+1 I prefer it over my annihilator and mest mk2
It's the Elysian annihilator
As expected of any hollow resin shell iems but I feel like they're quite high quality. Wouldn't feel confident dropping it though.

Yup. When it comes to treble, Annihilators are on a league of its own. I heard the Hex gets close though but 3x the price + 3x the wait time = no thanks lol I'll probably buy on the secondary market if it appears... problem is they get snatched superfast, just like subtonic storms but I heard the storm and it's not my cup of tea.
Annihilators have the best treble I’ve ever heard. It’s a very sweet sounding treble.
> if I have the FR graph for the Annihilators then I can easily just EQ my Hexas such that the EQed Hexa graph matches the Annhiliator graph This is a super common mistake people make. That does not work. For several reasons: 1. The graphs are smoothed 2. The graphs are not completely accurate anyway 3. The graphs may be measured at different insertion depths 4. The graphs are measured on a simulated ear, not a real human ear and certainly not *your* ear What you actually need to match is FR at the eardrum. Not any eardrum, *your* eardrum. That needs to be done by ear. And that's something hardly anyone actually has the skills to do. So while technically it's accurate to say it's all just FR and you can do pretty much anything with EQ, it does leave out that for the vast majority of people, it's effectively impossible. It's not even something you can just pay an expert do do for you, because they have no way to hear what you hear. What's more likely to happen (especially if you use AutoEQ) is that you'll make any peaks/dips in the treble [worse](/r/headphones/comments/1ivy4u7/how_measurement_error_hurts_eq/).
Budget ones I’ve tried: Arpegear hane (by Topping) - Stage is above its price point, has wider stage than RSV, but then RSV is known to sound intimate Timeless 2 - Default nozzle itself already has pretty wide stage, the round nozzles take it up a notch. There are eartips similar to these kind of nozzles, I believe it’s called the jijuma by lizerlab (from Japan). These things boost stage on any iems Now the kilobucks: Honestly any iems with sparkly highs or great treble extension can give a perception of wider soundstage Letshuoer mystic 8 - Was impressed with the cantor until I tried these, they’re just better in every way. Also prolly the only chifi iem right now that’s worth getting imo, chifi’s these days kinda just copy pasting and following the meta template. Most just differ slightly from each other Icelab prismatica - They’re a brand from Hong Kong. Quirky but really fun V shaped, a lot of bass and treble. Never heard of anything like this. Fun fact: Guy at the store told me the Icelab owner tunes without looking at the graph, explains why there’s nothing like it in the market lmao Elysian Annihilator - No introduction needed. Best treble extension of any iems. Just wow, ultimate endgame. Don’t think you can get it new anymore, heard the founder left the company Nostalgia durandal - Another brand from HK. Similar but everything’s a notch down, slightly more vocal forward
says the cable believer with a shitty and expensive iem at least get the annihilator sorry bruh but head-fi is calling for you! all em golden ears miss you there
a proper good expensive set for normies is the annihilator or grand maestro anniversary. The u12t is annoyingly boring and it's just not that great overall unless it really agrees with your HRTF. And maybe the iems didnt agree with his hrtf/preferences? why would you think he doesnt want to be impressed or something lol.
People have different tastes, also it seems that Crinacle tends to review IEMs from companies he has connection/relation with. Personally, I demoed the Storm and I consider it the endgame refererence (slightly) warm neutral IEM. The Monarch MkIV isn't bad but it didn't feel anything special to me, solid for the price but it didn't awe me like the Storm or Annihilator.
