Regularly use some G2 IEMs in smaller packages. Such a solid RF link. 15+ years old! Use G3 & G4 mainly because of infrared sync. Unless looking for rider compliance no need to go elsewhere.
I did exactly that with a Sennheiser EW-300 IEM G3 setup, we used it in mono for a year or so before we got the second transmitter. It worked totally great! If you can’t afford a good quality wireless system, don’t get a cheap one. Get good quality in ear drivers and run a wired IEM system (like beginner P2) instead, until you can afford good wireless.
I’m obviously in the Zaxcom system. So my solution for lots of clients is one URX plugged into an IFB200 which then feeds how ever many ERX’s I need. The infamous ERX range problems become non existent because the transmitter is right there. The modded senny g3/4 is great though. Plus it always seems easy to source a few more if needed.
All the black variants peel. If you have a good DAC then get the polished variant imo, otherwise if youre okay with the peeling/chipping then the dsp version is good.
kefine quatio are a good allrounder. great build quality and accessories for the price point as well otherwise ew300 are the cheaper allrounder i'd go for "do not give me the depth and personality in music i am looking for" based on this statement hexa's i'd probably avoid for you as they're quite neutral, sounds like you want a more engaging signature
The Truthear Pure is absolutely that. Its very neutral yet warm signature is also a great base for EQing which is what you want to do if you want good sound for cheap. On the other hand the Ew300 is a bad base for EQing.
Ew300 is just an untasteful W-shaped iem. IML. Good neutral iems sound good. Neutral being boring is an odd narrative imo. It maybe comes from people who misassign the term "neutral"
Having an iem with a bad signature all across the board like the ew300 is worse than having a (maybe) relatively bass light neutral iem (Hexa/Pure) - it is very easy to EQ in a tasteful bass boost, OP has a dongle dac/amp with PEQ as well so thats not a problem. Hexa was my first iem, I loved it.
I have the ew300, it really doesnt matter, it will sound wayyyy better than that, the only downside is the mic, but still good
I tried out the EW300 at a store and it was one of my final two before I ended up choosing the S08. EW300 is a solid choice! I chose the S08 over the EW300 because it emphasized the treble less, and I saw myself getting tired of the treble after long listening sessions. For what it's worth, I listen to rock, dubstep, and pop.
