The biggest difference between my Shure/Klipsch IEMs and Moondrop/7hz (I own Chu2 and SSR and demoed Aria, Starfield and 7hz Eternal) is how bright the modern ones are. Shure (along with Westone) has a reputation for dark signatures and many people don't like them, however in their defense, the filters can be replaced (Knowles BA filters affect the sound) and they respond to EQ extremely well. Klipsch X7i is like a more "fun" Etymotic ER4 to me, it recesses the treble just about right to make it non-fatiguing while keeping the detail and relative neutrality, and does similarly with bass. Aria and Starfield sounded extremely similar (in being V-leaning) but Aria had a wider soundstage. They're basically all-rounders in my opinion, though Aria's soundstage was really outstanding, out of everything I heard it's only second to XBA-A3/Z5 (but these are hard to beat). Treble makes them sound more lively than old BA sets. 7Hz Eternal actually reminded me of Klipsch because it also seems to try and balance between neutrality and the more popular V-shape. SSR tries to achieve "true" diffuse field signature and can get fatiguing but ends up sounding very detailed, and it's impressively "fast" for a single DD. Overall they have different strengths (Shure has insane isolation and build quality and I love how drums sound on them thank to their "speed" and impact, Klipsch is a great all-rounder and smallest of them all, Moondrop SSR has amazing technicalities for how cheap it is) and I can't pick a favorite, though I mostly use Klipsch right now.

Oh, mine arrived weeks ago. For 45$, stock tuning is a bit refreshing from the classic "DD = hard v-shape", after EQ they get real fun. Funnily, i also bought 7hz Eternal (based on looks alone) and stock they sound so bad i unironically auto-EQ'd them to E20 mids/treble + Deuce bass. I saved the EQ in case i get another DD i dislike in future. Agreed, mids and treble are very tastefully done so props to Letshuorer/Aoshida. For double DD it was lacking a bit of bass punch so Deuce EQ solves it.

7hz, Truthear, Mangird, Dunu. Lots of different options at different price points, and every year the tech gets cheaper/better implemented so an $80 IEM at this point is pretty close to a $300 IEM from 5 years ago. Truthear Hexa is my go-to recommendation, has a really natural presentation and good bass.

ZSN Pro X has same build quality as zsn pro, so go for the 7hz. i owned a zsn pro x in humid climate and it died after only 6 months of use

I do. 7hz got less distortions and are easier to EQ. Moondrop is notorious for their bad quality, can't expect anything from $20 iem though. Overall 7hz are a bit better and more reliable.

I love the sound of the Blue 2’s, but I tried the Tangzu Fudu, Kiwis and 7hz - the only reason I’m considering others is because they feel so much better in my ears. But the sound signature has been better on the Truths by far

Hey, same setup here! The 7Hz really sounds great on 'em even without EQ.

While I found 7hz mindblowing years ago, nothing in twice or 3 times the cost of the 10 options ive tried has presented significant improvement. The Zero Reds, on the other hand, caught me completely by surprise, outstanding sound. We all know this is just my opinion.
