The KZ models you list are outperformed by their newer releases. GK Kunten and KZ Duonic (silver switchless) are far better than the ZVX or the Castor Pro at the same ultra budget prices. If you want to spend a little more the KZ ZS12 Pro 2 and CCZ CZ10 Tiangong are hybrids which are frankly far better than the ZS10 Pro X/2 for music but especially for gaming, much better details, separation and imaging than the ZS10 series. If you want probably the best sound under $100 the underhyped TRN Shell comes with tuning nozzles to adjust the sound to your preference and excellent cable, case and ear tips.
Both Kunten and Duonic are great, I would say that Kunten has better technicalities and micro detail. The Duonic is a little less technical but more pleasant. I would say that the Duonic was the better all arounder and easier to live with. If I had to choose between the two for all my uses, music gaming (both competitive FPS and immersive RPGs) as well as podcasts and Youtube videos, I would go Duonic, only if my number one priority was competitive FPS would I go Kunten.
GK Kunten 1 dynamic driver, KZ Duonic silver no-switch version 1 planar 1 dynamic driver, CCZ CZ10 Tiangong 1 dynamic driver, 4 balanced armatures, KZ ZS12 Pro 2 1 dynamic driver 5 balanced armatures, Tinhifi C2 2025 1 dynamic driver, Kefine Delci AE 1 dynamic driver. All of the above are below $100 and offer great gaming if they look good to you. An IEM which is good at gaming rather than great but has stunning looks and fantastic cable / accessories is the Juzear X Z Reviews Defiant.
gk kuntens. can be found <15$ with sound quality that punches to 50$ to many ears. widely appealing allrounder so budget + soundwise they're a good safe blind buy 7hz zero 2 - if the kuntens aren't available, safe all rounder as well wan'er 2 or tanchjim bunny - if you want vocals to shine kz duonic - if you love alot of bass
sounds like youre something of a basshead in which case kunten will never fit those preferences cause thats not the sound they were going for im going to assume very budget so KZ duonics would be my rec
kz planars specifically are some of the most power hungry iems out there. you need a good source to power these properly
ive seen mixed things about the budget ones like applle dongle and jm6 pro not having enough power for kz planars. blackpearl i'd take though
Duonic has copious amount of bass. I think either your ears have some issue or you aren't getting a good seal with the eartips. Do some tip rolling and also try some aftermarket eartips like audiocular atmos and flexfit.
So I just ordered the Duonic a few days ago, should arrive in a week or two. I’ve been listening to the castor pro Bass enhanced version for a couple months now. It’s one of my favorite iem’s right now. You say duonic is pretty much superior, man I can’t wait to hear these. 👍🏻
Just started listening to the Duonic. IMO I’d say Duonic is definitely superior to the castor pro. Now castor pro is good, but I think Duonic has a wider soundstage and much more detail than the castor pro.
Get the Duonic instead of the castor pro
Consider the KZ Duonic Silver. Benefits from some EQing down in the treble, but v impressive sound for the price.
If OP is feeling highs of OnePlus Buds 3 harsh then maybe he should avoid Kefine Klean SV even though it’s technically a better choice. u/cuzihad you can go for KZ Thunder or KZ Duonic or KZ Vader Pro instead. Avoid KZ Castor Pro and 7Hz Zero 2 as the others are a better package imo.
Go for KZ Duonic. It’s a successor and an upgrade over Castor Pro.
KZ Duonic is the successor of KZ Castor Pro. Castor Pro had recessed vocals, so vocals used to feel a lil muddy, in KZ Duonics they have fixed the mids. Technicalities are slightly better in KZ Duonic than Castor Pro, so yeah you will hear more details in Duonic.

After using it continuously for three days, here are my observations. 1. The sound is smooth and easy to listen to. Specially smooth vocals. Bass is nice as well. 2. The IEM may look like cheap plastic, but it is extremely lightweight and surprisingly comfortable, even though it appears bulky. 3. The cable feels comfortable and seems decently built in terms of durability. 4. You can wear it for long sessions without any physical ear fatigue, whether it is inside the ear, around the ear lobe, or from the sound itself. I completed a 6 hour session at one go without even noticing. 5. The packaging is excellent. The included ear tips are quite premium and would be expensive if purchased separately, making them a nice bonus. The only downside I noticed is that the soundstage is not very wide. For anyone buying their first IEM and listening to pop, rock, EDM, bass heavy tracks, movies, or podcasts, this is an easy recommendation. I cannot comment on gaming performance since I have not tested it with games.
vocal lovers = wan'er soundstage lovers, bright sound lovers = bunny bassheads = duonic hard pick to choose one, but since i m biased towards bass , i would pick duonic if i had to choose between these three.
if soundstage is primary focus, then bunny, if bass is primary focus with adequate soundstage then duonics.
