Drop + Etymotic - EVO

Well, from my own personal experience I can only say that my Etymotic EVO ($500 IEM) is perhaps even better than my HD800S ($1500 headphones). I love both of them and the only difference in their usage for me stems from the form factor. The HD800S are strictly for sitting and listening at the desk, whereas the EVO allows for some movement around the house or for listening in bed.

I listen to classical music, mostly orchestral, almost exclusively and I find the Etymotic EVOs fantastic. They sound even somewhat better, albeit a little colder, than my HD800S. I also like the Cadenza 4, but their tone sounds a little off to me. As to bass response, I never miss any bass with any of these. If anything, I reduce the bass with an equalizer in one [particular recording](https://music.apple.com/il/album/mozart-the-symphonic-testament/1464605269). Soundstage and imaging and stuff like that I don't really get. With some other headphones there is a feeling that all the music is kind of cramped and struggling to express itself as one instrument is stepping on another's toes, but I hear none of that with any of these.
