I tried them recently it was a great experience they cost me 12 dollars they have good details and great bass. I don't have much experience in EQ if anyone has profiles to modify the sound to become better I hope to help us with it.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->These are by far the worst IEMs I have ever tried. Gave them a fair listen and tip rolled. They are just awful. Muddy, bloated, no detail retrieval, but that does not make them good laid back iems. There are no dynamics, no energy, no resolution. Takes me back to when I was a teenager wtih dialup internet and was downloading porn from limewire at 144p, similar sound resolution. At least I only got them for $10. I almost want to say these posts are shilling but will not since I have no evidence.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->https://preview.redd.it/u4v2ms8w15me1.png?width=762&format=png&auto=webp&s=3670ca9734166043a7156f38ff0a6d53e1f5608d ***DAC/AMP used for testing is FiiO K5 PRO ESS (New Version with ES9038Q2M chip) Gain set to medium.*** This is my first iem review so any constructive criticism is good. ND Planet iem (16$ USD) Packaging for the ND Planet IEM is very minimalistic which is good considering the price of the iem and the audience they are targeting. The ND Planet’s appearance is almost like a cheap toy but is also unique in a way which separates itself from other iems with plain single color metal shells. The fit is average, very light-weight iem due to the plastic shell. I had purchased the Transparent Black color version of the ND Planet. Nozzle has a lip to help keep eartips in place and the nozzle diameter is about 5 to 5.1mm wide. Inside the box, the iem comes with some generic semi-transparent white eartips installed. In the accessories portion of the box there is a white non-resealable small packet with different sized stock eartips along with a small user manual and warranty card. There is also a generic black braided plastic cable with earhooks inside of a white resealable bag with ND’s logo on it. There is no chin slider on the iem cable. Not much microphonics when the cable touches clothing due to how thin and light it is. The connector type is recessed QDC 2-pin type which is what most CCA and KZ iems use and has a 3.5 mm connection. The earhooks are made very tight so if you have big ears you might have to use a heat gun to straighten out the hooks more. The connector heads are unmarked so you will have to hope one side is right when connecting, and listen to a surround sound test to see if the audio positioning is correct. **I do not recommend using these iems with the stock eartips because it will make your audio experience very unenjoyable unless your goal is to be using these as beater iems when going outside/ travelling around. There are cheap eartip options which will slightly help improve sound quality such as Tri Clarion, Penon Liqueur Silicone tips etc.** Positional audio is not good enough for gaming especially FPS/Tac Shooters, the soundstage is very narrow and 2 dimensional. This is especially bad for people who listen to music/streams while playing games as it can make audio cues harder to hear than normal and certain audio cues might be missed completely. Basically feels as if instruments were recorded and put on the left and right side of your ear rather than sitting in a room with the instruments playing all around you. Tuning is okay for the price but when listening to audio, the right ear sounds slightly muffled. The frequency response in the 5k to 15k range takes a big dip which probably explains the difference in perceived audio between left and right ear. Subbass, midbass, mids performance is average for the price not many negatives to say. To further elaborate, the stock tuning bass is okay and is somewhat similar to the ***\*Chu 2*** **(according to TheAudioStore’s frequency response graphs)** and can rumble, but lacks any texture **(for ND Planet)** when listening to songs and is not very satisfying to me. The most accurate way to describe how the bass feels when listening to songs is that it’s more of a thump with no texture. Uppermids and treble are mediocre considering the 12 mm beryllium driver inside this iem. There is no extended treble or hint of any air in audio, which makes the stock tuning sound botched in a way. I was able to slightly remedy this problem by using eq to adjust the frequency response slightly. The stock tuning sounds slightly better when used with Tri Clarion tips but not by much. The eartips I used for listening were the (Tri Clarion Large brown stem eartips). After eq’ing the iem it sounds better than Apple earpods so if you want a cheap iem but need eq to unlock its full potential then this might be a good option. In conclusion, the ND Planet has somewhat average (arguably below average) performance for it’s price range and very good driver inside the iem… just could’ve been tuned better (for the one I’ve bought). eq I used with Tri Clarion Large tips if interested (Windows Volume at 30): Preamp: 0.2 dB Filter 1: ON LSC Fc 105 Hz Gain -12.4 dB Q 0.71 Filter 2: ON PK Fc 162 Hz Gain -4.6 dB Q 1.07 Filter 3: ON PK Fc 169 Hz Gain 0.7 dB Q 2.71 Filter 4: ON LSC Fc 174 Hz Gain 10.8 dB Q 0.52 Filter 5: ON PK Fc 269 Hz Gain -1.3 dB Q 1.32 Filter 6: ON PK Fc 366 Hz Gain -0.7 dB Q 2.90 Filter 7: ON PK Fc 760 Hz Gain 1.0 dB Q 2.07 Filter 8: ON PK Fc 1858 Hz Gain -2.8 dB Q 1.12 Filter 9: ON HSC Fc 2200 Hz Gain -0.4 dB Q 0.35 Filter 10: ON PK Fc 2893 Hz Gain 5.4 dB Q 2.34 Filter 11: ON PK Fc 2947 Hz Gain -2.6 dB Q 1.56 Filter 12: ON PK Fc 3525 Hz Gain 1.5 dB Q 4.00 Filter 13: ON PK Fc 4539 Hz Gain -2.2 dB Q 4.00 Filter 14: ON PK Fc 6739 Hz Gain 5.4 dB Q 0.83 Filter 15: ON HSC Fc 10000 Hz Gain 5.6 dB Q 0.71
r/iems • ND Planet small review ->Its not just HBB but also other people on this subreddit hyping up this set, so it set my expectations slightly higher than average. I honestly thought they would be better and I tried listening to them with my iPhone 11 Pro and they still did not sound very well even with eq. If somebody gets one for 6-7$ though then thats definitely worth it.
r/iems • ND Planet small review ->Pretty bassy, but the bass is defined and fast, i like that, is not bleeding too much into the lower mids, nice pinna gain, male vocals are better than instrumentals and female vocals, is weird how the upper treble and air takes such an early dip but i think with this 12 mm driver, it can work. Edit... More elaboration. Is pretty technical, i like the presence in the mids, good noteweight, is clean, good resolution and imaging, good soundstage, is holographic, for the price is very good.
r/iems • ND-Planet ->I also took the plunge on this, might post about mine soon. Try some EQ, works super well
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->They definitely need eq but for $17?! insane value.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->Ive tried a few budget iems and I think this is my favourite tonality of the bunch. It just amazes me that all I did was apply a little bit of eq (bass and upper treb lift) and all of the sudden it becomes significantly better than a lot of iems ive tried that cost more. Maybe its the fact that it is so cheap that makes me like it so much when im deep in the over 1k game, but idk I cant stop listening to it.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->For me, the planets sounds very different to my other iems, more bas, less detail and sound stage. But they are very musical, great for party music. I'd say, for 17 bucks, they are fantastic.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->I really liked this phone, I would say it's better than the 7hz Salnotes Zero and that's no small feat. A very fun phone and, for me, sufficiently detailed. I didn't notice anything wrong with it, except in some specific mixes. Furthermore, my unit has an impressive sensitivity, so much so that on daps like the Yophoon X15 I hear it at a maximum of 12/100 volume steps.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->If they were at the same price as KZ EDX they would break the market
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->I didn't even know Indians were audiophiles 🤣🤣
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->I listened and thought this phone was nothing short of EXCELLENT. I heard it with jazz and other psychedelic things. At first it seemed a little artificial but soon became above average bass, the highs seem distant, but they are there. I heard drums, percussions and pianos very well in the last octaves. Everything is very musical and pleasant, nothing confusing. It looks like a drive wrapped in Bic pen material, but if it were sold at the price of a KZ EDC PRO it would break the market
r/iems • Do NOT believe the hype. The ND Planet iems sound as cheap as they look. ->Review for ND-Planet So, lately I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about this set of iems, bought a pair to be Reddit's Guinea pig! First thoughts: these are the best iems under $50 and I can see why some people prefer these over Awful explorers, SM4 or other popular iems around the $200 mark. I personally prefer these over my thieaudio hype 2s, similar tuning style to the Prestige Ltd, neutral with boosted bass. Sound signature: as mentioned above neutral with a little bass boost. Sound Quality: the music notes have weight to them, the single DD really pushes the air, making you feel the music really well, not too much to be fatiguing, actually really well done. While the details are ofcourse, are essentially non-existent, this a a very fun listening experience, not for people trying to analyze every note. Soundstage/imaging: it's pretty much what you expect out of a $50 set, the soundstage won't be anything worth noting, it's still pretty much in your own headspace. Zero vertical soundstage, Listening to One by Metallic, the helicopter at the beginning sounded like it flew beside my head. These have surprisingly good imagining (not sure how accurate for fps gaming), one by Metallic was a good song to test both of these aspects. Build quality: awful, Im pretty sure I can destroy these from just pinching my fingers hard enough together, with 50% effort. The cable is thin, but I like the earhooks and it doesn't tangle, so cable is a plus. Comparisons: I don't really have a comparison for these, they don't sound like anything I've tried yet, maybe close to the tuning of my prestige ltd but with a bit more boosted bass and a lot less detailed.. The chu 2 and salsnote zeros are 2 levels worse than these, if that helps you understand where they stand for me. As I said earlier, I prefer these over my hype 2s. TLDR: the hype is real, these are great for the price if you're looking for a neutral sound signature with a lil emphasis on the bass.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->It's $25 CAD, it's gonna have issues, also it's reasonable enough for someone to prefer a tuning signature over everything else. If details were everything, then everyone would be into iems. You are welcome to disagree, but I don't think i gave it any special treatment, I said what I said, I prefer it over my hype 2s but nothing more than that. I'm trying to see where you're coming from, but I don't have those issues other than the bass being a little bloated, but it's not much at all compared to other iems I've tried costing 4x the price. I'm also trying to keep in mind these are $25, so I'm being a little lenient on my opinion.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->What, Are you high? There's literal YouTube videos from headphones.com with them blind testing iems, and almost no one liked the more expensive iems. Also, thieaudio hype 2s are lacking in bass and have a sound veil over the vocals, the mid bass bloated the treble a lot as well in the hype 2s. They also cost 1/10 of the price of the hype2s, So yeah, I definitely like these more. Do you even own a pair of hype 2s?
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->The seal was awful for me too, had to really push them in, not uncomfortable, just had to push harder than usual.
r/iems • The hype was real on the ND-planets. ->These are extremely impressive for the price, I agree, imo these are the best budget kings.
