[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSuqYB3NbR8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSuqYB3NbR8)

DX1. Gives me Hexa vibes. It's just as soulless as the Hexa and with no toe-tapping but quite accurate. It's like the Hexa with a smidge more soundstage, just a smidge. I returned it that very day. Aside from that go for the Tanchjim Fission which is pretty much (apparently) the same as the Tanchjim Origin. I have the Origin and legitimately view it as an upgrade over the Hexa in every single way.

Cadenza 4. Tanchjim Origin. DX1. If you have to go below the price of the Studio4, these are solid picks. Funny enough, that last paragraph you wrote? That’s basically the Shure SE846. (I bought it recently.) Fantastic for critical editing, mixing, mastering, and voiceover work. In blue filter mode they honestly remind me of the JBL 305s on my desk. The Cadenza 4 is near perfect for the task. Great for mixing, voiceover editing, video editing, and monitoring. Ironically, the Studio4 is pretty bad for critical editing. It rounds off flaws so you won’t even realize they’re there. ======= Edit: I mentioned the DX1 because they reminded me so much of the Hexa. LIterally returned them promptly.

Best - Hype 4. Finally could afford it. Hands-down awesome. Budget, the Arrti T10 - really, really good for the money. Surprise - NiceHCK Tears. With some EQ (audio engineering background ≈ happy to use EQ in a lot of situations), it's an absolutely banging set with wide perceived soundstage and excellent bass extension and manageable highs. Under the radar at the moment, will be a hit, I think, especially with bass heads Value at $100 - Juzear Defiant. Really is as good as the reviews suggest. Versatile, comfortable and very very tuneable from a great starting point. Letdown - Letshuoer DX-1. Want to love it. Makes me drowsy with boredom. Very frustrating as I suspect it's an issue with my physiology. Eartips of the year - Divinus Velvet Widebore, honourable mention to the ever-faithful Dunu S&S (when you just want it to *work*) Over-ear: Hedd D1.
