Just FYI, the Kiwi Ears Melody is another very bassy, warm-tuned planar.
Melody Wings Venus This thing punches way beyond its price point and no one even knows of it's existence
Ahaha I made a [post ](https://www.reddit.com/r/iems/comments/1n7g0pp/melody_wings_venus_1dd3ba_the_hidden_gem_no_one/)about this same IEM over a month ago also saying its a hidden gem. Glad to know you also got to try it! This price bracket now imo is where the real end game sets exist for most people.
These absolutely shine for JPOP, no surprise since ELISA is the ambassador for this set. I've been using mine ever since I bought it in august. For ear tips, pair them with Spinfit W1, Tangzu sancai (balanced or wide), Dunu S&S, and they sound amazing either way.
Kiwi Ears Melody for me. So much detail and a treble heavy tuning that doesn't fry my ears.
Have you tried EQ or tip rolling sir? Sometimes some small changes can make a world of different. I have an aful performer 7 and a melody wing Venus, not bass head iem, but I find the bass so much better on the melody wings, as it's got a faster attack then my P7. The P7 is a duel DD set, yet I find the sing DD melody wings superior because of the attack frequency. So you can get better strong bass, but the attack and decay also matter. Also with my p7s, I need small dunu s and s tip to get the best out of them, the MWV needed the black core tips that came with them.
This is what I've been enjoying lately, the accessories are amazing, there smooth AF. https://youtu.be/CXyMzmfkLqM?si=CneiQkLF-2ndIvi5
No problem, they cost me 188 euro, and people have compared them to moondrop blessing 3, the linked reviews compare them with the original oracle and even aful dawn, so they punch well above their weight. The melody wings is more dac dependant then other iem I've used, need a high voltage dac to get the best pairing. I'm using a fiio btr17 and need to run it in desktop mode.
Ok I haven't been in the hobby long enough to have a kilo back, but I have a p7, melody wings Venus and a kiwi ears belle, im using the belle the most right now lol. It's got most of what I want in a tiny package.
The melody wings Venus, it is such a special iem at its price.
The Yu9 Que has a more aggressive and impactful sound as compared the Venus. I like both sets but the Venus fits my preferences better, the Que’s treble can be too much for me at times.
I don't read graphs, so just going off what I hear, they both sound like they have a vee shaped signature with the Que have a little more of a vee. The Que is a very dynamic sounding set, especially in the bass. Both sets are very detailed with excellent instrument separation. Both are class leading in this respect.
I personally really like the Melody Wing Venus, but the Ziigaat Odyssey or Estrella with the Shortbus Audio tape mod.
I've owned well over 200 IEMs and I don't recall the exact journey, but if you like bass I would recommend the Ziigaat Doscinco, Thieaudio Hype 4 or the Xenns Tea Pro. If you not sensitive to treble I would recommend either the YU9 Que or Ziigaat Estrella with Shortbus Audio tape mod. The Melody Wing Venus is a great set if you can find them for a decent price. The MP145 can be an endgame set especially with a good DAC/Amp.
I haven't had the MK12 but a couple of days and not but an hour or so of listening to them. But from first impressions it not what I like, the bass is good but it bleeds into the mids and the treble is kinda muted. The Melody Wing Venus on the other hand is a home-run. It's a great sounding set that scales well with better equipment.
My favorite IEM under $300 is the Melody Wing Venus.
2025 was a great year for IEMs. My favorite releases are the Melody Wing Venus, YU9 Que and the Fiio FX17. All of these are standouts in their price bracket. I really don't know how Fiio can sell the FX17 at the price it's selling for, it seems like they are losing money on it.
My favorite set around the 150 price point is the Hidizs MP145, but I would suggest you spend another 20 bucks and get the Melody Wing Venus, they are a great sounding set.
2 of my favorites under 1k are the YU9 Que and the Melody Wing Venus.
Hidizs MP145 or if you want something with more technicalities, the Melody Wing Venus is a great set that scales well with better equipment. The CrinEar Protocol Max is the DAC/amp to get.
My favorite IEMs under $200 are the Canpur Silver Flash and the Melody Wing Venus. For me personally the Canpur Silver Flash is a better IEM than most I've heard that cost 5 or 6 times the price of the Silver Flash.
The two IEMs that easily beat more expensive sets that I own or heard are the Melody Wing Venus and the YU9 Que.
My favorite set under $300 are the Melody Wing Venus currently available for $170.
