"really good quality and extremely affordable ones ... far better than they have any reason to be at the price ... impressive considering what they cost ... These things cost about the same as a burger, fries and a drink from Five Guys lol ... it's pretty astounding what you can get for so little nowadays."

"I recently just got some “kz Zsn pro” iem’s from Ali express for £3 and can’t fault them either… ... overall I’d deffo say iem’s are the way to go especially with the price difference"

"They were about $20, and they're absurdly good for the money. ... Better specs than Shure 215s, for a small fraction of the cost."

"I can actually use them to produce with! ... It's amazing how full and accurate they sound and yet any harsh frequencies are obvious enough to fix, but don't grate or fatigue the ear at all, it's made a huge difference and allowed me to work into the night with confidence rather than making me feel like I have to lower the volume on my studio speakers to the extent I feel like I can't actually hear what I'm doing ... trying to make beats and so forth with headphones or regular earbud type things has never worked for me til I tried these."

"Music is 10 times better compared to my hyperx clouds I had.."

"I've never found a pair of headphones, even expensive Sennheiser, AKG etc, that didn't give me a headache in under 10 minutes. It's amazing how full and accurate they sound and yet any harsh frequencies are obvious enough to fix, but don't grate or fatigue the ear at all ... allowed me to work into the night with confidence ... I just rate being able to get lost in what Im doing late at night without getting a migraine. ... for now they totally hit the spot."

"But the ZSN Pros with the larger ear nubbies (which you should have gotten a littl pouch with different sized nubbies in it) fit perfectly in my ears."

Get Moondrop Chu 2 or 7HZ Zero 2. KZ Zsn pro x is also good . I have it. You can never go wrong with this three. Also Moisture issue can happen in countries like India where there are lot of moisture in air. So it always advice to keep a silica gel bag with your iem and store it in a zip lock headphone pouch. Also if you want a dac dont fall for headphone zone marketing. Buy Audiocular D07 Dac from Flipkart/ Amazon / Concept Kart. Half the price and same performance.

I found these 4 as being recommended the most (is the 2 and 4 the same?) Please tell me the best among these . I like a bit of bass but I dont want to be overwhelming . ->

More than anything there really compact. If your looking for recommendations that won't break the bank I'd deffo suggest looking at "kz zsn pro x"'s on amazon, Dankpods the man from the wobbly lan down under recommends them and there pretty budget friendly. Just don't forget to pick up a quarter jack to go with them

I'm fairly new to this territory. First I bought a truthhear hola and it's too flat and horribly big then I got kz Zsn pro x Pretty good and kind of liked it but I need a little more bass. I recently bought a shanling m1 plus and wanna pair something to it. Current options : 1.7h legato. 2.InAwaken Dawn Ms. 3.simgot ew300 hbb. 4.simgot ew300 standard. Are there any better options? or which one should I choose bw these? I get my IEMs from: Headphones zone Or Concept kart India🇮🇳

Hello, I know I’m a bit late to ask about this, but I’m having a hard time choosing an IEM. I don’t really like the KZ ZSN Pro X because it sounds a bit harsh and has a tearing effect to me. I’m used to wired Apple earphones, which sound fuller, have just the right amount of bass, and have good overall sound quality. What IEM would you recommend that’s close to the performance of Apple’s wired earphones? Thanks!

It's ok! .. Salnotes 7hz zeros are neutral.. Well the first thing i would recommend, is to change the eartip ..try the narrow bore small size. It helps to lower down the brightness .. But if you have already tried it , then from my limited experience i think you find the signature too bright for your liking .. hence you try iems with "balanced sound signature" ( Tangzu waner sg 1/2 ) . They are comfortable for medium size ear canals and hold up to their reputation .. decent bass and easy mids and treble.. If you want to add another signature you can try something from the KZ line up KZ ZSN PRO X. it has punchy bass and bright highs ..V shaped basically. Extra tips .. 1. Go to youtube, learn how to use the Wavelet app for EQing ur iems . 2. try practicing listening to audio at volume less than 30-40% .. specially for longer listening sessions . 3. you can also add a dongle dac & amp for slight enhancement . like Shanling UA mini. Audiocular D07 ( look for mic pass through) / hpz x ddhifi dongle dac and amp .. cheers.

The only one of these that I have experience with is the KZ ZSN Pro X (not the ZSN Pro 2), but I suppose I'll weigh in. In a quiet room, they have noticeably less detail than some other IEMs I own, but those are in a different price bracket. If there's background noise (coffee shop, walking around, etc.), there's practically no difference between the ZSN Pro Xs and $150 Fiios. For $20, they are unbelievably good value. I do have some issues with the ZSN Pro Xs, though. They stank of factory smell when I got them, and it took days for it to go away. The cable is also not great. I've had worse, especially since this one came with a microphone and integrated remote control, but it's very much a "budget IEM cable" cable. They give you a few options for the stock tips, but none of them fit me particularly well, though YMMV. The high sensitivity can also result in electronic noise depending on what you plug it into, though this is something that happens with any high-sensitivity headphone/IEM. Overall, though, I like the ZSN Pro Xs. They look good, they sound good, and they were very affordable. The thing with IEMs is that even the cheapo ones are, for the most part, just different flavors of great these days. From what I've seen, you could pick an IEM off that list at random and end up with a perfectly cromulent listening device. And if this is your first dive into the audio world, I wouldn't worry too much about it: you won't know what you like or dislike until you've tried something.

These cheaper Chinese IEMs are surprisingly good. I use the KZ ZSN Pro X on my iPod Classic, and also on some of my handhelds. They're really great quality, and produce really nice sound. The swappable cables are also a very nice feature. If you do get a pair of IEMs that uses these swappable cables with a 3.5mm jack, do yourself a favour and buy an extra cable with a USB-C connector as well. Like all USB-C headphones, they will have a DAC and Amp built into the connector, meaning that you won't be relying on the DAC and Amp built into your handheld/device. It's a worthwhile gamble that it might be better than the DAC and Amp built into your device. I find lots of handhelds have really tinny sounding audio, which makes high-pitch 8-bit, and 16-bit video game audio even more fatiguing on my ears. I've occasionally had some luck with using USB-C headphones providing a warmer sound signature, which softens the harshness of older video game audio. Pro tip: The $10 Apple USB-C headphone adapter has a fantastic DAC and amp in it. It outperforms most DAC and Amp hardware that most low/mid-range devices use. It even outperforms the cheap Realtek built in soundcard that most low/mid-range PC motherboards use.

Among the audiophiles, the KZ products are said to have one of the worst cables and they are very prone to Quality Control Issues. Other brands provide nicer cables and are usually very less prone to problems. My KZ Zsn Pro X which I care for like a baby is leaking resin out from its shell. Whether you wanna believe people saying all good or people here that'll tell you to stay away is your choice.

Dude listen, you’re not crazy. I had the ZSN Pro X, while it sounded great to my ears when I first got them, ZSN Pro 2 sounds significantly better in my ears, like pretty damn amazing. And also, I had ZS10 Pro X as well, and recently got the ZS12 Pro X and it sounded miles and above better than the ZS10…it’s is highly technical with absolutely fantastic soundstage and not at all sibilant with the 4th switch up. Tldr; I think it is simply a case of either upgraded BA drivers in these two newer iterations of KZ or much better tuning. ZS12 Pro X for me is one of the most underrated technical IEMs out there.

I agree with you on good sealing and a good fit. I am also an audio enthusiast with a collection of KZ iems (more thn 20 iems) and other brands too, including the KZ ZSN Pro X that I purchased 6 years ago and is still working well. I have not had any quality control issues with KZ iems so far. However, I have found that the cables and eartips from KZ are below average, so I often replace them with different options. I have discovered that using high-quality eartips can significantly improve the sound quality of KZ iems. Despite being more interested in iems priced above $150-$200, I continue to purchase KZ iems based on positive reviews and their affordability. I recently ordered the KZ Saga from Aliexpress for around $10.

A pair of decent IEM’s suit the iPods pretty well currently there is some great and cheap Chi-fi options but can be a rabbit hole when you start looking at the professional Chi-fi audiophile equipment. I good starter set would be the KZ ZSN PROX in Ear Earphones IMO, they go for about €25 and sound excellent for the price. Chi-fi can get better and more expensive though.

I wouldn't recommend zsn pro even X version which is alright but still not it imo. Also notice that iems are mostly just better value and more versatile in terms of comfort compare to gaming headsets and they won't significantly improve sound quality of sound cues in siege since the way sound works in siege even kilobuck open packs won't really make much difference. If u want iem advice better ask at related subs like r/iems r/headphoneadvice also on yt there's a guy named fresh reviews he does review iems for gaming specifically.

I second these as a long time professional live/broadcast sound engineer and life long percussionist. My Shure SE425s split after a decade of sweating with them in. Someone along the way recommended the KZ ZSN Pros as a cheap but great throw away pair of IEMs. Ive had them for years now and they just keep sounding better and better as they break in. Its takes a little time for the high end to mellow out but I’ve never felt the need to have my SE425s repaired because these sound plenty decent enough. You absolutely have to get the foam isolation tips though if you wanna use them while playing drums.

An X32 rack has significantly more room to grow compared to the XR18. I can't speak for Spain but here in the US I'm nearly always happy to work with a band running their own ears, and if they rehearse their setup and breakdown during band rehearsals it actually makes setup for the night significantly quicker. Zero ringing monitors for me, and band members can be adjusting their own ears as I'm getting a rough mix out front. At a few of my venues we have some Behringer P2 IEM amps and KZ ZSN Pro IEMs in the backups box, that combo is USD$70 per person and isn't just good for the budget, but is a straight-up good wired IEM setup. The amount of money you'd have to spend to get comparable sound and reliability from a wireless IEM setup will quickly dwarf the cost of the X32.

If you're trying to hear your drums through the interface, then you've got something setup wrong. I have a mixer now so I have all of my audio coming into channels 1 & 2 (L & R) from the computer then the other mic inputs go out to my in ears (KZ ZS10 Pros) That may be the difference. I do have some KZ ZST In Ears that were a little bit uncomfortable. But the ZSN Pros with the larger ear nubbies (which you should have gotten a littl pouch with different sized nubbies in it) fit perfectly in my ears. They came with no nubbies on them. I pulled 2 medium sized ones out and they weren't quite right. So I swapped them out for the largest pair in the package and that's what I've been using ever since. Now, as far as hearing your drums through the in-ears. Yeah, I do kind of hear them under what's coming through the in-ears themselves. But it's not distracting me at all because it's all real time so what the interface is picking up, I'm hearing it as soon as I hit the drums. I probably can't help you with software or device settings especially if you're using Windows or Mac (I use Linux) but essentially it's the same I think. you have to select the interface as your output device. This lets you record direct to the computer. I also am plugged directly into the mixer so I'm hearing everything (drums and the music I'm playing along with) going directly into my ears in real time. So, you may have a switch off or main volume knob too low or something because if you're going direct to the interface with headphones, then you should be able to hear the mics. You shouldn't even need a computer to hear the mics if your in ears are connected to the interface. I had a Behringer 1820i (8 port interface) and I was able to hear everything through hat interface just fine. Even the music I was playing along to. I set the main volume for that on the PC. Then that fed into the interface in the audio settings and I could control the volume for everything going to my ears with the interface. It's been a while since I've used an interface so I honestly couldn't tell you how I set that up unfortunately. But, getting the audio from the PC to the interface through USB should be easy enough as long as you have that USB Device setup properly and the volume levels are up high enough so you can hear them okay.

Iva had a bunch of those, i can give opinion: - Chu 2: sound good, nice bass and detail. Sadly the tip started leaking green liquid and clogging all the time, not very good on the go, had to unscrew it to dry. The cable and eartips were awful and i bought other ones. The pouch, looks nice but its whatever, does its job. - 7Hz x Crinacle Zero 2: didnt have it myself but asked a guy who was wearing it and it sounded bass boosted but kinda dead compared to the Chu 2. Kinda weird fit too, didnt really feel comfortable to me. - Tanchjim Bunny: Sounds good and similar somewhat to the Chu 2 (with default of the box EQ). Had some issues on the other iems that i used a dongle dac to use on the phone but they had a very annoying background electrical buzz to it, probably bad dongle but i had tried 2 brands same issue. The cable usb c that comes with this one finally solved that problem for me, no background hiss at all. Eartips are ok so is the cable. I've been trying a Truthear Pure eq profile these days. Without EQ (not the defaut, just a custom one i made all to 0) they are very bassy. - KZ ZSN ~~Pro~~ : i had the not pro version of this one, my first chifi. Good sound, just not that good as the other ones. High pitched noise on some tracks that was unconfortable. The cable, ass, it broke in half. The iem itself broke at the connector too, i left it once on the sun and then it fell off the cables. The eartips, they were the worst, but i didnt really care at the time. - Truthear Gate: The best cable and eartips of the bunch, even the pouch is really good, very confortable fit. The sound? Hot garbage, sounds the same as some cheap earbuds. And i mean earbuds, not iems. No bass no treble, nothing. Most boring sound ive ever heard (and im eq the Pure to my bunnys, mind you, that one is supposed to be no bass and its way better). - Moondrop Quark: It sounded ok. Cable bad, but not as bad as the chu, eartips ok. It was ok. I prefer the ear over cable iems, just more confortable. - Truthear Zero Blue: i had it for very little, it felt very big to my ear insides. It sounded ok and bassy The dongle DAC i had were some CX31993 and ALC5685

I got the pro's off amazon and I have no complaints. Very surprised by how they sound for the money.

I've been rocking the KZ ZSN Pros lately. My brother-in-law gave them to me for Christmas and surprisingly they're my favorite IEM's I have so far. I don't wear over ears out of the house so these have been my go to for work buds

The in ear that made me fala in love with headphones in general was the Philips SHE 9000. I had an Xperia Phone back then and I had a blast with those. First pair of proper iems were the KZ ZSN pro with the meizu HiFi Dac, mindblowing for the time. A While later I got the Moondrop Aria that made the KZ sound like trash and Just a bit after I got the 7hz Dioko that made the Aria sound like a muffled boomy mess too. And that went on for a While until I got to the Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE. Now I have my endgame but I still collect cheaper iems.

It was KZ ZSN Pro. Used them for 4+years and just last week my cable got torn. They were and are still good for me. Kinda in the midst of looking for new iems. Eyes specially on 7hz salnotes and vivace but yet to make a decision

back when I used to use iem, I used kz zsn pro and tinhifi t2. they're both good enough for valorant. I still use tinhifi t2 from time to time. kz zsn pro, I gave it away to my auntie who needed an earphone before.

A lot of people here aren't fans of KZ. Personally, I love KZ. I'm still using my 6 year old KZ ZSN Pro and I was about to buy the KZ Castor, but checked some reviews/sound check on youtube and the KZ EDX Pro is almost the same sound sig as the ZSN Pros, so I just bought those and I'm fairly satisfied.

From your list, the ZS12 Pro X tuning version, though. Imo, it's a good technical over musical iem. https://youtu.be/l44h-KeOocE?feature=shared Around the 5 minute mark, he discusses gaming performance.

I have well over 1000 spent on iems now lol and I've bought the kz zs10 pro and pro x multiple times I like it so much lmao. I probably won't use it after recently getting my fatfreqs but I gotta say something about the zs10 just slaps right man. I've gifted these to people and they always are shocked. Id say don't buy some of their other models knows for having pointless crossovers but that's about it.

Yeah isolation is a tough one. I’ve had the KZ Pros and think they are garbage on all aspects from the fit, to sound isolation, to the sound reproduction. Probably my most hated IEMs that I’ve tried

r/livesound • 300$ IEMs sound like shit, but not with a good EQ ->
