If you can afford the MKIV, it is truly amazing, metal shell, tuning switches that make it a very close MKII tuning or a MK3-LTD. If not that I would say the tea pro or odyssey 2 for less bass, I personally regret and truly hated the top pro, I loved the vocals but there was in fact some weird warm. And the 3D shell IMHO was a downgrade from resin builds, felt like I could crush it. Could be a pro for you if you really hate the weight of IEMs. The RSV MKII looks nice and graphs amazing but for a 5BA set, 700$ seems a little much tbh. Dawn X looks great, but the only thing to consider is if you care about bass it definitely is more balanced or reference tuning, so is the MKIV but has 2 options if you ever want to tone it up or down. PLUS, it doesn’t have a lip on the nozzle so tips could get stuck in your ear every now and then. I'll end by saying that the MKIV is basically a better top pro, with rumble off it graphs almost identical, and has ESTs. Top pro has a very noticable mid bass scoop and thats what most reviewers dislike when they say it doesnt have enough bass. If you want something more affordable than the MKIV while being like the top pro I would look at the NiceHCK Rockies, for the same 500$ you get more for your money (BUT doesn't have a lot of bass, tea pro would be the better alternative).
r/iems • Comment best 2025 IEMs please? Which are you excited for? ->NiceHCK Rockies is gonna be best for neutral. Dont need to spend more
r/iems • What is THE best neutral iem ->Марк очень хорошо разбирается в графиках, но это не всегда работает.
r/iems • Something's off with the NICEHCK Rockies reviews on Head-Fi. ->Another Kima 2 shill here haha, I can only speak of those I've tried but Kima 2 musicality>Yu9 Que, NiceHCK Rockies and XENNS Tea Pro(only slightly more than Tea Pro though). Obviously not as technical.
r/iems • Top Pro Alternative ->Oh man, I just scrolled through some of the reviews, and some of them are oddly nitpicky vs their reviews of brands they glaze. I have heard the Rockies so I actually agree with some of their takes but they could have been less biased about it. The treble is boosted while staying smooth and free of sibilance, but still too much for my taste. You will see average soundstage width and height being repeatedly mentioned which was also my experience. Bass has nice weight despite the IEM leaning bright, but it's not particularly standout in texture, comes off slightly bloomy. Subjectively speaking it does lack personality, and I actually prefer the Truthear Pure to the NiceHCK Rockies. It's not boring sounding per se but it is tuned similarly to a lot of other new releases albeit with more treble so I can see why people are starting to get tired of seeing the same thing again.
r/iems • Something's off with the NICEHCK Rockies reviews on Head-Fi. ->My dream is Aful Dawn X, but they are expensive for me. That's why I bought NiceHCK Rockies and I'm really happy about their sound
r/iems • Comment best 2025 IEMs please? Which are you excited for? ->Nice review! I got to try these out recently and I wasn't massively impressed from a value perspective. To me they seemed to compete around the $250 mark, but they are actually $499. The bass in particular was a let down, especially for the price. Something like an Odyssey is half the price and competes very strongly against the Rockies. If they were in the $250 to $300 range I'd be happier (I still wouldn't get them as the bass is too soft and pillowy for me), but at $499 I wouldn't even be tempted in any way.
r/iems • NiceHCK Rockies Review ->Yu9 Que - shockingly good for the price. If youre looking for the best iem at $400-500, this is it IMO Truthear Pure - warm tilted jm1 but very well balanced. If you like Hexa but found bass to be a turn off, pure has much, much better bass quality. Penon Archangel - best mild -V iem Ive heard to date. And incredibly fun to listen to. NiceHCK Rockies - megafest but less dull with tighter bass, faster, clearer transients. A bit bright but not overly so Haven't heard it but from what I can tell from feedback/impressions, Hercules Noah is also shaping up to be one of the best releases this year.
r/iems • What's the best IEM release of 2025? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
