I love the infamous Letshouer Dz4 that no one cares about, usually 30-40 euros on sale days at AliExpress
r/iems β’ What are the best IEMs in the 100-150β¬ range for someone who mostly cares about vocals? ->**Letshuoer DZ4.** For reasons completely lost to me, the DZ4 had bad reviews when it was first released. It is a very competent, and comfortable IEM. And is a tuning style that has become more popular over time. It has excellent midrange, good vocal forward presentation, with a warm upper treble that never gets shouty or fatiguing, but isnt lacking in detail. Sure its doesnt have perfect timbre, its not the most technical, its not a bass head set, its not even super warm either. But what it does have is a unique tuning that can be immediately enjoyed, and worn for hours without fatigue. And now that it can be had for <$50, its an absolute steal, in my opinion. I am still baffled when i see people in forums shitting on it. I cant help but think they have never actually listened to it. Sticking with the 4 theme... **TRN MT4 Pro.** A so called "failed co-lab" with HBB. It still has his logo and name on it...so how "failed" it is, i dont know. But its a solid performer with a very similar sound profile to the DZ4's. It too never really got high praise. But for the sale price of <$20, there isnt really much out there that can perform better than it can. For female pop, it has great playback, and like the DZ4, never really gets shouty. https://tonedeafmonk.squig.link/?share=LETSHOUER_DZ4,TRN_MT4_PRO
r/iems β’ Hidden Gems - What's the most underrated IEM in your collection? ->Fosi DS2 is one of the cleanest and most neutral DAC/Amps you can get, and at $50, its a steal. If you HAVE to get something off of that list, then i would go witht he Fiio KA13, just for the Fiio App, and ease of support and firmware updates through Fiio. If you want something without overpowering bass. You can basically write off the Lagato, Fudu, EM6L, Hexa, and DZ4. They all have a rumbly sub bass texture to them, the Legato is basically a bass canon, and a bad one at that. The DZ4 and the Hexa do have a slightly leaner lower mid bass region, but that just makes the sub bass more pronounced sounding. The only really vocal forward, low bass IEM in that list is the Aria2. But it is kinda older now, and i think there are some better tuned IEM's out there with a similar sound signature. The Titan S2 is a good IEM, very balanced, vocals are a little less prominent than the Aria2, but the upper mids have more authority, so female vocals are a little stronger. The mid bass of the Titan S2 is also strong, which can make it feel bassy on some rock or traditional jazz tracks. But it balances nicely with the upper treble. If you want something that has less lower mid kick, the original Titan S, or the Sivga Que, might be a better fit.
r/iems β’ Best IEM + DAC/Amp for Balanced Sound? ->DZ4 is a Dynamic Driver set. It is very lean on bass, and has a warmer treble roll off. Probably not your cup of tea if you like the Chu2 tuning. Also, the S08 is like 200% larger than the CHU2. So dont assume that because they are the same shape they are the same size. They are not. The S08 is significantly bigger. Still comfortable. Just setting expectations. If you like the Chu2 tuning, and want more of that, but in a more detailed and textured experience, check out the Artti R1, its regularly on sale now, and has a very similar tuning to the Chu2. Its regularly on sale now, and is a bargain for <$50. All aluminum construction too. If you want something a little higher in the price tier. My next two recommendations would be the Tangzu FuDu, which has an awesome accessories package of premium tips along with it. Easy to drive Hybrid set with 1 DD and 2 BAs. Next is also a 1DD 2BA set, and that is the AFUL Explorer. Another decent set of accessories, even if not as premium as the FuDu. BUT...it is a little more detailed than the FuDu, and sounds better than its $100ish price tag would suggest. Both of these are 3D Resin Printed IEM's, so...that might not be your cup of tea. But they are very highly regarded. Alternative, if you want something metal, the Kefine Delci AE. I fanboy the shit out of this IEM, but it is one of my favorites. I seem to always go back to it. It is very warm, and engaging, with two tuning nozzles that offer good variation and feel. All metal build, very comfortable. I am in an extreme minority here, but i am not a fan of the EW300. They are detailed. But the sound stage is flat, and details get muddied. And, if you are one of the unlucky few, like myself, Tone Deaf Monk, and JayTis, we all had an issue with the EW300, where it had this weird, almost active noise cancellation feel to them. There have been a couple of other reviewers that have also commented about similar weird interactions with stacked drivers like the EW300. Now YMMV. But generally, the EW300 is very flat, and narrow feeling, and that is about as far away from the Chu2 tuning as you can get. So be forewarned of that.
r/iems β’ Recommendations for Upgrading from Moondrop Chu 2 Under $100? ->Well it depends of course on your music preferences, finances and source of music. May I suggest you disclose a couple of tracks you absolutely adore and would want to sound brilliant with the new IEM. Based on the genres you're into, the recommendations will change. Also mention your budget. Second, unless you are monitoring recorded/ live studio music, analysing technicals, you are not going to enjoy flat tuned iems that people generally recomend. Most people prefer iems with overall good textured thumping bass and sub bass rumble, clean strong vocals and airy crispy treble with a wide soundstage. If you have the option to physically try out IEMs before buying them, you might be able to first time right on purchase. Else, start small and go for starter iems and accessories. Once you are sure about what you like, you'll be able to research and find your endgame iem. I am listing some starter iems based on my listening preferences: Single Drivers. 1. Truthear GATe - Good single 10mm Dynamic Driver, fun sound tuning. Nice bass and vocals , smooth treble. Can be Equlised to make it amazing. Cons. Cheap cable, plasticy, needs 8 core upgrade cable to improve music quality and eq above 4 db boost. 2. Kiwi Ears Cadenza - Good single 10mm DD , fun sound, nice bass , smooth vocals, smooth treble. Can handle EQ well. Looks great. EQ can boost bass and treble and vocals . Cons. Bass is good you will love iems with more thump. 3. 7Hz Crinacle Salnotes Dioko - Single planar driver 14.5 mm. Clean tuning , focus on mids and vocals. Great for vocals and classical music. Can EQ will to boost bass and treble to sound amazing. Good looking set and kit Cons. Can sound muddy with EDMs with out EQ. 4. ARTTI T10 . Good single planar driver 14.2 mm. Great tuning , good bass texture , mids and lows. Sounds amazing on female vocals and instrumental tracks. Good kit, ok looks . Cons. Looks, needs EQ to boost lower mids for male vocals . Tambre is very planar and may sound different to sensitive ears. I recommend Truthear GATe with a better cable or the Kiwi Ears Cadenza as is. Multiple drivers. 1. Kz Vader. 3, 8mm dd drivers. Good bass, mids and treble. Nice soundstage, can handle eq boosts well. Good sound stage. Cons. Need cable upgrade to 8 core (qkz t1 cheap will do) . 2. Kz AM16 bass edition- 8 driver all BA. Good bass, good vocals and treble. Great musicality and comparable to expensive DD iems. Cons. Need better cable 8 to 16 cores. EQ is tricky as the low frequency BA driver is easy to boost , mids not so much. 3. Kz Castor Pro. 2 10mm DD driver. Good bass , good mids and treble.. Can be Equalised to boost bass and treble to sound like endgame bass iems like Punch audio Martillo . Cheap and dynamic. Cons. Need a 8 or 16 core cable (qkz t1) . With EQ this can amaze people . 4. Letshuoer DZ4- three 6mm DDs with a passive radiator. Great sound, good bass and treble. Sounds nice without EQ. Mid focused and perfect for vocals . Good kit and cable. Cons. Looks. 6mm dds do not handle much EQ. Sound is not the best for EDM. I recommend the KZ Castor Pro bass version or the Letshuer DZ4. With EQ and new cable the KZ Castor Pro or Vader will sound better than others.
r/iems β’ Should I get IEM's? ->https://preview.redd.it/0mxqjpak01ce1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57b243ad6c2b6c6b395fbde78234cc9f5401319c Letshouer DZ4. The matte finish and the way the logo is not visible instantly hooked me.
r/iems β’ What is your favorite beautiful looking IEM? ->They are certainly not the worst IEMs ever lol, they do a great job with vocals though but hard to really knock them at all at the price you can get them for at the moment. They have been my best βbudgetβ buy.
r/iems β’ Hidden Gems - What's the most underrated IEM in your collection? ->I would recommend trying them a little louder if you havenβt (if you canβt do loud then might not be a set for you). 100% agree that at lower volumes nothing pops out as special.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->If you like listening loud they are fine, I do agree that I would remove them if you listen at quieter volumes they are a bit lifeless. Vocals sound great for the price if you like it loud.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->Probably the DZ4. Just wished it had a bit more midbass
r/iems β’ The Technical Prowess (Dunu DK3001-BD Review). ->I think Kiwi Ears Cadenza and Kefine Klean are very versatile, meaning they sound good in every genre you play on them. If you want more bass, it's either QKZ x HBB or KZ Castor Pro Bass but the bass is too much for my liking. For vocal-leaning IEM, I would say Letshuoer DZ4 is unbeatable if you want vocals but don't mind the lackluster bass. All these are great pairs so pick one that has better deals for you.
r/Tech_Philippines β’ Recommend any IEM, wired earphones or Bluetooth that could be capable of lossless for Spotify ->I like my Fission and DZ4 for those 2. But since you mentioned you ok with 300usd then maybe go up to the Tanchjim Origin or Fola.
r/iems β’ IEMs for a very specific case. ->Letshuoer DZ4 - oh dear.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->They sounded lifeless, almost as if they didn't know what they wanted to be. Muffled, incoherent, garbled mess. Worth noting I lean towards warm of neutral.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->I read the reviews, thought yeah, why not, on a discount, give them a go. I really can't fathom who they're for, even as an "interesting tuning" thing. Can only like what you like I guess.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->Thank you, but I cut my losses with those a while back. Good advice though, nice one.
r/iems β’ Which IEM made you go 'nope' instantly? π ->Ill separate my answers/tips. - Comfort is 100% all about eartips, I found myself liking the kiwi ears flex in most of all my iems the other options is the divinus velvet. - Klean and the DZ4 should be ur way to go. - Ur Dac is more than enough to drive 98% of available iems in the market. - S12 pro is 2 leagues above the Iems ur trying to buy. Planars IEMs handle EQ really well, before purchasing budget iems to replace them try other eartips and EQ. Your going to be surprise by that driver prowess.
r/iems β’ Letsheour DZ4 or Kefine Klean or Simgot EW200 ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
