Can you try open ear earbuds like the yincrow calf? I really liked those despite being open and not in ear. Only issue was them not staying in the ear and I had to buy ear hooks (like these https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0Ppoh9) Soundstage was decent and they can actually be loud and powerful Edit: my end game ended up open earbuds due to earwax accumulating when using inear for too long I used the ew200, tanchjim zero and artti R1. Tanchjim zero had good soundstage for the price and was neutral. Ew200 was too shouty for games like genshin or star rail (have a lot of high pitched effects), artti r1 is bassy but not overbloated.
r/iems • Best IEMs for FPS Gaming: The results may surprise you ->Havent heard but was also interested in them awhile ago. Though heard it went thru a silent revision not too long ago and it is no longer a bassy set. I also looked for a basshead set and got something else. It has quite mixed reviews but I still deeply love my 7hz Legato. Got it over 1.5 years ago for around $65. For reference, all the sets Ive heard: TE Nova, TE zero, Letshouer S12 Pro, 7hz Legato, Artti R1, Tangzu Fudu, Kz Pr1 Pro. Used to own the Tangzu Waner and TE Hola, but gave them away. If you really wanted bass, cant go wrong with Legato. Artti R1 is still quite warm and bassy whilst still being more detailed and balanced if you dont want to lose much detail.
r/iems • Thoughts on Juzear Clear ->DZ4 is a Dynamic Driver set. It is very lean on bass, and has a warmer treble roll off. Probably not your cup of tea if you like the Chu2 tuning. Also, the S08 is like 200% larger than the CHU2. So dont assume that because they are the same shape they are the same size. They are not. The S08 is significantly bigger. Still comfortable. Just setting expectations. If you like the Chu2 tuning, and want more of that, but in a more detailed and textured experience, check out the Artti R1, its regularly on sale now, and has a very similar tuning to the Chu2. Its regularly on sale now, and is a bargain for <$50. All aluminum construction too. If you want something a little higher in the price tier. My next two recommendations would be the Tangzu FuDu, which has an awesome accessories package of premium tips along with it. Easy to drive Hybrid set with 1 DD and 2 BAs. Next is also a 1DD 2BA set, and that is the AFUL Explorer. Another decent set of accessories, even if not as premium as the FuDu. BUT...it is a little more detailed than the FuDu, and sounds better than its $100ish price tag would suggest. Both of these are 3D Resin Printed IEM's, so...that might not be your cup of tea. But they are very highly regarded. Alternative, if you want something metal, the Kefine Delci AE. I fanboy the shit out of this IEM, but it is one of my favorites. I seem to always go back to it. It is very warm, and engaging, with two tuning nozzles that offer good variation and feel. All metal build, very comfortable. I am in an extreme minority here, but i am not a fan of the EW300. They are detailed. But the sound stage is flat, and details get muddied. And, if you are one of the unlucky few, like myself, Tone Deaf Monk, and JayTis, we all had an issue with the EW300, where it had this weird, almost active noise cancellation feel to them. There have been a couple of other reviewers that have also commented about similar weird interactions with stacked drivers like the EW300. Now YMMV. But generally, the EW300 is very flat, and narrow feeling, and that is about as far away from the Chu2 tuning as you can get. So be forewarned of that.
r/iems • Recommendations for Upgrading from Moondrop Chu 2 Under $100? ->On the budget/cheap end my favorite is the Artti R1. My current favorite energetic all rounders would be ziigaat Doscinco, and Binary Dynaquattro. Theyre not peaky at all, but i wouldnt say they’re relaxed. Theyre just a really nice smooth energetic tuning. Id prob go FIIO FD15, or Dunu falcon ultra for single DD relaxed tuning. I wouldn’t say Kato/Kadenz because it can be a little energetic up top, and no Dunu Kima because it has sub-bass roll that would leave me wanting more. Hybrid/tribrid wise id probably go Aful P7, or Ziigaat Arete. Havent tried Cincotres, but it’s a different flavor of doscinco. The Ziigaat Arcadia and Odyssey seem good too but idk much about them. In this top end of the price range there’s also BGVP NS10 Pro, CKLVX D62, Juzear 81T, and Pula Anvil. However, every reviewers ive seen has pretty much preferred the Aful P7 more over these. For the most part i think these sets might have a bit more bass impact because of their bigger DDs, but they say P7 is quicker and more technical.
