for me it was KBEAR KS1. in 2021, i don't know much about iems. as long as they had huge bass, i'll stick. not using it anymore, i've sold it to my friend. now i'm using letshuoer s08. https://preview.redd.it/tibtk32g61se1.png?width=1079&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a5461213b9e0d9cec486d023ba09dca97e73e30
r/iems • What was your first IEM, and do you still use it? ->Many moons ago I bought Kbear KS1 and KZ ZSN pro when they were $11. They were much better than Panasonic earbuds I bought for about the same price. Would do it at again at the same price. With current prices and quality I would likely stretch out to the $20 level.
r/iems • I'm an IEMs absolute noob, and I wanted to give them a try. What was your first IEMs? Do you regret it? What would you get as a first cheap one if you could do it again? ->My advice: rather than directly starting with custom moulds and expensive in-ears, just buy a cheap pair (I'd recommend the KBear KS1's) to test the waters before committing to spending $1000 or more. I've DJ'd 10-20 gigs with these $10-15 KS1's before upgrading to something else
r/DJs • In- ear headphones for vinyl DJing/hearing protection ->I just wanted to share my +1 on these KS1s; also bought them for $10-15 and used them for a year before upgrading to different ones. Sound is quite good and they fit nicely with different tips
r/DJs • Do you like your IEMs? ->I recommend the KBEar KS-1. I got mine for around $30 CAD and they're insane for the price. clear top end and mids with strong sub bass
r/ipod • Best Earbuds For iPod ->Agreed. I just got some KBEar KS1s, normally like $25 for $10 on sale to try out IEMs. I'm happy with them. Highs and lows are a bit boosted, but they have really good sound overall and are comfortable. Way better than any earbud I've ever used. I can definitely see using them instead of headphones. Iplan on keeping this on hand with my USB, when I go out, but not necessarily set to play, just in case I get asked to play afters or fill in or something. They're small enough to carry everywhere and cheap enough that if something happens to them, I won't be upset, but they produce really good sound and work for DJing.
r/DJs • Do you like your IEMs? ->You don't even need to go with something that expensive. Get some KBEar KS1s. They're awesome sound quality and isolation for under $20. I have a pair and have zero complaints, sometimes using them instead of my $200 X7s.
r/DJs • Why don't DJ headphones prioritize noise isolation over everything else? ->Several times. The sound isolation is amazing on them, even without having music playing, they block out virtually all outside sound. They come with 3 different sized ear tips for a good fit. They're lightweight and super comfortable. The sound quality is great, but maybe a little more biased towards the high frequencies than a perfectly flat curve. Edit: to note, KBEar makes several different models with similar sounding names, but the KS1s are the ones you want to get for DJing.
r/DJs • Why don't DJ headphones prioritize noise isolation over everything else? ->Really for under $20 you can't go wrong even if you don't like them a lot. I got mine for $12+tax on sale.
r/DJs • Why don't DJ headphones prioritize noise isolation over everything else? ->Not sure about longevity, but the sound quality is awesome and they have great isolation. For the price, that's why I brought up the Sterlings. There better sound quality than the X5s, almost the same as the X7s, and cost half the price. Better sound quality than any of the ATX and Sony pairs I've used as well. The HD25 being on ear without good isolation is what breaks them for me, but the sound quality is amazing on them.
r/DJs • Why don't DJ headphones prioritize noise isolation over everything else? ->broke ass hell, so im using the kbear ks1! theyre still great though.
r/ipod • What earbuds, IEM or headphones are you rocking with your iPod? ->i own a ^(na-no) 3rd gen & a classic 6th gen (only realised recently! always thought it was a 7th gen.) & im currently using the 7hz zero 2 iems. i also love the kbear ks1's, but i prefer the zero 2's anyday.
