I would add mega7 on the list.
I like the bass of mega7 better than top pro. I’m not sure about the quantity. I love the Que and mega7 more than the top pro.
I would check out the newly released Hisenior Mega7 you can get it for under 500 and if you use Rakuten you can get 18% cash back on AliExpress right now (excludes the taxes and fees). Also Hifigo has $20 off code. Other than that I can’t think of others that wouldn’t be a sidegrade besides the Rockies & Top Pro. My current pick is the Top Pros, but I just picked up the Mega7s today!
I did the similar, best move I ever did, I ended up with the hisenior mega7 though, the placement of instruments and the cleanness of the sound is worth the jump up in price for sure!! Enjoy man
I find them making me wanting to listen to songs again to find sounds I have missed in my lifetime haha. I came from punch audio martilo and they were ok just too bassy, also had aful p7 and these seem like the perfected version of them.
Vocal are a highlight honestly, so natural and centre, not recessed at all everything just works around them. I listen to rock, post hardcore, metalcore, gospel and sometimes edm (they aren't awesome for EDM)
I have had the martilo punch, I liked them alot, however I found bass wasn't actually what was missing (the main reason I upgraded from Aful p7). I recently bought a set of Hisenior Mega7, they were fantastic, great treble, enough bass and perfect mids.... (pretty sure its the same sort of sound as daybreak, you may find it boring) I however found a set of Softears RSV for a steal.. and yea mega7 are for sale, RSV have perfect mids, vocals are amazing.. for an all BA Build the Bass is suprisingly good, highly recommend
Mega7 is clinical, absolutely natural and neutral. Tea pro Se they graph exactly like top pro until upper mids, than than they have abit more lower treble and more air with equal amount of treble, that should make vocal more Forword and more open Will look into them closer - jaytiss valued them them above any other 600$ IEM - its like hype4mkii with better low end and less perfect treble. (Also a full point better in low end and Technical abilities than top pro while equal in mids and treble) Considering I heat top pro exactly as he did - bass abit lucking control (odd warmth presentation) and treble extension just abit less than ideal (technical abilities improvement should help with openness of vocal highs) That sounds like a safe bet - also tea pro see graph very close to monarch mkIV (only difference is a touch less upper treble)
Yes but don’t get mega7 - as he said this is NOT IEM for beginners, not for those who DO NOT have large collection, because it Doesn’t play sound Correctly or the way it is intended by musician/singer! It is fun and crazy sound for those who have listed to SOO many perfect and great IEM, that they became bored of clinical neutral correct sound.
my only criticism is that it has micro nuances or micro details but not engaging. but they are absolutely smooth and organic to my ears. i just needed another rotstion set which can be more engaging (hype 4 mk2 or probably top pros/monarchs by nextyear)
The $400 range is where it really maxes out. It doesn’t get better at $500 or more. I swear I’ve seen this exact discussion before. I basically have $400 sets that perform better, or about the same, as $500, $600, even $1,000 sets. That’s where the improvements stop. Dusk is $400 and Tea Pros are around $340. Softears Studio4 is currently around $350. We’ll use that as a reference. Dunu SA6 Mark 2 is $600. One of the most overrated and overpriced IEMs I own. Sounds like flat coke. I’d take Studio4, Tea Pro, or Dusk over it — all around $350–$400. Xenn Top Pro, even at $500+, isn’t “better.” It’s just different. I have cheaper sets I like more, like Kiwi Ears Astral, Cadenza4, Studio4. I extensively tested the oh-so-hyped Mystic 8. My Studio4 still beats it (for me). Mystic 8 is $1,000. Studio4 is $300–$400. I like the IE600 and IE900, but they weren’t better than what I own now. And those things are stupid expensive. Mega5EST a few months ago was $500+. It was eh. Murky. I like Dusk and Tea Pros better. Again: things don’t really get better past $500. I also have zero interest in the Mega7. Would not be shocked if Kiwi Ears Astral or Xenn Top Pro kicks its ass. And while unrelated, this is exactly why I don’t bother with 99% of Thieaudio. They make it SO easy for me. Stupid expensive, stupid huge. If your idea of “premium” is building IEMs the size of BOULDERS that don’t even fit smaller ears, then thanks — you just removed yourself from consideration. I demo them, I try them, and I literally can’t wear them for long. So you never get my money, and you never will. You’re basically the GORUCK of IEMs: stupid expensive, stupid big. Easiest pass in the entire hobby.
