Actually the Hexa are noticeably cleaner and has better instrument separation than the REDs, it even feels strange at first being able to hear everything in the tracks, so I'd say they are the "true audiophile experience" and the REDs are more fun sound in comparison. The Moondrop Aria 2 seems like a nice choice as well. I haven't tried them but I have a good impression of its specific Dynamic Driver it uses. The same DD is used on the Moondrop MOCA which I own and it certainly delivers good performance despite Bluetooth limitations, so a wired pair would definitely sound great. Last week my Moondrop ROBIN (same Dynamic Driver as the Aria 2) arrived and I'm kinda confused about the fact it outperforms the Truthear Zero REDs in technicalities.

It's nice to hear your impression of them, given you have experience with other sets. I have been using them since Jan 4, swapping between the ZERO:2, Truthear Gate, Zero RED and Hexa and the Moondrop MOCA. At first I was reluctant about placing them above the Zero RED, and got blasted in the comments for saying they sound better than budget wired IEMs. But honestly yes I agree with you. The ROBIN have excellent sound presentation.

I wouldn't call this a review. More of impressions regarding this. First off, the packaging is some of the prettiest I've seen in an IEM. The box is just plain beautiful and has nice color reflections and shine to it. The acrylic stand that comes with it is really nice too! The IEMs itself are so beautiful. Probably the prettiest looking true wireless I've ever used. The case is kinda big BUT very pretty. Putting the pseudo-leather case that comes with the IEMs make it look like a ring box for proposing to someone. The microphones are pretty okay! My girlfriend can hear me a lot better than the microphones on the Moondrop Moca and Golden Ages. The Robin voice prompts are really cute. The voice lines that notify you if it's on noise canceling or transparency is really nicely written (i.e for noise canceling it's "let's quite it down now") Anyways, the most important thing I've bought this for is the sound. It slaps. It slaps for a hundred dollars and it slaps for it especially being a true wireless. The sound is incredibly detailed. Probably the most detailed true wireless I've ever used. It's very clear, the instruments are seperated pretty well, and the sound is rich. Take note though, we all have personal opinions and some IEMs are better tuned for certain people's ears. So take *my opinion with a grain of salt* The sound quality of this gets *somewhat* close to my Truthear Nova. The clarity is there but the separation and details are more there but I can't compare anyways because the Nova is 50 dollars more, hooked up to an amplifier, and is wired. The IEMs really stay in my ears thanks to the free Spring Tips. I shook my head really hard for a few seconds and it didn't fall out my ears. The cons with the Robin is kinda like my Moca. Doesn't remember my Monitor EQ when I throw em in my ears. I have to open the Link app for it enable my Monitor EQ. Overall, they're great. Just don't use them for the gym or anything. They have no water resistance. For true wireless standards, probably the best wireless I've tried especially at this price point. Overall though, I'd give the sound quality an 8.5/10. That's high marks for true wireless for me haha. Take my opinion with a grain of salt still. Anyways, thanks for listening to my IEM TED talk. Have a nice day.

The IEMs are beautiful, light yet feel solid. • The bottom part of the charging case is smooth and very pleasant to the touch. The top lid is a little flimsy, but at least it’s spring loaded. The lid is also a fingerprint magnet unfortunately. • The charging light inside the case is pretty! *Fit* • My biggest problem with stem-style TWS like the Nekocake and all of its derivatives is that they just don’t stay in my ear. • No issues with the Robin whatsoever – they are smaller than appear and fit like a glove. *Sound and comparisons* • Out of the available sound profiles: Classic sounds like way too much highs; Ultra Bass and POP style are unnecessary bass boosts to an already bassy IEM; Standard and Monitor are the two usable profiles. • No manual EQ in the Moondrop app. • Ranking in terms of tuning from most neutral to most “fun”, I would put the IEMs I currently own in this order: 1. Moondrop LAN / Chu I / Blessing 2 (original) – most neutral, vocal-forward 2. Moondrop Moca – little more “fun” than Lan, but overall a great sweet spot while still being vocal-forward 3. Moondrop Robin / Chu II / Kato – bassier, more laid-back sets. Compared to the others, vocals sound a little muted or veiled. • In terms of details, the Robin is slightly more capable the Lan or Moca, but overall due to the cleaner tuning I still much prefer the Lan or Moca. • Soundstage is better on the Robin compared to Lan or Moca. *Other relevant points* • Firmware version was 1.2.0 out of the box, updated to 1.2.1 via the app. • By default, LDAC and proximity sensor are turned off and need to be activated via the Moondrop link app. • Noise floor is the lowest among any TWS I ever heard. The Sparks, Nekocake etc. have MUCH more noticeable static noise when playing music normally. The Robin is a much better choice for ASMR since during silent sections you almost can’t hear any static. • ANC works alright. I’m no expert on the subject but I guess if this is a priority for you, Moondrop won’t be your first pick. ***TL:DR*** • This is a big step up for Moondrop in terms of build, comfort, and battery life compared to Nekocake and its clones, and finally a worthy successor to the Sparks; • Unfortunately for me, this is tuned closer to the Chu II / Aria / Kato than the Blessing 2 / Lan / Original Chu. I’m too lazy to EQ so will be probably selling these or keeping them for movies/ASMR exclusively.

Never tried the linkbuds, I would assume the Robins are better in tuning and details. I have tried Airpods pro 2 briefly, as well as Earfun Air Pro 4.

I prefer the tuning on the Moca. The Robin and Air Pro tunings are similar to each other - more harman-ish than neutral, with vocals not as forward as on the Moca. In terms of details, there's no deal-breaking difference between the three. The Earfun has all the codecs you need, the app is (slightly) better, battery life (advertised) is better. Overall, the build and reliability of the Earfun seems better than Moca for me. Also, you should be aware there are multiple people reporting significant issues with the latest firmware on the Moca, and Moondrop likely won't release a fix until the end of Chinese new year, so there's that. Already sold my Robin so not able to do a comparison in terms of ANC. In terms of background noise, Moca is the noisiest, Earfun has some noise, and Robin practically has none.

Depends on what you're comparing them to, for me they're on the bassier side but I don't know if they're bassy compared to Airpods.

Usually, iems are pretty sensitive to eq, so you could always try that before jumping into a new pair. That said, ARTTI T10 or the Simgot EW300’s in a similar price range are both pretty good. I prefer a v-shape signature for rock in general, and these two hit above their price point. There’s also the Kiwi Ears KE4 which I’ve read are tuned to be like listening to speakers, but I’ve never heard them and they’re more than twice the price of the others. I currently run Moondrop Aria 2’s and Moondrop Robin’s (tws) as my daily driver iem’s and love them both, but they’re also a step up in price a little bit (~$100). The Aria 2’s I’m not convinced are upgrades to the T10 or EW300, but I already have them and think they sound great so I’m not worried about it. The Robins as wireless iems are so dope though. Super happy with them. I’ve also found that tips can make a pretty big impact on iems, and both comply foam tips and spring fit tips have made a huge impact in sound quality by improving the seal. All that said, sound is pretty subjective. Sometimes you just have to find something that you like more than you dislike, and be happy with it. It’s an expensive rabbit hole. I’m lucky that I grabbed a pair of Fostex TH-X00’s about 10 years ago that ended my search for headphones by being everything I wanted at a price I was ok with. Even after listening to $1000 Focal cans nothing I heard I thought justified a $600 price increase. They were a little bit better, but not $600 better. To me. Hopefully you can find a pair you’re happy with sooner than later! It’s fun, but as seen on the iem and headphone subreddits, you can end up buying an awful lot of pairs searching for what you want and iems in particular are near impossible to test before buying. Just read reviews, learn what sound signature you prefer (v-shape, neutral, etc) and hope for the best.

Yes, at its cost it’s the best TWS you could grab especially for your purpose and has hi res bluetooth support. It’s decently spacious for TWS and it’s one weakness is a slightly wonky treble. The only l thing I want to leave as an alternative option is getting a Bluetooth earhook for a moondrop iem you like. But this won’t have ANC and other features TWS has and finding a good one may be challenging. So ultimately, if I were you, Robin it is.

Considering your budget, I stand by Robin being the best TWS for sound, detail, and stage at that cost. Particularly since you want something similar to what you got for IEMS. That and the Robin actually is an IEM itself, unlike others that are just buds.

Up to you. For me though, I personally think that the Moondrop Robin is solid but it's a collaboration product, so it's likely that Moondrop didn't cheap out for this particular product because been using it for a few months and it held up much much better than the Aria ever could.

Apart from the Linkbuds S, I can't find another competitor here against the Moondrop Robin. It's a shame that Moondrop isn't more well-known. TBH, Moondrop's Space Travel and the Robin headphones just completely eviscerate the budget and mid-tier market. The Robin's might have the best audio quality when compared to the main brands for consumers (Sony, Apple, Bose, and Sennheiser). I would definitely be using my Robin's more, but I can't give up how much I love the Technics AZ80s though.

That describtions sums up the sound of Robin. It's not bass heavy but it's not lacing in bass for me and does not sound thin. It has great clarity in the mids, very good for female vocals. But it does have Robin's voice prompts when you turn on the tws, connecting to you device, and switcing the mode. For some people this can be a deal breaker. Some dont want to have anime girl voice in their tws.

They sound great for the price, but the carrying case is very thick and bulky so it might not be the most convenient pair to carry around.

If you’re looking in this price range I’d argue they’re probably one of if not the best. From what I’ve seen, it’s the only hybrid at this price point for TWS.

No, it's held back by bluetooth as usual. Otherwise, for a bluetooth pair, I find Moondrop often sounds really close for the sub-100 range. If someone stuffed these in my ears while I'm blind, I could tell. If you want a pair that'll last longer, I much prefer the Golden Ages or even Moca. And if you can, spring for the Robins if you like IEMs, they'll be better overall. Golden Ages uses the same bud design. Sound profile wise, I prefer the Golden Ages' more analytical and neutral sound, and I wish that was in the Robin. If I were to be able to choose only one for day to day, every day, I'd take the Robin. Frankly, just spring a bit higher and it'll last you a long time coming.

Get Moondrop Robins. The Space Travel 2 bud design is the exact same as Space Travel 1/Moca/Golden Ages so if you have issues with that, fuck it. I find the Robins much more comfortable, like classic IEMs.
