KZ Duonic (Bass Enhanced Version) plus KZ AM02 and forget... All-in $25ish for the package... 0 buyers remorse here guaranteed... https://preview.redd.it/7awydfrsih5g1.jpeg?width=1217&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=725e41a0665098a108afb4890ae5316e633a8a82
The KZ duonic (bass enhanced) finally arrived at its pretty good for the price, as expected of kz. Anyway this will be a very informal first impressions/review-ish type of post. This iem was bought from my own money, so this will be unbiased as possible The bass of this is definitely better and more pronounced than the kz castor bass pro and non pro, and it does not bleed as much as the castor pro. The planar driver also makes all the other higher up frequencies have better techs and separation, but here lies the weird thing, the planar driver does not feel like a planar driver and more like a dynamic driver plus version if you get what I mean. Dont get me wrong its still great but to my ears, it sounds like another dd doing the other frequencies, basically a natural, not dry, not dead, and not thin sounding planar. The sibilance of this set is also very unnoticeable to me as well. Like I dont know what kz did for a planar driver to sound like this but they did. Though with that, the sparkle that is normally associated with planars feels very controlled and not as prominent as you would expect it would be. Anyway I mainly listened to this on the dddd setting, which makes it sound like a fun all rounder v shape iem with a bit more bass. But once its on the uudd, the bass really starts going into bass head territory and is definitely overthrowing the qkz x hbb as my top budget bass head iem. Overall this was a surprisingly good and natural. Soundstage and Technicalities were decent to right outside good. I really like how kz handled their planar here and is excited to see what they do with this in the future.
gk kuntens. can be found <15$ with sound quality that punches to 50$ to many ears. widely appealing allrounder so budget + soundwise they're a good safe blind buy 7hz zero 2 - if the kuntens aren't available, safe all rounder as well wan'er 2 or tanchjim bunny - if you want vocals to shine kz duonic - if you love alot of bass
So I just ordered the Duonic a few days ago, should arrive in a week or two. I’ve been listening to the castor pro Bass enhanced version for a couple months now. It’s one of my favorite iem’s right now. You say duonic is pretty much superior, man I can’t wait to hear these. 👍🏻
Just started listening to the Duonic. IMO I’d say Duonic is definitely superior to the castor pro. Now castor pro is good, but I think Duonic has a wider soundstage and much more detail than the castor pro.
Try kz castor pro bass/kz duonic or kz decet And you better never use something like dolby atmos, it usually destroy iem sound https://preview.redd.it/shhwv66i42eg1.jpeg?width=1438&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4498c30b3c890c5a755b34227fecad09a58d86b0
Kz Duonic bass, but if you don’t want to be moving check out Kz Zar, they’re a conford zone for you fr. But they’re 37-45dls on Ali
I only started getting into IEMS in Feb of this year. Forced to stay at home from a tragic work injury, with nothing to do and money to spend. I knew there was life after earbuds, and hence, my first IEM purchase, the Wan'er SG. Best bang for the buck: Kunten, easily. Best of the year: AM16 Bass version. Going from the Kunten and my other single DD to this is like... WOW! Biggest surprise of the year: Well, I have to say the Wan'er, because that blew me away after years of JBL and Sony earbuds. It was my first IEM and it felt like hearing Heaven after earbud hell. Biggest letdown: Truthear Zero:Red. Without the resistor, it has no bass. It doesn't really have treble. And it really doesn't have mids. It has nothing... (Crinacle face zoom)... for $55. Other good ones: 7hz Elua Ultra. KZ Castor Pro bass. KZ EDC Pro, KZ PRX Others I didn't like: 7hz Zero 1 (no bass), KZ Duonic (too v-shaped), SGOR Luna (didn't fit well, and very ugly), Chu2 (It's OK. My other single DD's sounded better)
I kept going back and forth listening to the Duonic and Castor Pro Bass. I found the mids much better on the CPB, and Duonic too V-Shaped for my tastes. I guess I could just EQ the Duonic to the CBP. The below graph shows the differences. https://preview.redd.it/re3arhvp1mag1.png?width=1295&format=png&auto=webp&s=21edb775f500882fd14fffbe86bfe3d35e71b5b6
Well the price is almost double for KZ Duonic in my country (GK Kunten is like $9). I'd say Kunten is more comfortable due to the open shell, warmer tone, and more bassy for rock music, Duonic plannar driver could be better for details and precision in gaming
