KZ ZSN PRO 2 sounded excellent for the price. It’s a fun sounding IEM. I really liked it.
Depends on your music preferences mate 😊But if you’re starting out the castor pro is good for a beginner. KZ generally targets V-Shaped sound signature which appeals to a lot of casual listeners. The elevated bass would sound great to you in hip-hop and rap songs. The elevated highs might appeal to you if listen to electronic music. Beloved shanling up4 + iems, kz zsn pro 2 for anything casual + earplug for daily motorcycle commute
I know, and my PRX I got it for even cheaper (26$) so it was a must. Loving the new KZ, tried the earlier "new tuning" with the ZSN Pro 2 and honestly there were glimpses of what was about to come. Glad it turned to be good
The difference at some point becomes less about the hardware and a lot more about the tuning. And tuning varies a lot. My DT770 Pros are a reference pair, they're super flat, listening to RnB, funk or hip-hop in them is super boring. My ZSN Pro 2 are a $20 pair of IEMs, but they have a v-shaped sound profile that makes these genres extremely fun to listen to. The difference in price between the two headphones (yeah yeah, they aren't two IEM pairs, but it's still the same point) is 7 fold. The main difference in sound, IMO, comes from tuning. Sure, closed back headphones allow for a wider stage and more airy sound, that's a given. And HD600s also sound different while being a reference pair, but those are open back and will of course sound even more wide, airy and have less reflection. But the tuning? The tuning is drastically different. What I'm getting at is the fact that after some point, after you've excluded complete crap and landfill level electronics, the difference becomes much less about "this sounds 7 times better than this!" and much more about "this flavor costs more to produce than this, and I like it, but also that other flavor is great too".
i bought this year yu9 404 and bought cheat 3 dollars trn, and their medusa, some of KZ ZSN 2 pro or something good too. BUT i tired when your iems with 150 usd or near died on you
I 100% disagree with you, a gk kunten, a kz libra x and a kz zsn pro 2 or edx pro they sound NOTHING alike and you can cleary see that in the graphs that you linked! Btw Libra X sounded cleaner and more neutral to me than a hyped zero red! Anyway ik most ppl that trash KZ iems on this sub most prob live on a first world country where u$300 are pocket change right? Let's try a simple emphaty exercise: Here on Brazil a "sweet spot" u$300 iem that you guys love so much can cost after tax almost as much as a >>median wage<< while a GK kunten costed me less than a fkn cheap pizza! Heck even my u$50'ish artti t10 from Alie costed me ~9x the price of a GK kunten, it came with a bad driver flex and idk if it'll even sound better than the kunten while a chu 2 oxided and failed on my hands with 6 months of usage!
My kunten is still stuck on custom/postal service but just looking at the graphs and reading reviews i already kinda regret the Artti T10 tbh i rly hope Kunten will sound worse but let's see i'll update soon.. KZ i tested so far: D-fi (no switch), ZVX, Castor Silver, Carstor Bass, Libra X, Gale, ZSN Pro 2, EDC Pro, EDX Pro and PRX, KZ-like iems QKZ HBB and Sgor Adonis and non KZ ones Moondrop Chu 2, Truthear Zero Red, Tangzu Fudu, TRN V10 Pro and Artti T10. The KZ that i liked the most "stock" was Libra X it was very clean neutral and "correct" sounding but the bass was lacking while a EQed PRX with -2dB 8Khz and -10dB high-shelf on 10 Khz+ was insane good sounding and no worse than my EQed Artti T10 but the right driver died on me with only 5 months, i can confirm QC and build quality of KZ is kinda crap (brittle QDC connectors, exposed tunning filters) but as long as i'm paying less than a cheap meal for them it's fine cuz even if Kunten last me 6 months i can buy 9x Kunten (i.e: 54 months) with the price of an Artti T10 and idk if the Artti will even last 1 year!
Yes I also got the ZSN Pro 2 yesterday and I can hear footsteps more clearly in arc raiders. It's amazing how good IEMs can be at a low price compared to headphones
I have bought a lot of cheap kz and the kz zsn pro 2 is really good is above every one on the same price range I prefer it even above the waner sg 2
