Everyone has their own opinions, the ShozyP20 is a good planar but planars have their own particularities is not that simple to compare both you may enjoy their sound or not. In the case of the Explorer a 1dd+2bas for under 100 has a great bass but mids and treble are meh, is a good iem but is very far from being an upgrade, beside the size i still don't find a bad review of the Hydro considering its price range. Just enjoy your iem, of course there are much better options but not in its price range.
r/iems ⢠CCA Hydro ->Shozy P20 is on 50% off at linsoul at the moment and would be my planar pick. It's excellent, my favourite planar I have tried (I had the KZ PR2 (poor tonality/timbre) and nicehck F1 pro (better than KZ but way too much treble, really zizzy)).
r/iems ⢠SGOR Luna, TRN Rosefinch, NiceHCK F1 pro, KZ PR3, KZ PRX, which one to buy? ->Interested to hear your take. I also have the shozy P20 and rate it highly (much better than kz PR2 and nicehck F1 pro)
r/iems ⢠What's an IEM related purchase you do not regret splurging for? ->I'd recommend checking out some reviews of the Shozy P20. Fairly similar tuning to the Letshuoer S08 (think warm planar) but seems to be 50% off RRP these days which makes it an affordable budget choice. Good planar in my opinion, nice full-metal build. I personally really like the skinny cable it comes with too. They're easy to drive, you wouldn't need to buy a powerful dongle dac or dap to use them.
r/iems ⢠Best out of these as my first iem ??? ->Interesting driver config - I'm not sure that I like microplanars though. I felt like there was something off with the EW300 treble, but I don't know if it was the PZT or microplanar. My feeling is that I prefer a full-scale planar like in the Shozy P20, than a micro version though. Know of any hybrid sets that are just DD and microplanar?
r/iems ⢠What was your first IEM, and do you still use it? ->Shozy P20 is my choice over the Hexa. I need to EQ a bit of warmth out, but other than that, it's class for details, bass and tonality.
r/iems ⢠Is there a better Hexa? ->shozy p20's bass is really good too, but there's just something in the lower mids and treble are missing. i don't know what it is but it's a bit lacking. i was talking to someone and they said your ears need to get adjusted to planars but something around 220hz, that low A, is really weird. I don't hear it on any other set. Other than that it's a really good set- not msrp good, but good for the the 80 linsoul has it up. dynaquattro needs a bit more power to drive, and what i'm hearing contradicts the graphs, that sub bass isn't there as much as in the shozy p20s. I don't feel that rumble as much as the shozys actually, but everything else is really good, **very** smooth, and the highs on dynaquattro is super clear, violins sound amazing and picking out those upper instruments are super easy. accessories: get better eartips for the dynaquattro? they really hurt when i was using them initially. p20s do come with softer eartips so i'm quite happy with that. the cable is fine, personally I'm not a fan of thick cables but it is termination changeable. p20's cable is pretty cheap feeling and very light but it helps to minimize microphonics. taking my iems with me on a walk, cables tend to jump around and I'm able to hear the tapping of the cable. songs tested: Lorne Balfe - Academy Race Galdive - Prelude Ludwig Goransson - Can You Hear The Music also, xuanwu gate for -250? HOW???
r/iems ⢠Share your Spring Sale Purchase!!! ->Shozy P20. However, it's not as comfortable because of the odd shell design, and mine has some driver flex. The S08 will probably be comfortable for nearly everyone who tries it, and is built like a tank. I tend to suggest it for anyone coming from a DD setup that wants to try a planar, even though I prefer the sound of the Shozy P20 by 10-15%.
r/iems ⢠Is the Letshuoer S08 good? ->Letshuoer S08 or Shozy P20 would be my pick for what you're suggesting. The EW300 is great, but not everyone likes the combo of microplanar+piezoelectric for mids and treble.
r/iems ⢠Budget Planars vs 1DD/Hybrids ->If you ask me, my best purchases: - Aoshida e20, Quintet(not on the list, since i gave it away), Pilgrims, Shozy p20, HBB Punch and the Mystic 8(not in the list since its New and im testing). It covers most needs, and it's 1 set of each kind. Missing a Bone conductor but still indecisive of which one.
r/iems ⢠I think Iām done for 2025 ->IMO, the best technical perfomance under 300 you can get is from, Planars IEMs altho they need more power to shine, with the Aether, Shozy P20 and F1 Pro the best bang for your buck and with the rest of ur money get a KA15 or Dawn Pro portable dac. After that the Juzear 61t and the Perfomer5+2 are on a deal right now for spring sale, which makes them my 2nd best choices
r/iems ⢠Best IEMs under $200 for audio quality ->I rock my planar iem for that Shozy P20. You cant get the technical performance on par with them(2nd option F1 Pro) unless you go to the 300+ iems, Layla Live is amazing. Only if you have a dac already and willing to go with 4.4mm. If not The EW300s dsp version.
r/iems ⢠IEM Recommendation for live & listening ->Go with any of the Planars, Shozy P20, F1 Pro or the New Aether. They will be like ur headphones but in steroids for half the price of what Hybrids can deliver I terms of sound quality.
r/iems ⢠iems for under $100 switching from headphones ->The Shozy P20, I still would recommend it over my P7 and Juzear61t. Planars take EQ like beasts and IMO can beat most iems under 300dlls if you feed them enough power. I have the Quintet also, good purchase my friend.
r/iems ⢠Hidden Gems - What's the most underrated IEM in your collection? ->The new Aether is "supposly" the best right now. But after trying maybe 10, Shozy P20 been my favorite planar, I'll compare it in 1 week to the Aether when delivered.

r/iems ⢠What's an IEM related purchase you do not regret splurging for? ->Direct upgrade to the Hydro, IMO are planars (ShozyP20 and F1 Pro) delivering the best price to performance until you hit the 300dlls, which open ALOT of options. The Hydro is just below the EW300s and Explorer IMO in technical perfomance. The Planars I recommend you are easily 1 or 2 steps above it. Edit to answer ur questions.
r/iems ⢠CCA Hydro ->Shozy P20 and F1 Pro. Are my go to recommendations, they will most likely beat anything in your price range.
r/iems ⢠Do I need new iems for the Ifi Go Link Max? ->Send me a PM I'll send you the poweramp settings I use for mine. While not perfectly it's a good start for you to try and find ur tuning i made it very "meta" and several ppl like it. - Edit: like I said below Planar iem take EQ like a champ. And they are perfectly to test different IEMs tuning for future buys . I have the Shozy P20 and the Aether and I'm very happy with them. It's sad u have a bad experience with them.
r/iems ⢠Letshuoer s12 arrived, not what i expected. ->Yes they 2024 version is 10 times better tuned. But the main thingnwith planars is their are ur gate way to EQ, they handle it pretty well, the Shozy p20 and the f1 pro have a more bass oriented tuning and they are my go to to try different tuning with EQ.
