Myer Audio - CKLVX D41

Random fellow metalhead commenting from the void in the future. Had been on the hunt for a pair of IEMs that did 2 main things: not annoy the family over the holidays like my Hifiman Edition XS would with its 0 isolation lol, tame raw screaming vocals and guitars that ran hot on the mics. The CKLVX D41 definitely did the job, your review helped break the tie of considered options after having first arrived to the Myers from another rabbit hole. Its upper mids and low-middle treble regions are basically a reverse of the Edition XS which accomplished what I hoped it would, Metalcore is just a rough genre in non-speaker setups. Only just arrived this afternoon so im still trying to feel out how well balanced armatures can tolerate a mild EQ around the 5.5k mark, presence is pulled back just a litttttle too much for me but is otherwise fine Anyway, thanks bunch for the work you do my dude.

My concern is the SM4 would be potentially harsh in the treble for you based on the S12 as some people don't like that piezo. Instead, try the Myer CKLVX D41/Pula PA02 which adds that little bit of bass and a little less sizzle in the treble but still has sparkle... Similar to what you're EQ preferences are. It can be found on sale for $120 rather than the CK2V which might be a bit too sharp in the treble.

Cklvx is very similar to the xenns tea 2, but with more air. Also with lower end drivers, so it’s not as refined….but for $130 that set is baller.
