If your looking for under 200 I suggest the Meze alba. If you’re looking for under 100 I suggest the moon drop chu 2 under 30 or the blo3 blon by Linsoul. If you wanna ball out get the Fatfreq hbb deuce.
I’ve had it with the Meze alba, s12 pro 2024, kiwi ears astral and now monarch mk4! Great feeling
Meze alba is such a good set. Detailed enough and really pleasant to listen to without being too powerful. It has legitimately become one of my favourite everyday carry sets due to its sound signature and comfortable shells which I can listen to and wear for hours without any fatigue.
Bro, hear me on this. 1. If you're an absolute audiophile then you've got to check the IEM personally and understand what works for you. Since you know your game, you know how it works. 2. If you want to enjoy music, with details, and WITH ABSOLUTE EASE, get them! They are super comfortable and small for the quality they offer. Afterall you'll be sticking them in your ears for hours. Size and comfort totally matters. You should look at the size of the ones in competition, much bigger. Also others are mostly Chi-fi. Meze however is a much reputed Romanian brand. I say, Get 'em! I love mine 100%.
🙏🏼 Happy to help. AMA. Have owned it for almost a year now.
If you really care about fit the Sennheiser IE200 and the Meze Alba’s are around $120-$160 and are super small and comfortable with just one dynamic driver. I’ve only heard the Alba’s but they’re a fun engaging sound that I’ve found works for the genres I listen to (EDM, pop, kpop, rap, orchestral/classical piano). I’m not sure either of these will give you the best vocal clarity you’re looking for but in terms of comfort they’re great.
Coming back to you, I got the Alba, and the comfort is exquisite. They are super light, and I don't really feel them being in my ear like the S08 do. The cable seems maybe a bit cheap and thin, but they include an USB-C dongle, which I think is a fair trade at this price. Got it for 120 euros, and while I'm only sensitive to bad IEMs/headphones, they are at least on par with my FH5s, so I'm extremely happy with the purchase. Seems like the S08 will become "that backup pair" and I'm glad I didn't pay more for it.
NiceHCK F1 Pro, ARTTI T10, Aful Explorer, and at just above that range at $159, Meze Alba (I found an open box set for $99).
Luckily, I figured that out at 1/10th the cost as I quickly realized that almost everything over $200 ranges from a little on the large side to outright boulder sized. I only have 2 IEMs over $200 (I didn’t pay anywhere near that much for either of them) and I’m not going any further until I can be sure that anything new I get both sounds good to me and is small and comfortable. My current favorite IEMs are the Meze Alba and the NiceHCK F1 Pro because they combine really good sound with great comfort.
I love the Alba and don’t find the sound “meh” at all. To me, the Alba sits squarely in the sweet spot of being neither too relaxed nor too energetic; neither too bassy nor not bassy enough; neither bight/harsh nor lacking in treble. Everything sounds “just right” and they are so easy to listen to for hours at a time. That said, I don’t know whether or not they will align with OP’s preferences - seems they may want something more energetic/v-shaped - but they are a great choice, especially when comfort is very high on your priority list as well.
I haven’t heard the Daybreak and I’m not much of a fan of the Hexa. 🤣 I’m not sure what to think of the teardrop shape. I’ve never had anything like that, so don’t know how it would feel. My holy grail for comfort is the Meze Alba. It is the most comfortable in-ear earphone, wired or wireless, I have ever used. It’s the only one I’ve ever encountered about which the statement ‘it just disappears in your ear and you almost forget it’s there’ is actually true. The only other thing in my collection that comes pretty close is the Sony Linkbuds S, which the most comfortable wireless earbud I’ve found.
I love the Alba. It’s sooo comfortable and just sounds so “right.” It’s one I can listen to all day without it being fatiguing, yet it’s not as dark and laid back as the Aful Explorer (which I also like).
Ooh! I have and love the Meze Alba but didn’t know about this one! It may just need to go on my list as a potential dream endgame choice. Although I’m intrigued by, and curious about, so very many mid and upper tier IEMs, I absolutely refuse to even think about paying that kind of money for something that’s not 100% comfortable. Most high end IEMs are absolutely huge and bulky, so not an option. But this one looks to be shaped just like the Alba, which is the most comfortable IEM I’ve ever used. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye on it and see what the reviews say about the sound.
The Xenns Mangird Tea Pro is my favorite because it’s resolving and detailed yet still musical. Honorable mention (and seemingly slept on in my opinion): the Meze Alba. They don’t necessarily “wow” you or hit some magical audio marker. But, that analogue, organic sound profile and comfort are top tier.
The Alba is my favorite IEM… easily. Best quality: comfort. 2nd best quality: comfort. 😏 And they sound great with almost ever genre except big bass hip-hop tracks that need massive rumble. The Albas are my go to for Jazzy Soul tracks; Hi-Res 70s classics from bands like the Eagles, Doobies, and Steely Dan; acoustic joints from Gordon Lightfoot thru to Adele; and funky jazz songs like “Feels So Good” (Chuck Mangione), “Rise” (Herb Alpert), “Morning Dance” (Spyro Gyra), and “Carmel” (Joe Sample). They are so balanced that you don’t realize how good they sound until you A/B with other IEMs. The Albas are effortless. And musical. Natural timbre. Smooth treble but plenty of sparkle. High quality bass but not bombastic by any means. Just enough low end to make things full and fun. Oh, and the dongle that comes with the Meze Alba is actually great with other IEMs. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
Appreciate your comment. Thank you. My two favorites are the Meze Alba and Truthear Hexa. I just posted a detailed reply to another community member but will speak to them here as well: The Meze Alba just work. They sound good. Every time. With Every. Thing. They vibe best with jazzy soul, smooth jazz, and laid back R&B but can stretch all the way from alternative hip hop to classical; 70s singer-songwriter to neosoul. No, they don’t do big bass hip-hop or certain electro-pop tracks but I personally don’t listen to that stuff anyway. If I only have one set of IEMs, I chose the Meze Alba. Oh, and they are hella comfy. No other IEMs come close to their comfort. Not. Even. Close. The Truthear Hexa are my other favorite. They present music so very well. So honestly. They just feel like you are listening to the song as intended by the artist. They are leaner in the mid bass and slightly brighter in the treble as compared to the Alba but… man, the Hexa pair are just really good in every way. Simple as that. The Aful IEMs continue to be mentioned here so I’m gonna look into those for sure. Thanks.
My favorite IEMs are the Meze Alba. They are very musical—with plenty of resolution and technical agility. Comfort for my ears is unmatched. My favorite DAC is the FiiO BTR15. I like the Bluetooth flexibility, PEQ options, and ability to connect via USB-C when I want full Hi-Res. Thanks for asking!
The Alba is my favorite IEM. Super comfortable.
Different. But, yes, the Meze Alba are organically better to my ear. I can connect the Meze Alba to my iPad mini with the included dongle and just listen to lossless tracks without any EQ needed. None. Track after track. They sound amazing. Across a variety of genres. Consistently great but maybe not blow your socks off each listed. They just work. Really well. Every time. With the S08, it sounds very good with a direct connect to a portable device like that but really wake up when I go 4.4 balanced plugged into my K7BT DAC amp and sourcing Hi-Res files from my MacBook Air with EQ engaged. The S08s really come alive with more power and EQ on. So, I’m keeping both. The Albas are my chill down go to pair. The S08s are the ones I reach for when working at my desk. Hope that helps.
