Out of all my iems, the only stock cables I'm using is the moondrop kadenz and cvj aria.
I own a pair of Hexa's and AZ80s. I've just quickly listened to them back to back to help draw a direct comparison. Note, my preference is for Electronic music with some indie, rock and an assortment of other genres thrown in, so I like both a punchy bass level but not at the expense of mid and treble, for versatility, and sometimes I'll switch sets for different genres. I've connected both to my S24 Ultra (don't have my DAP available right now), running Poweramp, with a somewhat bass boosted personalised EQ curve which suits my normal listening preferences. I want to add that irrespective of genre you'll absolutely 100% definitely want to EQ AZ80s because out of the box they are incredibly quiet and might sound flat, but they EQ really well. Overall, I think the Hexas sound quite a bit more detailed clearer than the AZ80's, especially in trebles, but the AZ80s are much punchier without being overbearing and more suited for electronic music. I prefer the Hexa's for anything that's not electronic or that doesn't require that low end snappiness, but they're not a million miles apart in audio quality. It took me a while to find wireless buds I was happy with. My general ranking is as follows (purely sound quality, with some additional comments thrown in) based on everything I own or have owned in the past 3-4 years: 1. Aful Explorer - these are the most versatile of the IEMs I own, my only critique is the lack of soundstage 2. CVJ Aria - these are underrated as I seldom see them here, but they're not far away from the Aful Explorer in performance, not quite as rumbly but a little more detailed 3. Truthear Hexa = Technics AZ80 4. CVJ Vivian - punch way above their weight in sound quality especially for electronic music. 5. Sennheiser MTW2 - sounded fantastic but broke, twice, so I could never recommend in good faith 6. Sony WF??X4 - a sound upgrade on the AirPods, a reliability downgrade (mine broke straight after warranty expired) 7. AirPods Pro 2 - these are just the worst sounding of the bunch I've tried. So hard to get a seal in my ear with and they just feel lifeless. You'd probably want to consider the AZ100's. I've not tested them personally but I understand they fix all the flaws with the AZ80s with significantly improved sound quality.
why not get the aria 2 then? esp if you like the aria for that long. the cvj aria is also similar and maybe better for a comparable price.
Also the CVJ Aria which has an amazing cable that I bought separately (CVJ candy)
