"The build quality is amazing"

"The Dioko's are very nice, build quality is great in hand."

"I am not too afraid of damaging them ... provided you don't clog/rip/damage the protective mesh, IEMs are pretty good. I have had three pairs of PMs so far, and since the membrane is so far back into the case, you shouldn't have a problem."

"The Diokos are quite resolving for their price and imo are more detailed than the Hexa and much more detailed than the T2"

"7hz Dioko that made the Aria sound like a muffled boomy mess too."

"The Dioko is a bright leaning neutral. A lot of people find it too spicy up top but I quite like it."

"I have been using my Salnotes Dioko for everyday use for a while now, I travel, often on the move."

"for everyday use, they have enough passive noise cancelation that I have been just fine on a plane with a pair of memory foam tips."

"the fit is ass"

ok, nobody is shilling the planar magnetic enough, so here I am. I have been using my Salnotes Dioko for everyday use for a while now, I travel, often on the move. Like any other pm they can easily be a new gadget conversation starter for sure and look the part. I am not too afraid of damaging them, and for everyday use, they have enough passive noise cancelation that I have been just fine on a plane with a pair of memory foam tips.

I have the Salnotes Zero:2 and Simgot EM6L, the EM6L are ok for EDM (my main music I listen to as well) but separate really well and have tons of detail, so you can hear each synth and sound super well. However they are light on bass. The Zero:2 have more bass but can be a little muddy, I wouldn’t say they are overpowering bassy though. I recently had a chance to listen to the Kiwi Ears Cadenza and the QKZ X HBB. The HBB have crazy amounts of bass that never felt overpowering to me, I really enjoyed them for heavier bass EDM. However, for overall I really really really enjoyed the Cadenza for basically anything and everything. Solid bass for EDM with a surprising amount of detail for a single dynamic driver, good separation, decent soundstage, and it handled every other genre well (I also listen to classical, country, rap/hip-hop, rock, and R&B). I am highly considering selling my Zero:2 and getting Cadenza because it sounds super similar but technicalities are way better on the Cadenza. 7hz Dioko is pretty solid as well if you want to try planar, they sound BIG! It’s the only way I can think to describe them.

Same boat as you. Glasses, etc. still like my HD650. I’ve had various cheaper iems. Salnotes Zero, blon bl05, kz zsn, truthear zero red, salnotes dioko. Favourite for gaming/every day is the zero red, followed by the zero. But it’s mainly a fit thing, I use them with a modmic kimura.

Me too. I have been using the 7hz Dioko over my Logitech headphones mainly due to comfort.

Dioko are not very v-shaped, neither are the Hexa. Both lean very neutral. You probably find them either too harsh in the upper frequencies, lacking bass or generally not exciting enough. You can still go for the Aria 2 which have a nice V shape but the Kefine Klean are half the price and come with a thumpier bass response compared to the much more tame bass on the Aria 2. Not much reason to go any more expensive for V shape under $100 because they're that good, save the money for something else, maybe your next IEM.

I have the diokos. The build quality is amazing, but the fit is ass and the tuning is a bit offensive to my ears.

The Diokos are quite resolving for their price and imo are more detailed than the Hexa and much more detailed than the T2, but depending on how sensitive to treble you are, you may not like them. I enjoy elevated top end but it's quite divisive because of that.

I like my Dioko. The treble peak doesn’t bother me.

The in ear that made me fala in love with headphones in general was the Philips SHE 9000. I had an Xperia Phone back then and I had a blast with those. First pair of proper iems were the KZ ZSN pro with the meizu HiFi Dac, mindblowing for the time. A While later I got the Moondrop Aria that made the KZ sound like trash and Just a bit after I got the 7hz Dioko that made the Aria sound like a muffled boomy mess too. And that went on for a While until I got to the Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE. Now I have my endgame but I still collect cheaper iems.

Spring for a planar in the $100-$150 range and decide for yourself. I have the 7Hz x Crinacle Salnotes Dioko and I think my next one will be the Letshuoer S12. iems in general have come a friggin long way in the last 3-4 years. Love the Focal headphones and have the Elear with Clear pads and the Eligia and like them both a lot. Had the Clears OG but returned them when one channel quit working after a few weeks. Might try them again but the improvement over the Elear with Clear pads is maybe not enough to justify the expense. In any case try a nice planar, I think you will be surprised with the value you can get for \~$100-$150. #

Sgor Luna at below $30 is a great option. Truthear Zero at around $45 (2 DD) is a great starting point. It has plenty of bass quality and quantity (one driver acts as subwoofer, the other handles mids and highs). T10 (single large planar driver) is awesome too, but it isn't great to look at. Planar bass packs a tight punch. It's different than bass from dynamic drivers though. At around $65-$70 (on sale): S08 and Aful Explorer. I've been using the 7hz zero on the road while maining Truthear Zero at home. I have Dioko for when I want brightness and that planar sound. Recently I went shopping for something new and ended up with: 1) KZ Castor Bass (good bass, fun, connector for KZ Az09 pro bt adapter). 2) Waner 2 (to try the new release and for Sancai tips) 3) Letshuoer S08 (expecting this dark planar to be my new main IEM. Also has a bunch of accessories I wanted). 4) Aful Explorer (similar to S08 in sound signature but with different, multi-driver tech). Plus I like its shell design. Have fun with your pick.

I have kz, salnotes, qkz, trn and blon. I'd say my fave is the blon, sound quality and fit is perfect for me.
