t even hold high hopes on the entry level iem either.
the annihilator was used.. i don’t think there are any sets that’s brand new sealed anymore. I went with 64audio A18T. It’s a all rounder daily driver. For critical musical listening session i’ll take the annihilator any day.
I used these for 6 years before I got some custom molded IEM’s from 64audio. IEM’s are insane but expensive unfortunately. If someone’s on a budget the 990’s are a solid option too
Just get some CIEMs from 64 Audio and call it a day.
we've made a semi-open back IEM called Duo, but it has since been discontinued. A very warm tone, with a fairly laid back pinna gain. Something that may interest you is our IEMs that are built with the interchangeable apex modules. You can go from the m20 modules which is almost fully occluded to something like our mX modules which really feels and sounds like an open back when you're wearing and listening to them.
