r/iemsI finally got my first IEM! Hooray, but there's a "but"......

My first iems were dita project ms and it was nice and day from Logitech g pro(wired) Even with the dac dongle night and day, tho ofc the dac drive the Logitechs to a point where they sound amazing, All in all I’d tell anyone just get a dac and play with eqs before getting iems and when they do get something mid range like Kara’s

r/iemsBest Overall IEM in 2026? (One & Done)

many shops i go to don't display lower end iems, or a lot of them. and lower end iems are hard to buy second hand, so for me they'd have to compete with iems double the price, because second hand iems are around 1/2 msrp or less dita (forgot the exact model), ulim(almost certainly oem), elysian pilgrim, yu9 que, are worth trying out. none are worth blind buying

Now I’m intrigued by the Nio A notable mention is the Dita Audio Project M. I find this IEM to be a far more engaging sound then the Solaris. And maybe more than the SE846. The Project M may be a giant killer as it does some very unexpected things at only roughly $350. This IEM is actually surprisingly resolving and incredibly tuned. It stages very well, has sparkly extended highs and a tastefully pronounced sub-bass. You can only get so much refinement from something in that price category but it is so well designed that I think it actually competes very adequately at the $1k benchmark. That’s my personal opinion, of course. But the Dita Project M is at least worth researching if you have $350 burning a hole in your pocket.

I have been an avid lover of the Dt1990 pro since it came out. Out of the iems I own, the one that is closest in actual sound is my Dita Project M. I own the IE600, Hype 4, SA6U and OG and MANY others, I’ve gone through a ton of gear and the project M is what you’re looking for if you want the 1990pro in an iem. The zingy treble will be wholeheartedly familiar and the bass is tight, punchy, and digs deep just like the 1990pro. Also of note, just the the 1990pro, the drivers are prone to distortion if you use EQ. You must make headroom if you’re going to EQ. These two are similar enough that I use the same PEQ profile for each. I’d be happy to send you mine on loaner for you to test drive. They are not an expensive set at around $300ish. I believe MusicTech has them open box for $285 with full warranty.

DITA Project M. 10 seconds is all I needed. Just too much treble for me.
