"Save money and get this. ... I have sets I prefer over them, but not in that price range."
"It's a budget set...but it's THE budget basshead set."
"For $20 these headphones are insane. ... They sound crisper, have a much wider Hz range than the Airpods (especially down low), and can pick up smaller details that usually go missed. ... They sound clean and have plenty of bass when you want them too."

"The Rosefinch definitely requires some tweaking with EQ though. ... I run mine through XEQ with a reverse V signature to compensate for the lack of mids and the end result is something I'd pay a lot more for if I know they'd last longer than a few months."
"After adding some upper mids and treble via EQ, you'll notice that the drivers they used on the kbear rosefinch is of high quality."

"it excels at layering the shittiest, muddiest bass on top of every other frequency."
"The KBear Rosefinch has *tons* of sub-bass, but it has much bigger problems with treble tuning and can sound quite harsh if you try to turn it up at all."
"it doesn't feel very controlled, like it's not precise or very crisp"

KBear Rosefinch for sheer bass energy and fun sound (and also for being the cheapest of proper basshead sets) cvj vivian is good if you want a bit more vocal forward and a bit bigger "stage" but sometimes at the cost of how fun/rumbly the bass feels (and they are a bit more expensive)
I have the Explorer, Defiant and Martilo. I don't hear the similarities between the Defiant and Martilo as you do. They both have a similar approach to songs. If the sub-bass is there...you will hear it. More so the Martilo. The Explorer is bassy...but not basshead. In fact...I don't classify the Martilo as basshead either. Give KBears Rosefinch a twirl first. It's a budget set...but it's THE budget basshead set. See if that's what you're looking for. I also have the 7Hz Legato. For me, the Legato is more "basshead" than Martilo. It's not as warm overall as the Explorer, but the are definitely more in the low-end. You may have to step up into FatFreq territory for more mid-bass along with the sub-bass rumble. Keep in mind...how bass is presented also depends on how mids and treble are set. Pulling both of those back slightly can greatly increase bass response
Under 50...my vote goes to KBears Rosefinch. Unapologetic BASS CANNON
I am currently daily driving the Kbear Rosefinch as bass is my absolute favourite, but would you say the Deuce is worth it considering its build quality and price?
Listed from cheapest to most expensive: CVJ Luki KB Ears Rosefinch 7hz Legato 7hz Diablo Fatfreq Deuce TSMR Armor TLDR winner: TSMR Armour So I've been on the hunt for an IEM that works well for metal with thunderous bass that clearly defines kick drum from bass guitar. I'm treble sensitive and what would probably be considered an extreme bass-head in this community, so my opinions will probably only be valid for a small selection of you but hopefully this helps someone. Impressions (favourite to least favourite) without any EQ: Armor: does everything right for my ears. The only IEM that I haven't felt the need to touch EQ. Kick and bass guitar are balanced wonderfully and a really pleasant warm sound signature without fatiguing highs yet still sounds clear and transparent. Is an absolute monster if you plug in to the deuces impedance adaptor. Diablo: Similar thoughts to the Armor. Less sub bass than the armour but has fantastic midbass punch thanks to the planar. Also a pleasant warm signature though the slightly boosted uppermid/high presentation makes me slightly prefer the Armor. Close contest though! Deuce: lots of sub bass but in stock form without EQ the lack of midbass makes it sound thinner and more brittle than the other two above when listening to rock and metal. Highs are a bit harsh for my ears without the midbass to smooth it out. This pair sounds fantastic for genres I don't really listen to much though - think any music that's sub bass heavy - R&B, hip-hop etc. With EQ the deuce can be made to work well for rock and has the largest quantity of sub bass of the others, so its still a set I enjoy using depending on my mood. This pair made me decide to not try Martilos as they seem to have a similar tuning looking at graphs and reviews. Legato: plenty of sub and mid bass but lacking some definition between kick and bass guitar. Upper frequencies are a mixed bag: a little muffled/veiled yet also has some sibilance. Probably the one set I wouldn't recommend as it sits in an odd price bracket where it's just outside of 'cheap' where you get the value for money recommendation yet just a little below the midrange bracket which are a significant step up. Rosefinch: similar to legato - less veiled but has a very irritating fatiguing spike at around 8k that kills this pair for me. With EQ these turn in to quite a good value for money bass-head pair though. These are my knock around pair for travel, workout etc. This pair with a cheap peq dongle like the JA11 would be my budget conscious recommendation. Luki: just a super cheap $10 set to test out bone conduction. Not enough sub bass and wonky tuning. EQing helps a little but still sounds cheap. However I love the way it made bass guitar sound in some tracks - assuming that's the BCD. Makes me want to try something like the Penon Archangel but for now I'm satisfied with the Armor and not sure I want to push this hobby in to the high price bracket when I have nowhere in my hometown to 'try before you buy' (Brisbane).
Probably not, I doubt anyone is paying anyone to hype up a years old iem. The rosefinch is insanely bassy but I haven't tried the defiant yet, maybe it's just a factor of preference.
7hz legato are a bit overpriced for what they offer. The best budget bass cannon is the kbear rosefinch around $25, but they sound really muddy if you're fine with that.
I currently have the Kbear rosefinch because they have decent bass but I'm looking for an upgrade around $100. Do you recommend the 7hz legato as a worthy bassehead upgrade or a different set of iems?
I have the Rosefinch, love it. Tried Castor and QKZxHBB - bass heavy but not basshead level. Do you tested them both? (Planet and Blue 2)
Aoshida E20 isn't especially bassy unless you EQ it, but the thing is it can take a lot of EQ. Without EQ the KBear Rosefinch probably has the most sub-bass, but I don't especially recommend it because it has quite a harsh peak in the treble that limits volume scaling. Some people don't seem to notice it though. The Aoshida is definitely the better IEM of the two, overall.
Those are bullshit and probably mostly fake reviews by a competitor. Find some reputable reviewer(s) you can trust and whose opinions align with your own, as everyone hears IEMs a bit differently. This is the one that made me consider trying the HBB. Wasn't convinced at first, but they're now one of my favourite IEMs at any price (and I have about 60 IEMs): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swejkFpZfBM The HBB has a very particular style of presentation though. It's warm and relaxing, although it also volume-scales very well and can be fun if you turn it up a bit. If you want a really hard-hitting style of bass, the KZ Castor Bass+ is better, but it's overall tuning isn't as good as the HBB & it especially has some issues in the treble (though you may not notice at first). Also the Castor doesn't have much sub-bass so it's probably not what you're looking for. The KBear Rosefinch has *tons* of sub-bass, but it has much bigger problems with treble tuning and can sound quite harsh if you try to turn it up at all.
Hello. I’ve been doing a lot of research into buying a mid level pair of iems. But the more research I do the more lost I feel with new iems constantly showing up… I’ve tried to narrow it down to these three. Unfortunately I’m not able to listen to them before buying them, so I fear it’s going to be a bit of a gamble regardless. I’m not an audiophile by any means but I’ve always struggled to find a pair of headphones that has decent imaging, crisp vocals, clarity and punchy bass you can feel. Overall a fun and satisfying listening experience over a more neutral technical one. I have/had the sennheiser momentum true wireless 3 (they’re great but they lack that oomph and sound stage in quite a few rock and metal songs), Audeze maxwell (they’re quite flat sounding but have great clarity), Sony wh1000xm3 (I enjoy these, but they feel quite muddy and the instruments can feel very close at times), kbear rosefinch (they’re fun and awesome for the price. The bass is nice but they also lack oomph and clarity in a lot of songs. I’ve ordered new tips for them so I wonder if that’ll help) I mainly listen to Jpop, jrock, kpop, rock, metal, and electronic/synthpop. Some artists I listen to are: Ado, Yuyoyuppe, Utsu-p, Yorushika, Spiritbox, Suisei, Pretty Patterns, Mamamoo. (I mostly listen to female vocals) Im able to find the variations for about £425, the tops 2nd hand for £360 and Neo 5 for roughly £250 Does anyone who’s tried any or all of them have any opinions/insights?
