Hey op, moondrop chu doesn't have a mic too for the 3.5 version, if you want mic then go with dac usb c version, also the mic quality is superb for this price Also if you want mic and 3.5 version, then you can grab the 3.5 ones and purchase good cables and a dac( if ur phone doesn't have a 3.5 mm jack)
fyi from a fellow Moondrop Chu Chu user Moondrop pake filter biar soundnya bagus, filternya bisa clog dan ngak ada suara Kalo mau bener harus dibersihin, ngak mau ribet order replacement filter straight dari webnya (shipped directly dari ch, lupa brp waktu itu. Dikasih kayak 10 sets dari mereka) When it’s working, it sounds amazing. (Also packagingnya top tier) Until it doesn’t.
Tanpa filter suaranya kacau, kek rasanya bass lu rata kiri, treble lu ratain kanan- (trust me ngak enak) Seri chu emang dua duanya pake filter (Edit : Aria pake filters too) Chu 1 vs Chu 2 - pretty sure same stuff diff tuning \- Chu 2 Kablenya bisa di detached \- Chu 1 lebih flat, Chu 2 lebih V shape (actually a good thing- liat graphnya chu 1 flat af, impressive for the price, but your average buyer is not a producer. So it helps) Also Chu2(idk if Chu1 does) pake copper buat dalemnya, coppernya oxidized 1 year on use (Ngak ngefek suara- aneh aja earwax warna ijo wkwkwk) Worth it sih (for the price x sound quality), cuman kalo buat daily + longterm jaga jaga aja, also rajin bersihin telinga
My favorite and only IEMs are the moon drop chu originals. Bought them for a long trip overseas and was extremely surprised by how well made they were. I'm no writer but listening to my favorite song on those gave me chills. Still doing my own research on a DAP but wont be neglecting IEMs after ive found my music player.
I use the Moondrop Chu (Mk I) when I get tired of using my usual headphones. They were $13 USD when I got them a couple of years before tariffs (Moondrop is a Chinese company). I didn't get them for work, but I started using them occasionally since I already owned them. Keep in mind these have a somewhat pronounced V-shaped response, and the newer Chu 2 has detachable cables (and I believe the newer ones are a bit flatter). I think they're VERY good, especially considering the price, and they're cheap to replace if/when they break or get lost.
>comparing $100+ TWS buds to $20 IEMs >320Kbps mp3s somehow lossless compared to 256 Yeah I wonder why they didn't sound as good. You weren't comparing at an even price point, and from your own description it's pretty apparent you want something much more bassy than flat, which a single-driver IEM like the Chu2 just isn't gonna manage well. In regards to the fit I haven't used the Chu2s, just the original Chus, but I agree their fit isn't great. Probably one of their main faults imo. But you get what you pay for-- they're routed for being one of the best sounding $20 IEMs, which they are, but at the end of they day they're still only $20. There's plenty of selection that would fit your tastes better, especially at $70-$100, but I'm guessing by your other replies you aren't willing to hear them. but the fact of the matter is you just weren't willing to test them fairly imo.
7Hz X Crinacle Zero 2. Previously used 1st gen moondrop Chu but let's just say there's 2nd gen for a reason :)
not really imo, the moondrop chu 2 (and chu 1), tanchjim bunny, simgot eg280, moondrop aria (and aria 2), truthear nova, crinear daybreak, tanchjim fola, moondrop blessing 3 (and blessing 3 aqua), sennheiser ie600, moondrop psyche, and aroma audio fei wan are all both good for gaming and music listening. And this is only limited to what i've tried so there are so many more iems out there that i haven't tried and is good for both of them
A common trick to fix the filter is also just to put it in your mouth and suck on it really hard. The problem is it will just clog again in a week. Considering the amount of selection for chi-fi IEMs at this approximate price point in 2025 I just don't see it as worth it. Both my Chu 1s and Chu 2s had this issue, Moondrop just doesn't care to fix the issue.
