Based on 1 year's data from Feb 16, 2026 How it works
I’ve owned the a5000 & I currently own the a6000, the rest was their ze3000 & ze3000 sv Bluetooth earbuds that I own
My first iems were the final audio a5000 & was the best decision I ever made now I use the final audio a6000 with a few other iems
I can’t lie that’s insane for 2 months. I remember buying the final a5000 & I used it for a year & a half before I even considered buying another iem & that was only cause I wanted to upgrade to the final a6000 😂
of all the characteristic of the 3 iems you had, i personally feel like thieaudio Monarch Mk2 have all of it except the fit. I personally own the Final A5000(after demo A4000 and prefer the A5000 instead) For Monarch Mk2, some people will argue there’s this lack of bass, slightly recessed vocals. If you have the chance to demo out stuff, go ahead because only whatever that please your ears matters. I’ve recently ordered a ciem from 64audio, it doesn’t really matter about diminishing return. I like what i hear and that’s the sound i like. Not a single iem out there i’ve demo sound the way it is, thus this makes all iem different.. you pay a premium for certain models if that’s what you like
When I first ventured into this class of audio. I was very unsure of the specifics of brands, drivers, tuning, ect... I started with the FiiO JA3s. For the price I thought, how bad could these be. For me they were a good step above my airpods and I had already come to terms with the fact that good audio isn't going to come from a wireless headphone, at least not the level I was looking for. Now I be purchased 4 different pairs of IEMs since then, from $80-$300 and oddly enough I still go back to my second pair which was the KZ Zar. I love them, they're comfortable, the have amazing bass, they don't stick out of my ear, they are overall my favorite. Price, fit, finish, sound, its my favorite. For reference my other two IEMs are the Kiwi Ears Quintet and the Final Audio A5000, both heavily regarded and both sound amazing, but for almost triple the money over the Zars, KZ brings a fantastic value to sound ratio.
Depends how picky you are about listening experience. If you listen music in commute settings, the Galaxy buds will br more practical. If you’re at home listening to new albums for the first time in Hi-Res and like the analytical approach, yes IEMs will be more suited. Depends on the genre as well. If you’re into instrumental (jazz, ambient, IDM), it is imo worth it to spend in the 200$ range for a good pair of neutral cans. I can suggest the Binaryaudio Chopin, the Truthear Nova or Final A5000. All quite neutral (Truthear has a better bass response, Final has higher treble clarity and open soundstage), the best thing would be to try them for a few hours with different sources.
If you care about your listening experience and value music as music should be, then yes, IEMs (along with a good digital/analog source and quality files) are a must. Good music and love for music should ground you in the present and prevent you from doing anything else. If so, then even an entry level pair will be beneficial. Be mindful of what you listen to, what tuning you like and your budget. I listen to bass heavy IDM and jazz mostly, I can’t use the same pair of IEM for both genres. I use the Truthear Nova for its intimate stage, bass resolution and warm mids that work well with digital instruments and synths; and a pair of Final A5000 and its expanded soundstage for live jazz recordings for example. Then you’ll further EQ to your liking. All of this can be done with an entry level budget of around 50-80$, but you’ll wonder why you didn’t invest a bit more earlier when you go beyond the 250$ range, where some exceptional models can be found.
