oh ur good drivers for most of them are generally pretty similar just tuned diff. s12 pro, timeless 2, kiwi ears aether, even the cheaper artti t10
I got mine a few hours ago. First IEM and love it. Bass was non existent initially, got the fit right and came alive. Just using a normal dongle and im sure it will be even better with a proper dac and better tips. Clarity is just amazing!
I have a standard H4, and I enjoy the Artti T10, JUZEAR x Z Reviews Defiant (highly recommend), and Truthear Hexa. They're all distinct in their own ways, and wonderful to explore music with paired to the H4.
For first IEM in your budget also agree on the Hexa. It is truly neutral, great definition and clarity, and has a somewhat more reasonably sized nozzle. However, it can be too analytical, and when I'm listening for fun, I rarely go for them. Fun and enjoyable to me is more the Defiant, Artti T10, and Zero Blue 2. I hear the Pure is nice for some, but it is warmer (more bass and lower midrange, less upper midrange/treble). For a first IEM that's lower cost, I like the Truthear Gate. Great soundstage on it, and it's one of the most comfortable iems I own. The Wan'er 2 also makes the list, especially the new emerald dragon edition, but the Gate just hits perfect for my ears.
Hi! I'm looking for suggestions, I recently got the Artti T10 and I really, really enjoy their sound. However, the little protrusion they have on the back (cable housing I guess?) makes them painful to wear for more than an hour or so; and their nozzle is kinda thick for my ear canals. For reference, I also have a pair of FiiO F9 Pro which I find very comfortable to wear for long periods, but they sound too dark and muddy compared to the T10. Are there any IEMs with a sound signature similar to the T10 but with smaller or more ergonomic housing and smaller nozzles? Preferably under US$200.
the zs pro 12 x is the successor of the kz zs 10 pro. They are good IEMs but the t10 is outperforming them. OP since you have a DAP you are able to feed enough energy to drive planar IEMs (t10) so my reco would be to get a T10 with 4.4mm cable, you won't regret it
Any set that sound better than them? After I tried the artti t10, I wanted to try another sets, I like them very much.
Thank you! I love the artti t10, I was looking for a upgrade in the same price range, lol. Seems that isn't one yet. But I will probably get the F1 pro, when they are with a good price.
What cable did you use? I bought lot of cables and all of them start to fail on one of the sides, only the original cable works well. What tips are you using? Anyway, after getting the Artti t10 and nice tips, I don't use the ie200 that much.
I used the Dunu S&S for a while, with the Artti t10 and ie200, they were amazing, till they got a bit uncomfortable. For the ie200 I now use the divinus velvet or the stock ones and for the t10, Tri clarion. They don't hurt, they are very comfortable, it's strange, because most iems hurt my ears or don't stay. If I change the cable for a tripowin zonie, they don't stay very well. The ie200 are very comfortable, but I think they seal a lot better and give me a strange sensation, I can't use them when studying or staying still. Need to try the zombur cable. Depending on the source the T10 can be very fattiging. With the qudelix 5k I don't like them, with the echo nano or my fiio jm21 I love them a lot. I think the Tri clarion also give them more bass and smooth the treble a bit, but isn't for everyone's ears. The ie200 sound more natural, cleaner (with tape mod and right tips). But I found the T10 more fun to hear, they punch fast and the treble (when you smooth it out) sounds good to me. The ie200 sounds "boring", but I think it's my ears adapting.
Artti t10, I want to replace them, but they just works for me. They sound good and are comfortable, using the Tri clarion tips. I will probably change the original cable because it's getting a bit stiff, but they just work.
I mean, for me, they are both warm. I’ve never tried the Portazo, so I don’t know if they’re similar. I have an Artti T10, and those are way spicier in the treble than these two. But Armor is a great choice if you’re highphobic because it’s tuned for that.
Usually, iems are pretty sensitive to eq, so you could always try that before jumping into a new pair. That said, ARTTI T10 or the Simgot EW300’s in a similar price range are both pretty good. I prefer a v-shape signature for rock in general, and these two hit above their price point. There’s also the Kiwi Ears KE4 which I’ve read are tuned to be like listening to speakers, but I’ve never heard them and they’re more than twice the price of the others. I currently run Moondrop Aria 2’s and Moondrop Robin’s (tws) as my daily driver iem’s and love them both, but they’re also a step up in price a little bit (~$100). The Aria 2’s I’m not convinced are upgrades to the T10 or EW300, but I already have them and think they sound great so I’m not worried about it. The Robins as wireless iems are so dope though. Super happy with them. I’ve also found that tips can make a pretty big impact on iems, and both comply foam tips and spring fit tips have made a huge impact in sound quality by improving the seal. All that said, sound is pretty subjective. Sometimes you just have to find something that you like more than you dislike, and be happy with it. It’s an expensive rabbit hole. I’m lucky that I grabbed a pair of Fostex TH-X00’s about 10 years ago that ended my search for headphones by being everything I wanted at a price I was ok with. Even after listening to $1000 Focal cans nothing I heard I thought justified a $600 price increase. They were a little bit better, but not $600 better. To me. Hopefully you can find a pair you’re happy with sooner than later! It’s fun, but as seen on the iem and headphone subreddits, you can end up buying an awful lot of pairs searching for what you want and iems in particular are near impossible to test before buying. Just read reviews, learn what sound signature you prefer (v-shape, neutral, etc) and hope for the best.
