U kinda rescribed Explorer. Warm and chill and u can crank it up very high for me not the best for metal prefer it for everything else but mostly for osts. Best Minecraft soundtrack ever. It's quite intimate so if u want more excitement Sla3 is your pick, love listening to metal with it. Sound feels like coming from everywhere instead of kinda closed explorer. If u want explorer but more bass and fun u want Odyssey. From what I have tried it's all I can recommend. May is all rounder that does
There is no best because u have so many tunnings. I tried only few and Below 20$ piccolo is amazing Below 100$ explorer and Sla3 are lovely, hexa is okay just not a fan of neutral running but takes EQ well.
Faul Explorer for chill and engaging listen, and Sla3 for that amazing energy and how open it is so they are completely different as aful is more intimate
Mostly got them from jays. He recommended me explorer and Sla3, loved both.
Sla3, explorer and may sounded good when I got them, nothing changed afterwards still like them and loved explorer. Why would I keep something that I don't like
Sla3 didn't fit me as I couldn't get the seal and it still sounded great. Odyssey fits great on 6/8 ear tip types I have
Have explorer and cant reccomend it for metal. It just sound rly closed, sla3 on the other hand was amazing. Very open and engaging. Vocals were energetic, guitar had the power and the bass hits hard enough.
Just checked the price and explorer as well as sla3 are the same or cheaper price. Sla3 is still my favourite iem for metal music and if u want even more immersion maybe look at the explorer
1/ Aful Explorer / Juzear Defiant --> Adorable set. Loved by all the community, I bet you'd like it to, it's really beginner friendly, and the warm sound is really good. It's a must have, to me. Both of the sets are a really safe option if you don't know what you like. 2/ Letshouer S12 Pro / Artti T10 (a bit cheaper) -> S12's are probably one of the best budget iems rn, in this segment, they are wonderfully well rounded, treble, bass, and the mids. Well I might be a bit biased, but I absolutely adore Planar bass. Fast, composed, impactful. 3/ Myer Audio Sliivo SLA3 -> One of the best tribrids in this segment, wonderfully done, quality is top notch. But may not suit to your taste. It's quite underrated. 4/ Sivga Que UTG -> it's a really good set, good at analytics. Almost performs like planars that I've heard of, despite it fundamentally being a diddy. (DD) There's also CKLVX CK2V, Kiwi Ears KE4, Simgot Supermix4 and yada yada
I agree with Ferox. I have the Explorer and I don't like it for metal. Distorted guitar chords lose their bite, grit, and intensity. I recommend Moondrop Kadenz. The SLA3 also has a similar tuning but sacrifices bass texture/timbre for exaggerated sub-bass, and has an unnatural peak at 5k that some people might find grating and fatiguing.
IEMs I love in the $20 range: Wan'er Jade 2, AGA Sound Aga 1, Wyvern Black Re-imagined; Simgot EW100 $50-$75- In Awaken Dawn MS, Artti 10, Simgot EW300, EPZ Q Pro, TRN Shark $75-$110ish- Meyer-Audio Sliiva SLA3s, BGVP Feather (my favorite IEM without respect to price), Siivga Que UTG, Azla Horizon 2. $150-$300ish Meyer Audio CKLV D62; Letshouer Cadenza 4; ivpQ Conch V12 New IEMs I like a lot: KZ Duet (weird but sound great) Photon Pro 2 (weird but sound great), EarAcoustic STA-PRO, and **LETSHUOER D02**, maybe the most comfortable IEM I've ever put [in.my](http://in.my) ears.
You know, take the list of sub $50 IEMs recommended here- research them, and buy a couple that seem from the reviews to suit your listening tastes. Try to spend less than $25 on a pair or two, and then research what an upgrade to the one you like best is- I'd do that before I spent the $175. I can tell you that I would buy the s12 Ultra, the Myer-Audio Sliivo SLA 3s, the BGVP Feathers, the Siigva Que UTG, the TRN Shell, and the Artti T10s, some of which are MUCH less than $100, some less than $50.
Like with a lot of expensive items there are diminishing returns. Currently I'd say the sweet spot for IEMs is in the $100 - $300 range. The main improvement I have noticed is with more expensive IEMs is imaging and instrument separation, but even in a lot of those cases you won't really notice it unless you're listening very attentively. "Audiophiles" like to use colourful language when reviewing their premium, expensive audio products but a lot of the time you have to keep in mind that it is just them trying to justify all the money they have spent. Also you have to keep in mind that driver tech eventually makes its way down to the budget realm. Something tuned like say a Hidizs MS2 Pro or a Myer SLA3 would have cost you a lot more a few years back but today are around $100
