KZ ZST. Ancient old but it was my first iems that i liked the tuning, I tried other KZ. This was around 2018 or smth so it's limited to TFZ, KZ and TRN. I had TFZ Galaxy after, it was amazing but it's about 100usd in my place. IEMs become much cheaper now.

Ooooh. My first iem was a Shure 215 for drumming and then my first chi-fi was the kz Andromeda clone. I got rid of both and good riddance they suck ass. You know what doesn't suck the kz zst and the tin audio t4. Both are great

I used KZ ones, but amp at 1V wasn’t enough for hybrids and planars. KZ ZST played amazingly for 20 euros

I’ve got KZ ZST and they work well for me. Can’t say I’ve tried 215s but don’t imagine them being five times better than what I have already

I’ve got KZ ZST and they get the job done, five times cheaper than the cheapest offering by Shure too

Started with the kz zst, moved on to the zsn pros, they felt like a sidegrade, different taste, in fact I preferred the zst.  Then my brother lost the zst and also the zsn pros so I got the 7hz zero... Not impressed NGL, they were so boring and thin sounding (it was early on and I didn't know about my tuning preferences) dull! But they were unreal with EQ, amazing!!! 😍  Then I got the s12 and I was once again disappointed 😞 it was so bright! And... Honestly not that special (I was driving them out of my computer's headphone jack). Then I got the VE Abigail pro dongle and it was an improvement but they were still way too trebly and sharp and bright. Then I got a bunch of stuff... - cvj mei (The timing differences of the various drivers made these unlistenable for me) - tripowin piccolo (gave it away, too safe) - ew200 (way too bright and thin and lean but these are amazing drivers for EQ) - Trn conch (good accessories but bad treble but amazing for mods) - kiwi ears cadenza (I wish they fit me, a lil too v shaped for my taste) - kz dfi (why have I been spending so much when 5 bucks is enough?) - zvx (opened it up cause I suspected the driver was revised, I was right, quite trebly) - PR2 (shout city but planar for 15 bucks, whatever, awesome for EQ and mods, king of price to performance, recently got another one for 7 bucks, ridiculous!!!!) - Zs10 pro 2 (typical kz tuning stock, amazing for EQ, this was my first proper hybrid, competes with planar maybe 🤔) - tangzu fudu (awesome for 30 bucks on sale, good tips and cable... I wish I could get it again for that price, Zs10 pro 2 with EQ is better and cheaper so nevermind) - oh yeah and the xsl X one! (Ew200 has a better driver fight me, tuning is super fun though.) - faaeal iris 2.0 (earbuds are something else huh... Shame they hurt my ears) Then I quit for a while and now ima make my own iems, thanks for the opportunity to remember the journey My faves are prolly the zst, ew200, Zs10 pro 2, D-fi and probably the PR2 at the top. I always EQ and mod, fudu is probably the best stock, or d-fi

KZ ZST. Pre-ordered it in like 2014-ish, the purple-blue colored one. When i tried it, i just like put it in the box and sell it again. For me, it is really bright, it made my head ache

If you're trying to hear your drums through the interface, then you've got something setup wrong. I have a mixer now so I have all of my audio coming into channels 1 & 2 (L & R) from the computer then the other mic inputs go out to my in ears (KZ ZS10 Pros) That may be the difference. I do have some KZ ZST In Ears that were a little bit uncomfortable. But the ZSN Pros with the larger ear nubbies (which you should have gotten a littl pouch with different sized nubbies in it) fit perfectly in my ears. They came with no nubbies on them. I pulled 2 medium sized ones out and they weren't quite right. So I swapped them out for the largest pair in the package and that's what I've been using ever since. Now, as far as hearing your drums through the in-ears. Yeah, I do kind of hear them under what's coming through the in-ears themselves. But it's not distracting me at all because it's all real time so what the interface is picking up, I'm hearing it as soon as I hit the drums. I probably can't help you with software or device settings especially if you're using Windows or Mac (I use Linux) but essentially it's the same I think. you have to select the interface as your output device. This lets you record direct to the computer. I also am plugged directly into the mixer so I'm hearing everything (drums and the music I'm playing along with) going directly into my ears in real time. So, you may have a switch off or main volume knob too low or something because if you're going direct to the interface with headphones, then you should be able to hear the mics. You shouldn't even need a computer to hear the mics if your in ears are connected to the interface. I had a Behringer 1820i (8 port interface) and I was able to hear everything through hat interface just fine. Even the music I was playing along to. I set the main volume for that on the PC. Then that fed into the interface in the audio settings and I could control the volume for everything going to my ears with the interface. It's been a while since I've used an interface so I honestly couldn't tell you how I set that up unfortunately. But, getting the audio from the PC to the interface through USB should be easy enough as long as you have that USB Device setup properly and the volume levels are up high enough so you can hear them okay.

They're genuinely the best, after living off like, cheap walmart iems, I bought a KZ ZSTs on a sale like 5 years ago and they're still good ! There's nothing that turns me off a phone or device than it not having a headphone jack, it's so silly

r/newzealandWould you guys buy decent IEMs locally if they were in stock in NZ?

I had the same problem with the KZ ZSTs (2 different pairs). I like them because they fit me quite well (compared to the likes of shure 215s) but THE BUZZING NOISE. I’m forever taking an ear out until I need them again (have MD and click panned so I can easily hear with one ear)
