Variance is a big problem in chifi. But if you get a good one, keep it. My cheapo qkz hbb set sounds fantastic, the upgrade, hbb Khan, sounds meh.. Something wrong with it, some sort of gap in the upper mids.

Cheap ones: Kbear Rosefinch, Whizzer/Opera Factory OS1 Pro, CCA CRA, More pricey ones: 7Hz Legato, QKZ x HBB Hades, Campfire Audio Honeydew. In case you are looking for a cheap one I would go for the Rosefinch. If you have more money to burn, probably the Honeydew would suffice. :) I only have the Castor Bass and I also had the QKZ x HBB Khan (not the standard QKZ x HBB), but for me the Castor was way better.

Xuan nv won't sound like qkz hbb, its more of a flat tuning, with darkish treble (like on qkz x hbb). If you really like the tuning of qkz x hbb then the possible upgrade is blon z300 x hbb. It should sound the same, but with higher quality drivers, and a little bit brighter treble. Qkz x hbb is my favorite iem and I can't find anything i like more. I hope the z300 won't disappoint. I tried nearly all warm-bass heavy iems with tamed treble. I just can't find anything better. If you want i could give you my opinion on blon z300 vs qkz hbb when I receive them.

Qkz x hbb has way more rumble than castor bass (not pro). I don't think that pro really improves on that aspect. But you need to find the right tips for your ears. Stock qkz hbb tips kinda trash like on most budget iems. Qkz x hbb hades has even more bass, sub bass a little worse than qkz x hbb, but they're more comfortable at higher volume, but it's not for everyone and not for every type of music and it's harder to drive, but i really love them, they're my favorite with qkz x hbb atm. Castor and castor pro are also a little harder to drive. You won't find better bass quality with good quantity at this price than qkz x hbb. Kbear Rosefinch has more quantity but it lacks any rumble and punch for me. Kz saga bass could be a good competitor to qkz x hbb from what I've heard. Also there is new 7hz elua, wich is hbb colab, also could be something interesting, but a little bit more expensive. I'm waiting for both of those and more pairs to hear them, since i can't really find anything to replace qkz x hbb. I'd say go with qkz x hbb. They're absolute beasts for hip hop and any other genre really, if you're into dark sound signature which helps bass. Qkz x hbb hades are absolutely fucking insane for hip hop, but could be lacking in other genres, but i like them for most other music too. But for movies i always use qkz x hbb.

I don't think you can get disappointed by 7hz legato, especially if you can get them at 70$. I'm testing them atm. My favorite iem before getting legato was qkz x hbb, at 10-12$ you just can't beat them. I tried kbear rosefinch, kz castor bass, kz castor pro bass, qkz hades, qkz khan, truthear zero blue. Qkz x hbb and 7hz legato destroys them in the bass department. It's very punchie and rumblie. And at the same time it's clean. Correct tips are very-very crucial when you are looking for good bass. Atm I can't say with 100% confidence what i like more, but I'm leaning to legato heavily. I feel like legato has a bit more bass, with a bit more quality and clarity. The soundstage is definitely wider, and it has more details, thanks to 2 driver setup. Talking about drivers. It's fucking nuts that it has 12mm driver just for bass. And 6mm for everything else. Also it's less shoutier than qkz x hbb somehow. Note that qkz x hbb is already a very dark set for most people. I have very bad sibilant hearing and the legatos sound more comfortable for me. Is it 7-10 times better than qkz x hbb? No. But it's worth the shot imo, not like there's a lot if any sets that are legato alternatives in this price range. Note that they are big, but i don't have any issue with fit. I have yet to receive blon z300, 7hz elua, kz saga bass, kz prx. But i don't think they're beating legato or qkz hbb. Although I'm hyped to hear how planars replay bass on kz prx. Also I'm in the same boat with you. I don't get obsession with clarity. But to each their own. I just think it's a bit forced. Or I'm for real hearing everything differently compared to most people. But none of my friends prefer sets that are cleaner and less bassy.

First, i forgot to mention, not sure if you know, but im case you dont, im the one that talked to you on your post (the one you linked) about the 4khz sensitivity, so we already have talked :) Technicalities are fine on waner, most iems under $20 arent all that better one from each other, Waner can be used for gaming but you are not going to get the best sound cues, nor a great directional sound, thats the thing, Iems lile Zero 2 would likely be a bit better but not that great on the fit. The other option could be to get the QKZxHBB, but thats very bassy, unless you are from the group of people that enjoy that much bassy stuff, you wont like it much.

you have 3 options: 1.- try your luck again to see if QKZxHBB works (at this price range, the most relaxed bassy one). 2.- Get Tangzu Waner beacuse of the pretty tamed treble and EQ bass into it (Or EQ the treble down ln any other of your iems so you stop wasting money). 3.- Or overpower the treble with bass with something like the Kbear Rosefinch. Other than that, under $20, i dont think there are that many "dark" IEMs to pick from, and this does seem to be a case of sensitivity. but BTW, do you like to listen at high volumes?

Dark iems, specially under $50, are hard to do because most people would be quick to say they are "muddy", i have QKZxHBB and i dont think it has much problems of sibilance, if anything at all, but is a bass centric iem, if you want clarity just EQ more bass into a decent iem, i also have waner and have tried a few bassy EQs and they manage clarity with extra bass fairly well, but is more about the rumble than anything, if you also want punch thats another whole story.

If you are willing to EQ, the Waner actually, otherwise, Rosefinch for full blast Rumble, or QKZxHBB for a still somewhat correct sound. Castor is more punchy than rumbly.

If you want bass the 3 best bassy* options are: KZ Castor Pro Bass for a punchy bass and energetic. QKZxHBB for a rumbly and relaxed, inmersive bassy replay. Or Kbear Rosefinch for a big basshead set that has both Rumble and punch, but really focus on bass over everything else. As for which is the more bassy of the 2 options, is ND Planet.

Rosefinch already has the most amount, anything else is not going to have as much bass, if you want at least a bass quality upgrade, you need to likely go to Around $50 if not more brother, but i am not sure if Blue 2 is the upgrade that you are looking for* btw, didnt said Castor Bass* was basshead level, but is still on the bassy side of stuff. And i dont own all of those, mostly QKZxHBB and Castor, but tried similar budget sets around the price range and i have a few friends that do have them and have compared them.

I already told you my opinions in one of those post i believe, but in my experience the Castor Bass has a lot more bass than QKZxHBB, QKZ Is for me the middle ground, and Zero2 Is the less bassy. The cleanest of the 3 Is the Zero2, second by the Castor, althought you might need to crank the volume for that Clarity, QKZxHBB Is the one with most coloration, but the lesser bass than QKZxHBB makes It a more relaxed listening. That said, probably Zero2 Is the one with less bass hit, just slightly below QKZxHBB tho, castor Bass has the most punchy bass of the 3.

I personally enjoy the QKZxHBB more since i it works better for high volume listening, the bass is rumbly and inmersive and the coloration is not even that bad once you got used to them but it really depends on what you are looking for, Zero 2 is better for more music, QKZxHBB is not be the best for some music genres specially things like acustic or ballads. Castor just kinda works in between but is a more energetic and bassy replay that not everyone could enjoy.

you can use it, but it honestly is not the best option for gaming, if you care about amplification or sounds quality, most iems around $30 or less would be fine for it, but if you plan on do some gaming, other options could be better like QKZxHBb if you like bassy sound, Salnotes Zero 2 for a something overall pretty good sounding for music and nice for gaming, if you can do the strech, at around $30 bucks, the tripowin vivace would ensure a better comfort than Zero 2 and is really well liked around here for gaming.

both should be fine but bass can get distractive if its too much, QKZxHBB has quite some amount of bass, not sure if its going to feel like too much for you tho, but in any case, the vivace would likely be safer sound-wise.

having the QKZxHBB (besides other models like Kefine Klean, and having tested Cadenza, Salnotes Zero blue and so on), there arent that many similar warm options around $50, and around $100 there are options but with some things to consider, first, the closets i think would be 7hz Legato, but not sure how different is going to feel since is also a bass heavy iem but it has more amount of and a stronger presence of bass vs the QKZ one, so thats a bass heavy option if you want one. If you want something just more warm and relaxed, the Aful Explorer is the way, but might be too expensive if is not on a sale, so, Tangzu Fudu, if you can find it, comes quite close, but is a VERY relaxed set, so you might need some time to get used to it even if using the QKZ. And if you have a dongle DAC to power them the Letshouer S08 could also be an excellent choice for warm and bassy. If you havent checked it yet, This is a Sub $100-ish iem list i made: [\- Click Here -](https://www.reddit.com/r/iems/s/OXgg8IsbYi) Youn can get a bit more insgiht on each one of the mentioned iems if you wish.

I wont call the Zero 2 neutral bright, is actually just balanced, and even a bit on the bassy side, if you want a balanced, kinda neutral iem, actually Tangzu waner is closer to that, also focusing on vocals, its a good middle groun, if you want to test bassy, you can either go for the KZ Castor Pro Bass (there is normal and Pro verions, both with bass and harman verions, you want to go for the bass version) to test a bassy V-shaped iem, more energetic, nice punch, and then you can check the Salnotes Zero original for something actually more neutral bright, leaning to vocals and treble. Also, you have alternatives like the Tanchjim Bunny to the Waner, the Kbear rosefinch for a "bass canon", or the QKZxHBB for a bassy relaxed very warm set, for better or for worse tho, there arent that many "bright" options on the budget bracket.

QKZxHBB is bassy but it has more rumble than punch, the Zero 2, with bass adapter, is similar but it likely would have more punch too, which would make for a bit different experience, althought in terms of amount, likely will have around the same amount of bass, as it is not really that bassy to beging with, is harman, which is a V-shape kind of tuning, would it be an upgrade? yeah, but not a direct upgrade if want you want is a bass focus. I dont think you would find something as similar on the sub $50 price bracket, there is the Blon Jojo that might be similar, but is not that well known or well reviewed, something like the Letshouer S08 would be a better direct upgrade, but of course, is more expensive.

First, KZ used to be shady but nowadays is as símilar as most decent brands (TRN, Moondrop, etc) only caveat is they take the honestly not great approach to throw anything to the wall to see what sticks. Besides volume depends on a lot of things, but Castor is not much hard to move so i am a bit worried to whoever said you need a DAC for volume with original Castor Bass. All That said, is just a good entry set, but not super special vs other things nowadays. KZ does use pretty basic accesories and budget build quality on cheaper stuff so i get your point, but models like Castor are realistically as well build as most sub $25 suff on the market, and some of their models, like Castor, have a pretty decent track record of not coming faulty out of box. If you want alternatives, and still want V-shape but not KZ: 7Hz G1, 7Hz Elua *Ultra* (no HBB Elua), Twistura D-minor or at least Moondrop Chu 2 (struggles with humidity, if you live in a humid city, better get other options). (Consider them in that order of recomendation). If you want bassy V: The closest to it are 7Hz Salnotes Zero 2 for kinda balanced bassy sound, still energetic, QKZxHBB for bassy inmersive sound, kinda relaxed tho (Not Hades or Khan, the plain QKZxHBB), or Kbear Rosefinch for a very clear bass leaning. If you want more insight on those models or want to see other alternatives, and If you havent checked it yet: This is a Sub $50-ish iem list i made: [- Click Here -](https://www.reddit.com/r/iems/s/ewQg6y32HB) Youll find most of the iems mentioned there for a bit mode insight on what to expect.

1.- There is no in-between in the hobby XD, you either want bass or not as much, so QKZxHBB is the bare minimun and punch might not be the best (is a bit soft). 2.- Waner? for bassheads? only with EQ, otherwise, no chance. PS: Basshead here speaking XD

under $35 there isnt that many options man. For starters, most iems like Chu2 or maybe 7Hz G1 are V-shaped, so they have a lot of bass but also a lot of treble too, not sure if youll have a problem with that. Known bassy iems that work with gaming are etiher QKZxHBB, which is kinda relaxed, boomy, a more rumbly and "involving" sound with its bass bur also could feel "muddy", not so clear, depending on your tolerance, though still is probably the most bassy recomended one. And in the other hand you have KZ Castor Bass which is more clean but also more energetic and have a more punchy bass but also more energetic treble (is a V-shape too but this one clearly leans on bass if you adjust the sound with the included tuning switches). Both should kinda work but not sure what you'll enjoy better.
