i've used akg freebie buds before, they're genuinely incredible for most normal people regardless of price because they have boatloads of bass and a decently tuned upper range based on graphs, the akg bud does seem substantial, IF you're able to reduce the bass/mids to be more coherent and lower the highest registers. The IA500 is exceptionally well tuned above 500 hz, but the issue is below 500hz it's a jumbled mess that will destroy any form of harmony. Most people dont eq/dont like to eq so that's why it's not appreciated much.

Actually, there are different versions. The very first one made after akg was bought by Samsung, I believe was bundled with GALAXY S8. This was great. Neutral and clear. Then the one bundled with the S10. Apparently people wanted bass boost so they did that. Not my preference so always went back to the S8's one. Then I got the Note 20 ultra. And it came bundled with a USB c version. This was utter garbage. Muddy and terrible all around.
