I'm not familiar with the ones you're comparing, but if you want a hard-hitting bass with an clean, non-muddy midrange, you should be looking at the KZ Castor Bass. The Aoshida E20 isn't all that bassy in the stock tuning, it's actually more bright-leaning. It apparently takes EQ very well, but I haven't got around try trying to EQ mine yet. I think it's a bit over-hyped, but it's a decent IEM that's fairly comfortable for a 2DD. It does look & feel more like a $5 IEM than a $50 one though.

It has no midbass though, so whether it's a true basshead IEM or not is very track-dependent. Even the impedance adaptor doesn't add much above 150Hz. Something like the 7Hz Legato is probably better if you want a ton of bass and don't care too much about potential muddiness in the midrange. The Deuce's big thing is being very clean sounding, with a ton of sub-bass, so it has a very "detached subwoofer" kind of sound. To get a true basshead tuning comparable to a consumer-tuned earbud, you're going to have to add a bass shelf with EQ really. For a cheap 2DD that's apparently capable of being a true basshead IEM with EQ, there's the Aoshida E20, but the stock tuning is actually more bright-leaning and definitely not basshead at all. I haven't got around to EQing mine yet so I can't comment on how well it does, but apparently it can take a pretty big bass shelf without distorting. The Legato is also commonly used with EQ and has better build quality, but I couldn't say if it sounds any better if both are EQ'd to the same target.

Hello everyone, I need help choosing new in-ear monitor from the jungle of models. I currently have a pair of Truthear Hola, which I like, a pair of KZ Castor (Harman) and above all, the best from my point of view, a pair of CCA Rhapsody (with switches set to 1000). I love the Rhapsody, but they are big and quickly uncomfortable in the ears. So, I need help choosing new in-ear headphones from the jungle of models to replace the Rhapsody. I mainly listen to Jazz (trios and small groups), voices and classical music. I like the bass to be present and precise, the mids not to be recessed, and the highs to be well defined but not aggressive. I use a Hiby R3 DAP or a Toppinx DX1 DAC with my PC. My budget is under 100 euros. I would like to find a model at least as good as the Rhapsody, but with smaller and more comfortable shells. Thank you in advance for your valuable advice. PS: I already tried the Kiwi Ears Cadenza, I didn't like it, and I listened to the Aoshida E20, I liked it, but I didn't think it added much compared to the Hola.

The Punch is good. For a better Deuce, look for a cheap Aoshida E20. In the budget range, my basshead iems to go: 7hz x HBB Elua, Castor Bass og, Saga Bass, Libra Balanced, KBear Rosefinch

Sadly i don't have the Rosefinch, the others i think in my budget sets are the ones i go for when you talk about bassy boyz, not in any ranking, i love those cheap bangers. But if i want to recommend the best among those, the Elua, Castor Bass og and Rosefinch are the most basshead sets, with Rosefinch being the big cannon and Elua an underdog mini Deuce, the E20 is just a better and cheaper Deuce, lol.

I will share my head-fi signature below (it’s long). I have/had most iem’s that are mentioned. I wanted also to buy the DaVinci but it was recommended not do buy them. For example I like the Ziigaat Arcadia (186,-) more than the Punch (449,-). Prices, and even graphs, don’t tell the whole story. It like someone said, most important question is if you enjoy them. Also Doscinco is very good. Headphones: Fiio FT1, PSB M4U, Corsair HS70, Grado SR60X (rebought). I couldn’t stand the Rosefinch personally, but if all you care is bass no matter what, then you may like it. It has a not-so-popular connector type, which may be important to consider if you do cable matching. I loved the Castor Bass. The QKZ x HBB is not that bassy, doesn’t fit this category. For super punch, E20 on sale is a better performer, especially with EDM & Hip-Hop. It graphs similar-ish with the Deuce. I am curious what other IEMs people recommend.

Yes, the Chu II has a standard 2-pin connector. You can use its cable with the Rosefinch but not vice-versa. It is the same connector the E20 has. KZ uses QDC, a different type of connector, but definitely more popular than TFZ.

If you ask me, my best purchases: - Aoshida e20, Quintet(not on the list, since i gave it away), Pilgrims, Shozy p20, HBB Punch and the Mystic 8(not in the list since its New and im testing). It covers most needs, and it's 1 set of each kind. Missing a Bone conductor but still indecisive of which one.

OFC, I did. They sound really good tbh not like the Deuce maybe 85% of its bass punchiness but IMO alot cleaner at the treble and mids.

Oh yea, forgot. Yep, I love this Bass. Reaches deep in the sub bass, got a proper amount of rumble, and the mid bass slam is hefty. Vocals are clear and not muddied by the bass, maybe a tiny bit, not shouty, and not piercing in the treble, but could be a tab bit much for some ppl. I got used to it though. As a leaning basshead, *click* nice. Ita done very well for my basshead playlist. I can link it to you in dms if you want. Edit: I switch between the aoshida e20 w.50ohm impedance adapter and the Relentless sometimes. The Aoshida with the 50ohm adapter is, Gi-Mungo-bass... with the exception of an alright midbass, but maaaaaan I Tell ya HWut *slaps knee." It's still got clear vocals and clear treble despite the Bass. It can at times muddy the rest of the frequencies a bit, but everything is still very well separated and clear. It's not too sharp too, so you can really turn up the volume for that bone shaking bass rumble. Speaking of volume, Relentless is a low-mid to mid-high volume iem before it gets piercy in the treble. Dunno if I can recommend to treble sensitive ppl. I was treble sensitive, but bit the bullet and got used to it.

My Basshead setup is an Aoshida E20, Moondrop Dawn Pro, with a 50-ohm impedance adapter that I plug into with a spare 4.4mm cable. I recently found out that some laptops have tons of impedance, upwards of 100+ ohms and since I don't have anything over 50ohms, I just plug my E20s into my laptop's 3.5mm jack for a huge bass boost. If you want, you can get a Neutral DAC, or a Warm-leaning DAC with this set up. Bright-leaning can work too if you like a bit more on the top end. I don’t have any other basshead IEMs to compare to, but before I got these, I was eyeing the Juzear Clear, Castor Pro (Bass edition), SeeAudio Rinko, Openaudio Witch Pro, and 7hz Legato. All of those are below $150 USD and have more mid-bass +extension than the E20, but with the impedance adapter on the E20, it can reach a satisfying mid-bass \*pound\* without the excessive midblass bleed. In other words, a cleaner mid-bass pound. Another IEM I’ve been eyeing that seems to have really good bass, but not basshead level, is the TRN White Tiger. I’m very satisfied with these as my temporary endgame basshead IEMs. The bass is huge and deep, and female vocals are nice, forward, and clear. It's pretty much a bass-boosted harman tuning, but with no shoutiness or piercing treble. With the impedance added on, it only affects the sub-bass and some of the mid-bass. It graphs nearly identical to the HBB Deuce, a $250 USD basshead IEM, but I prefer the upper mids and treble in the E20s more than what the graph on the Deuce shows. Basically, the Aoshida E20s with 50+ ohms of impedance sound pretty ####en good... excuse me. I don’t know how much impedance my laptop has, but comparing it to the 50-ohm impedance from my adapter, I think it could be around 70-85 ohms, possibly.

* Results.. let's start from down to top ........ ∆ The Crin Zero Reds.. -Good loudness, meaty bass but sometimes there is something off about it.. like... always.. -With trying every possible resistor: 10 ohms - more balanced bass to treable not enough rumble though, 220 ohms - quiet and clean, 47 ohms - boomy, 150 ohms - kinda quiet and clean, 39 ohms - bassy and kinda loud, 56 ohms - boomy and kinda loud, 82 ohms - bassy clean and kinda quiet, 75 ohms - boomy kinda loud and kinda clean, 15 ohms - loud and boomy, 33 ohms - balanced with good rumbles. -Can take some EQ, a lot of amp -It looks Informative .. ∆ The Aoishida E20.. -I think it competes with HEXA in treble speed and details, especially when the music is like salty twinkles. but just a little bit behind. -Similar openness like how the Tangzu Wann'er is, yet it's unlike it in loudness despite it's only 12 Ohms.. -Really quiet without amp I wouldn't listen to it unless I have to... like if I've got a headache or something.. -Tapping the vents.... results are unnoticeable. -liked how much power it can receive without timber changes.. that where it knocked out HEXA and got louder than it while feeding the kinda same sparkle. -there is a limit to the good rumble, despite Amping and EQ. -2DD, yet no good effect with resistors? -Can take some EQ -Stage is phenomenal.. like.. how could it be this huge? even when taped no changes to stage It looks Beneficial .. ∆ QKZ HBB.. -Louder than the Zero Red ,but kinda less meaty bass however much nicer sparkle, yet the same thing.. sometimes there is something really really off about it even more than the Red. -You can relax listening to it with some kind of music, just rest you back and good night, there you go. -Can take EQ, a lot of amp -it looks a scare and a greed .. ∆ Truthear Hexa.. -Smooth sparkles everywhere. -Stage is like a helmet around your head, yet you can pin point everything. -Fast track those sparkles please.. from left to right. -Do not lose that note, there you've got it. -Did i hear this before? -Why I can't touch the Bass region on EQ it goes from quite deep bass to BRRRFFF -Amp limits -Flip only one of the two (2 pin connector) you get the only beautiful IEM out of phased (kinda limited to Jazz and Classic), stage becomes WIDE like out of this world. .. ∆ Sony MDR-EX800ST -What a name. -Loudest -EQ freak.. (Try EQing it to.. APX SE, Deuce, Sony M9, 24/7 downloading wavelet from squiglink, etc..) don't forget to tune the % of the EQ on wavlet -AMP IT.. high gain please.. BASS ON -Tape the vents.... who did plug in the subwoofer? -Ears became itchy from that shaking. -Its so loud and clear, -Am I here? -should I shake my head? -Can I plant the Hexa inside these 16mm, please fast track the sparkles! -it is getting warm, ear wax is melting. -stage is a huge tall airport lounge, can be reshaped with EQ. quite mouldable. -Nausea? this is enough.. will enjoy them later. -Forget how it did sound without EQ clearly, all the other iems are cute toys to this. let's buy more toys just to see how it grew up oh no, that Aioshida just got close to my soundstage. is that Beryllium in the Aioshida toxic if it gets warm and vapour inside my ear or loses some of its particles flying around my ear canals? it was kinda clear the Sony MDR-EX800ST is still The BEST. then (it's a tie between Aioshida 20, and the HEXA), then (its a tie between the Red and the QKZ HBB) Thank you All! Goodnight.

Great for edm, house, etc. Aside from that, I wouldn't recommend it even for hiphop. My basshead rec under $100 is the aoshida e20 with eq (fatfreq deuce 20hz to 300hz) + ve odo (ve devastator) + tri clarion small.

Just got back my aoshida e20 from loan, and EQ'd it with the presets in jay's video. Before EQ, the mids and the treble were what made this set a banger. With the deuce EQ, I would pick the e20 instead of the 7hz Legato 9/10 times. The mid bass punch is in your face and sub bass digs decently deep.

Nah, I've had it for a bit, and it does not outperform the explorer lmao. But I'm biased towards beryllium plated diaphragm drivers. In my ears, this iem is a few steps below an EQ'd aoshida e20. Though, it definitely knocks out a lot of iems below $30. Just like the ND Venus knocked out a couple kzs in the ultra budget tier.
