Budget gaming pick, but poor cables and polarizing bass.

I love mine. They are like a warm hug for the ears. I have the ew300 where you can literally look round the sound but they are very hard to listen to for a long time. The juzear feels more friendly and the timbre and depth of the music is lovely.
I feel the same way about the Defiant. There are some IEMs it absolutely wipes off the board. Then there are sets where it could go either way — not a clear win, just a different flavor — like Pure, Crinacle Daybreak, Dunu Kima 2, Explorer, and Xuan NV. And then there are IEMs that I’d genuinely call clear upgrades, many sitting around the $400 range. It honestly reminds me of the Neat King Bee V1(not v2) in the mic world — a $99 mic that outperformed everything in its class and even competed with $500+ mics. People got sticker shock trying to “upgrade.” I’m not kidding when I say the $99 Neat King Bee could beat a TLM 103 ($1000), and the Defiant gives me that same vibe in the IEM space.
Yip!! It's such a great deal! I've seen them go for like 50 bucks or so on some crazy deals lately. It's so no-brainer. It's a dragon slayer ^_^
I'll help you with your list! Let's go through it: 1. Aful Explorer 2. Simgot EM6L 3. Kefine Quatio 4. Juzear Defiant (Was my default pick but after hearing so many QC problems, I am skeptical) 5. Trutheat Pure 6. Trutheat Hexa 7. Simgot EW300 Let's remove all Simgot. Because Simgot is bright trash (all of them including Supermix 4, Simgot sucks at vocals too) and let's remove Hexa. Because Hexa is the IEM people always regret buying. Let's also remove Quatio. I checked out that IEM. It's eh. 1. Aful Explorer 2. Juzear Defiant (Was my default pick but after hearing so many QC problems, I am skeptical) 3. Trutheat Pure Yeah these 3 are good. If you want more of a V-shaped sound go for Defiant. If you want more of a chill, sleepy sound go for the Explorer If you want more a neutral warm IEM get the Pure If you increase your budget by $14 check out the Daybreak which is on discount at the moment.
It's between Explorer and Defiant. Just cross out Truthear Nova. Defiant is better than Nova at 1/2 the price. Far less harsh (Nova has harsh peaks), more full vocals (Nova has thinnish vocals), more impactful bass. Nova isn't worth it in 2025.
A few days ago I saw a post here in Reddit talking about the Juzear Defiant and it got me thinking about how the Defiant really is a unique IEM. It's $80 but it has the ability to clear out the playing field. In the post I talked about how the Defiant clears out IEMs at and above its price point. You may or may not like the Defiant. But if you like it and it resonates with you, it honestly has the ability to clear out IEMs that are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, even 7 times its price.
Could you clarify what you felt was misleading? I saw your comments on other reviewers, so just to be clear — I’m not sponsored, I don’t take free units, I don’t use affiliate links, and my channel isn’t monetized. Every IEM in that video was bought with my own money, and the comparisons are based on sets I personally own. I also clearly mention several IEMs that I think are better than the Defiant later in the video. We don’t have to agree on the exact models, but I can say with confidence that—even if our lists differ—the Defiant will beat IEMs in its price range and well above its $80 cost.
Softears Studio 4 (better for female vocals, ie kpop) Xuan NV (great for male and female vocals. Imo better than Truthear Nova. But soundstage is lacking on Xuan NV). But it's a hell of a deal for $67. Great artwork box. Great eartips (usually 20 bucks). Great cable. Great sound. Kiwi Ears Astral (better for female vocals. But no penalty for male vocals) Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite (better for female vocals) Cadenza 4 (great all-rounder) Juzear Defiant (at least the unit I have; mine works fine. Vocals are spot on for male and female vocals.) YMMV but I feel like Zigaat Lush has good vocals too.
GK Kunten (before retune) (don't get it now). Could be bought for maybe 8 bucks? Basically a mispriced $60 iem. Artii T10. Nothing better below its price. Also gives $100 to $200 iems a fight. Dunu Kima 2. About a hundred bucks or so. Great vocals, great tuning, great bass. Not for trebleheads. Undoubtedly a warm iem. Also comes with a full rack of eartips that are some of the best out there ie, Dunu S&S, Dunu Candies, etc. Celest Pandamon 2.0 at 9 buckaroos. That was a hecking steal. Celest Wyvern Abyss at 9 buckaroos. Another steal. Great for vocals. Purely a vocal set. Terrible 'technicals', ie bad soundstage and imaging. But vocals are chef's kiss. Sivga Que (original). A pure vocal set iem. Insanely good for the price. Just listen to the female vocals on it and compare it to iems that cost more. A/B it. You'll just think, how the fuck is this so good at 60 bucks? Xuan NV. At 67 bucks or so. A well rounded iem. I think these are fantastic for hip-hop lovers. Juzear Defiant (if you get one that works). Outperforms iems double its price. Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition - Discontinued. But imo the best of all the Wan'ers. Great vocal set. Use the white eartips on it. If those don't fit, buy Kbear07 eartips and get the size that fits you. Don't use wide bore on it. Truthear Hola - Was 20 bucks. If you have it. It seriously makes you question why iems cost more. yu9 Que - It's about $400. But it makes me question iems that cost double, triple its price. Letshouer Cadenza 4 - This is a point of contention but imo I tell everyone just to get Cadenza 4 instead over the $500 Tops Pro. It's an iem that seriously made me consider the worth of Tops Pro at $500. I genuinely believe that if you already have Cadenza 4 you'd be disappointed spending $500 on Tops Pro. I might really like Beryllium drivers.
**Iems that look good that sound pretty good** Juzear Defiant, Celest Wyveryn Abyss, RSV Mark 1, Tea Pro, Dusk, Tanchjim Origin, Celest Pandamon 2.0 (I like it anyway), Yu9 Que, Elysian Pilgrim, EM6L (with Kiwi ears flex eartips), Dunu Kima 2, Sivga Que, Zigaat Lush, Misty Blue, Cadenza 4, Kiwi Ear Astral, Moondrop Variations, Twistura Woodnote, Fosi IM4 (but some eq may be needed), Xuan NV, IER M7, Kiwi Ear Orchestra Lite (in green), Tanchjim Fola, Softears Studio 4, Truthear Hola, Shure SE846, Andromeda 2020, Softear Volume S **Iems that look good that I don't like the sound of** Moondrop Blessing 3, Tipsy M3 (their shells looks sick), Chu 2 (used to like it but standards have went up), 7hz G1 (looks sick in white) (sounds bad tho), Kiwi Ears Cadenza (purple) (it's pretty but vocals are too thin), Mega5EST (pretty shell) (sleepy sounding to me), RSV Mark 2 (sick design) (but the bass gets overbearing over time), A bunch of Zigaats look nice but I didn't like them (Ziggat Arcanis, Zigaat Crescent, Zigaat Odyssey), Canpur Silver Flash, Inawaken Twilight (Harman 2019, hate it), Chopin (thin vocals), Letshouer S08 (sick in black) (I used to like it but don't like it as much anymore), Kiwi Ears Cadenza v2 (pretty faceplate but cookie-cutter sound), a crapton of Simgots have beautiful faceplates but I don't like how they sound (EW200, EW300, Supermix 4, all of them except EM6L), Crinacle Blue Zero (harsh), Crinacle Blue Zero 2 (harsh at high volume), Truthear Nova (gorgeous shell, quite a unpleasant sounding iem), Phoenix call version 1 (gorgeous shell but lackluster sound), Dunu Falcon Ultra (gorgeous shell but imo can get harsh at times)
Defiant is more clear, detailed for me i got the type-c dsp version too, for ew300 little less on sound but i liked the build and comfort and gonna give it to my sister, she liked it for its size and comfort, "will I feel the improvement?" short answer "yes" but how much is something you have to decide
You are the reason I went for it in the first place waner-se and defiant is all you my man, love your videos waiting for more of your stuff!!!
Agreed! I own a pair of the Red Lions. They’re a good set for the price point but when you start chasing the dragon, you actually see the difference. If this is good enough for OP then i guess they’re at their endgame. If OP or anyone else hasn’t tried a pair of Juzear x Z Reviews: Defiants, I highly suggest it. It’s like all the sets you mentioned in one with great resolve. Has amazing separation, clarity, nice sub bass, solid mid bass, not muddy, and has clean treble and air to match that of EW300. If I had to suggest a “one and done” solution, it would be those. For $99-$89, it’s definitely worth the buy and out classes much higher sets. I’m still chasing the dragon so I upgraded to the Aful Performer 7’s. They would literally be the evolutionary step up with almost the same tuning. ✌🏽
You and Omar are the reason why I fell into the rabbit hole. All your vids have helped me make some awesome choices. I’m hella grateful. Thank you both. 🙏🏽 Also wonder how similar these are to the Defiants cus I love those. Plan on getting some Punch Audio Martilos down the line as well. I have a thing for bass sets (with good separation and clarity) in a red color scheme. 😅 (Edit) After reading, these sound like they’re perfect for me. Can’t wait to buy em! 😂
Ooof! Even more inclined now to get the Martilo’s sooner than I was expecting myself to jump up the price point ladder of iems. I’ve tried Edx Pros as my first set. Then the Kz Zs10 pros (second set), now (after two years of falling off) I have the 7Hz Zero2’s, Juzear Defiants added to my collection. Tried the Cadenza but they felt super flat and basic. Tired the EW300 (Std) thanks to Omar (Audio Amigo) but I returned those as i like them except the Defiants won me over. Also, I ain’t rich. Tried Zero Reds and they weren’t my style. Felt flat with slight bass. Like the Red Lions as a complimentary set to my Zero2’s. Just got a pair of GK Kuntens for shits and gigs. Gonna try the Zero Blue2’s tomorrow (was looking for a Dual Dyanmic set for the collect). Also looking into Ear Acoustic STA Pro Max… wonder how those will be? (Edited) My future buying list is the Dunu Koto x Ito, QoA Matador, and PunchAudio Martilo. 😅 Thoughts!? 🤔
This review was so good and then there was mention of the Martilos… It all got me fired up and I lost self control 😂 https://preview.redd.it/ozxr0waj9v2h1.png?width=1206&format=png&auto=webp&s=d2f72d8203ad4559d2570a57ed5362325b562eff
No, thank you. Investment for my ears, mind and soul is always a must. Can’t wait to see the difference between these and the Defiants. 🤔🤩
Well damn. But i did look them up. And other reviews say some good things too. Doesn’t hurt to try em. If it doesn’t suit me, they’re going back. 🤷🏽♂️ I saw a previous post from this person also getting Cozoy D1 and GK Streak alongside the BQEYZ. Have you tried any of these u/Dracomies? I only ask because i got the Juzear Defiants after watching a bunch of vids but your YouTube vid definitely got me 😂
Did you get your Fiestas yet? Im still waiting. There’s still in the air but hopefully I’ll get them soon. I also just ordered like 5 more pairs of IEMs. Martilos and Koto Itos in the mix. That summer sale caught me 😜
Im in NY too 🙌🏽 but it still hasn’t hit customs for me. Hope it clears customs today. It’s wild but Aliexpress commented on the post 🤣 I gotta look into the HS6. Can’t remember if I saw a vid on it or not. But I’ve been itching to get the OoopusX22. And possibly a set of XuanNV x HBB (AudioAmigo claims it’s a budget Performer 7) but also a favorite set for many folks. Graphs to me are somewhat of a general marker for what they kinda sound like. But everyone’s “hearing age” or just like all the damage/degradation done to their ears over time varies person to person. For example, if you live in a city vs a quiet town or country side your hearing is already at a disadvantage from high decibel sounds. Then stack on any other bs that affected your hearing (loud concerts, night clubs, house parties, listening to earbuds too loud, etc). All of this combined i can vouch that not all of us have the same working frequencies. So for me those graphs are just a general estimate, I always gotta hear it for myself. 🤷🏽♂️😂
If your main priority is gaming but with also good sound, I think this [this](https://www.amazon.com/-/es/HiFiGo-Defiant-Gamefidelity-intrauditivos-intercambiables/dp/B0GY8GSCLM/ref=sr_1_4?__mk_es_US=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=3RW6ZE6YTGBF7&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.4wU19FDwiVpd2WLGuk3Nzf6WptzvjQCFCEAa8k3cabY4XnSbkxyGrXagOSNqeVrB7_P_GLaNiUNhGkifilkvL7wTQxycKTshyfWHvA5xDkrKMgt5nCjpw-1IsAdJif0bGZCiRSt3sRyShNMvSl54JeSs7ivOAhJY96cWTNKRyuzis8-lhvdWDGEijED479im.KO1kFvRqCaDqjT727HMDeih5GkIYIm2pD1OEuy4Jp18&dib_tag=se&keywords=Juzear&qid=1781367374&sprefix=juzea%2Caps%2C285&sr=8-4&th=1¤cy=USD) may be for you. I didn't know much about them to be honest, but I know they are built specially for gaming (judging by the name lol). And I also have the juzear defiant and they sound incredible so those iems should be good too.
Check out the Sivga Que UTG and Juzear x Z Reviews Defiant. Two of my favorites under $100 right now, and I think the Defiant might even be on sale too. A couple of cheaper options that I also like are the Kefine Klean and Sivga SM100 (just released, sounds fantastic for the price).
