Of all the IEMs I have, for some reason, the one I like the most is the Aful Explorer. I also have the Kefine Klean, Kefine Delci Ae, Sivga Que, Kiwi Ears Airoso, Lesthouer S08, Simgot EW300, Hidizs MP143, and MP145. All of these IEMs have a somewhat neutral, warm signature, but they all have excellent, very different sounds. I recommend the Aful Explorer, it's the best without a doubt. I won't tell you about the Hidizs MP145 because they're too big and can have adjustment problems if you have a narrow ear canal. Another thing I recommend is that you play with different types of cables and eartips, they can make a difference.

I kind of like earbuds for this type of music. Yincrow RW2000 is a premium one. I've seen great reviews. You can try the style for cheap with the Yincrow X6 or Nicehck EB2S pro. Both are very bright and good imo. They lack bass but are much more open than IEMs. Otherwise, I suspect any of the planar IEMs would be good. It's safe to try the Letshuour s12 pro. Personally, I bought and really enjoy my Hidiz MP143. They have a good bass punch, strong instrument separation, and a decent soundstage.

Haha!!! I had this issue literally 5 minutes ago. It took me a minute, but once I saw the filters in there, I knew it had to open some legitimate way. It's crazy tight, so I was being really cautious and having no luck. It finally loosened up and I knew I wasn't breaking it. 10 minutes into the 143s and I'm pretty happy. Happy listening!

Mp143 is bass boosted, timeless felt more clean and natural like to me, and mp143 needs more volume to feel the bass with red nozzles too , my personal opinion

the cable is high quality but a bit thin, so they might break it, but it's one of my favourite models.

Yes, they're different, the MP145 is superior in quality and i tend to like it more for intense listening, the MP143 is a little more 'exciting' to listen to, but yes, they're both great. The other difference between them is that the MP145 is a really big IEM and lots of people can't fit them or feel comfortable with them, the MP143 are significantly smaller and more comfortable for most people, along with being more affordable. Though the MP145 has my personal favourite model of cable.

what sort of sound profile do you like? my personal favourites in that sort of budget are Hidizs MP143 or MP145, keep in mind that the MP145 is more suited for larger ears. they sound phenomenal and are high quality, but the ear hooks are not secure so they'd be better for sitting at a desk and not moving heaps, you can always replace the cable if you like. they have Planar Magnetic drivers (14.3mm and 14.5mm respectively) so they have a great amount of detail in the bass, but they aren't overpowering in the bass. pair that with great air and treble extention and you end up with my preferred tuning. though if this is your first time with IEMs then i will caution you that it's a lot harder to get a soundstage with them compared to headphones and speakers since the driver is inside you ear, bypassing the pinna, which means they can easily sound unnatural (especially if your ears are weirdly shaped) and because the sound is really close to your ear drums.

hey, sorry to post on an old thread, but i just got my mp143s through their st2 kickstarter and i can't for the life of me figure out how to open the filter box. any advice? i tried prying it open with my fingers but it's so freaking tight - can't figure out if i'm supposed to break the actual box or something

I have the OG Letshuoer S12 and also the MP143. They have a very similar sound signature. I think perhaps a tad more bass with the MP143. I think the S12 is a tad more comfortable to wear. Andy (the Dongle king) seems to like the Letshuoer S12 2024 limited a lot. He also liked the MP145 and this year named the MP143 the successor to the 145 in the under $100 category. Never owned a Tinhifi but they have a good reputation.

I commented further down but ultimately it depends on the type of signature you’re looking for i found the S08 is what you’d want the EW300 go be but it just does everything better (more balanced, less muddy, more organic sounding, quicker bass with less distortion, smoother, better vocals, more defined) but it is quite a warm set, so if you wanted a bit more air the MP143 is another great set it’s a bit more airy, delicate and sparkly sounding without any harshness. Think of the S08 being a warm cup of hot chocolate vs the MP143 being a refreshing flute of elegant or refined champagne.

If you have size issues I recommend the Hidizs MP143 it’s much smaller but still a brilliant planar

Explorer is brilliant, personally wouldn’t recommend the EW300 or the Defiant. Hidizs MP143 & Letshuoer S08 also have excellent sound.

For metal a planar S08, S12 Ultra, MP143, Artti T10 Pro iems of that nature

For planars I use the Hidizs MP143 (Airy, Nuanced, Lighter Note Weight) & Letshouer S08 (Smooth, Balanced, Thicker Note Weight). I also use the Aful Explorer (Excellent for Pop & Hip Hop & EDM). I’ve also owned the Punch Audio Martilo, Juzear Defiant and Simgot EW300 none of which i’d recommend. The Hidizs MP145 might be a good choice as it’s essentially a better and more exciting version of the MP143 the main reason i chose the MP143 is the smaller nozzle size as the MP145 is too big for me. But yes the Xenns Mangird Tea Pros are my main IEM i’d say they’re definitely a step above the others in terms of detail and quality. They’ve got a lush warm sound with dynamic bass without losing any detail up top. They aren’t in bass head territory but bass heads will definitely still appreciate them.
