If you can spend a hundred bucks, there are several options for in-ear monitors with 30+ dB noise isolation. Sennheiser IE100 and Shure SE215 are pretty common, but there are cheaper options as well.

Rated for 26 dB passive noise reduction, yes.

I've had them and they're not bad, but I was unable to find replacement foam tips which kind of sucked. The Shure SE215 are pretty equivalent, but also easy to find replacement tips.

Sennheiser IE100pro, light, comfortable, durable, good enough to not feel like I compromise too much and cheap enough to be a "beater" headphone.

If you want real good, like really good headphones (at least in my opinion and everybody that tried them in my Presence) for not so expensive, you should consider the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro. They are really balanced in sound, comfortable for long hours due to pressure valves (or at least something, that has the same effect) but while being balanced the bass reaches reaaaally deep. Not loud but deep. Even the Sennheiser Momentum 4 could not quite match them.

I'm a musician and used reddit to check if I want to upgrade my in ear monitors from IE 100 to either 200, 600 or 900 because 100's are so overhyped at treble side and very weak on the low mids and I keep noticing that there are a lot of people who want to use IE line for critical listening and such applications. Even the reviewers on YT are not even musicans - they are either gamers or hobby music listeners. Do you know what IEM stands for? In Ear Monitoring. It is a product made for use on stage (most of times) and also off stage (for lets say mixing engineers, but those are usually much much costlier and custom tuned). IEM have pronounced frequencies so the listeners on stage can hear themself better using standard EQ of the send buss on the mixer. You should rather buy other type of headphones that are meant for listening purposes. I own momentum 2 BT buds and they are significantly better at producing a soundscape that was meant to be listened to while the record was made. Stop abusing IEM's as main headphones as they are other more suitable headphones for that task.

Our whole band uses IE100 for in ears. I also bought them but had problems with shitty sound from day 1. Always lacking bass and having harsh/pronounced highs. I then bought IE200 cuz I thought that they will be better then 100’s. Well not really. A bit more bassy but still lacking bass and having the same highs. And once again - those iem’s are built for special task called IN EAR MONITORING. They have pronounced trebles so instument players hear themselfs on a loud stage (except bass players). But I am not sure why are they built in that way that they lack bass. Probably to eliminate the muddines of bad in ear mixes. Either way… IE series of IEM’s are not good for listening to music / quite the opposite, they sound shitty. Period.

I have the IE 100 pro, they are great for longer listening sessions ( they are my sleeping buds), they have good soundstage and detail, bass is good but not to much , when I want more bass I use an EQ preset for HD560s on wavelet it elevates the bass. I hope that helps. Ps: I listen to metal and classical music ( I don't need EQ for classical music but for metal some technical death and black metal I do use EQ)

I use my Beyerdynamic T90 almost exclusively for gaming, and rarely my Arctis 7x (which I once bought for the Xbox and now use more in my home office for phone calls). I haven't tested my Hörluchs IEMs here yet, but I have tested my Sennheiser IE100 and my Stagediver SD-4, both of which sound significantly worse than my T90.

Hi, I don't find mine uncomfortable. The Sennheisers (IE100) are okay, the IE (SD4) fit really well and the customized ones are like a second skin. But in-ears are also limited by their size due to the very small drivers. 2 of my 3 earphones here have 3 drivers - all the cheaper ones don't even have that - and you are still limited by the design. You know, the downvotes don't bother me. I really have a lot of experience here and a lot of stuff at home for direct comparison. I'm trying to help, but that's Reddit. What you should never underestimate in the end: the personal taste of each individual.

I only have a set of IE200 and IE100 pros, IE200s are better, I have not listened to the rest, but the IE200 with a better cable would be my current go to Sennheiser IEM.

I have tried a bunch of other IEMs as well but the IE200s are just very very comfortable for longer sessions, that was my main reason. my IE100 pros, the cable started breaking and I could not find a replacement cable for a decent price, so just upgraded to the IE200s, the shape of shell is honestly perfect.

for the Sennheiser you don't get much different earpieces. I switched from the Sennheiser IE100 to the Shure SE215 myself for that reason. The Shure have really a boatload of earpieces because they use a standard format and there are many 3rd party earpieces that fit too. In the SE215 package there are those christmas tree like styled earpieces. I like those most. A year ago I upgraded to the SE535.. next upgrade would probably be a custom fit

I think if you can afford custom, do it. I have the Sennheiser IE 400 pro and they are great, but don't have the same dampening a custom can give you. For a cheap one I recommend the Sennheiser 100 pro but for a few bucks more the 400 has much better sound quality for me as a drummer. You can also get a subwoofer in your drum throne that is great. I think people call it a butt blaster but that could just be their own term🤔

Buy Sennheiset IE100 or Shure SE215 You can listen to music and they block out 90% of outside noise. I have been using them for 7 years now

If you use Sennheiser or Shure in ears then you get a boatload of earpieces that you can try. For me, the medium or large foam pieces be shure fit the best. They block 90% of outside noise. Will be the same with Sennheiser. Sennheiser IE100 are a good cheap version, so are the Shure SE215

Sennheiser IE 100s. They rock. Stay in place superbly. The part that goes over the ear is a flex material so you can really hook them on.
