I agree, although the BP4 sounds are clearer at times, I genuinely enjoy the sound of my BP3 far more despite both being on balanced EQ. I will give them a week but as of right now I will be returning them.

Audio quality is better but not really worlds apart as you said. I can notice it side by side but otherwise would not, some bits in songs i often listen to are a bit more detailed though, I'd say an improvement of 15% (not scientific ofc🤣). But honestly the b3p were already really good in that regard. Noice cancelling is way better and actually the reason for me to get these, that was my only complaint(apart from real multipoint) on the buds 3 pro. I haven't tested transparency yet, so can't comment on that yet
There are lots of "features" that dont work on non samsung phones. UHQ mode for starters.. so probabbly not the best ones for non samsung phones...
I feel B3P has a much louder sound. Im on the fence about returning B4P. First gym workout still heard to much commotion sound. I had them all still have buds 2. Just don't use because they fall out sometimes. And really upset with Samsung doing away with trade in program. Die hard Samsung user. And it sucked not being able to trade B2.
Bass jump is huge for me with wavelet eq buds 3 pro would start popping buds 4 pro sound great. Anyways the anc is still weird tho like the more u turn it up the anc gets better but air/wind noises get louder so a trade off for whatever reason. I set it one under max. Comfort is better while I didnt have any problems with 3 pro they definitely feel more compact. Only thing is the swipe should be on the back half like 3 pro and u shouldn't have to sit there and tickle ur ear lol. I use voice controls anyway but ye no far better for me.
> yesyes i know something being "best" is completely subjective and everything have their own pros and cons. I'm first going to trade you a rant for another rant: You've completely missed the point you got so, so close to. It's not just that "best" is subjective (in that everyone's ears are different, as it is for something like audio quality), but that "best" also depends on how one will use the buds, what things are most important to them, and what budget they have. Every day people post here asking for "the best" and it turns out that they mean "within a $100 budget" or "for working in a noisy office" or "for pure audio quality." When you say best, you still need to share us as much information about your budget and what preferences your nephew has. And you can already see this recommendation failure in the range of suggestions -- people are having to guess as to whether you care about sound quality, value, and other things. Anyway, you gave us a few small data points - running, drawing, fit, and well it sounds like you're a really nice aunt/uncle and that you are willing to spend whatever price to get something nice for him. The first issue is that for running and "transparency" - the buds here fall into two camps, (1) open ear which naturally allow sound in, and (2) closed ear with good electronic transparency. And this is where more information is critical--choice (2) is generally better for transparency and also often has easier fit since you're not needing to plug up the ear canal. However, choice (1) tends to have lower overall sound quality and noise isolation/cancellation, and so if your nephew is needing to use these for running AND for when he is trying to peacefully sketch in loud coffee shops, then choice (1) isn't great. I'm gonna assume that your nephew wants both good noise cancellation (for drawing) and good transparency (for running), and that because he's running he also wants high water resistance for sweat and if he gets caught in a rainstorm when training, and I also assume that you're going to want to buy a flagship earbuds because cost is no issue and you want to impress him as a graduation gift. There are a lot of assumptions there! But based on these assumptions, I would go with the **Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro**. These are flagship earbuds, from a well known brand so you're not conveying that you're going for a value oriented brand option. And these came out relatively recently, so there is still some decent cachet and they haven't gone on sale much--so a nice this for a gift. As these are closed earbuds, fit/comfort may be an issue (this is really just individual specific), but otherwise, you will get better noise cancellation and transparency mode with the Buds4 Pro than most non-Apple buds. And they also have a higher IPX rating than many other flagships with an IP-57 rating (for example, the also recently launched Sony flagship, the XM6 only has IPX4) so more water-resistant than other flagships. And it has ~6 hours of battery life with ANC on, so that should easily cover half marathon and training times. The downsides to the Buds4 Pro is that a few features are locked behind using it with Samsung phones, there is no multiconnect support, it doesn't support all the codecs out there, and these are not going to be the pure "audiophile" sound quality play, but will be reasonably good for audio quality.
I like the pros 4 but disappointed that I can’t voice command to change a song or lower volume using an iPhone like I can with the buds pro 3.
I received my BP4 buds today. Comparing them to my BP3 buds I don't think they are worth the upgrade. I think the fit is slightly better, that's about it. Audio wise pretty much identical. The controls on the BP4 are worse. Trying to click the button 3 times is frustrating (I know it's not much better on the BP3 but IT IS easier) I also like the unique LED's on the BP3 (I realise that not everyone liked them but I do). If you are upgrading from much earlier models or from a different OEM then yes I would recommend the BP4 buds. They are comfortable and they sound excellent. But if like me you are happy with the Pro 3 buds then save your money. I am fortunate to be able to return mine.
