Probably Softears Twilight, not cheep, but tuning really speaks to me. Juzear 61T Butterfly has beautiful natural non-offensive sound, great for the price if twilight is too expensive. Aroma Jewel is truly special but at $6k not sure it is worth it for average joe. (I’m looking at Simgot 142 (planar) and Pula Anvil. 142 as an alternative to sold out S12 2024; and Anvil as an alternative to more aggressively tuned BGVP DMA for bone conduction experience. However, I have not yet bought these nor had any extensive playing time with them. Ask me in a few months.) Flatheads: BGVP DX7 Headphones closed back: Focal Azurys Headphones open back: Audio-Technica rGX3000 TWS: Apple AirPods 2, Technics AZ100 and Noble Audio Focus REX 5 I like lots of metal, percussion, Detroit Techno, modern jazz. Tight punchy midbass and warmer tuning is my preference.

Twilight is a straight upgrade over kima2. Everything gets better with Twilight. But you need to push volume into Twilight. Bass has more definition, mids sound warm, extremely enjoyable male Vocals, female vocals like Hikaru Udata sounds sweet although not correct. Treble has sparkle in high vol. In low vol kinda sounds dead. Twilight's biggest strength is how 3d it sounds. The sound actually has depth. Kinda like a speaker for ears. For me personally Twilight & EJ07 are forever sets. Kima2 sounds extremely good as well. Not resolving like ea1000. But sweet & musical, very much mid-centric, something that you can use for as long as you want to.

Softears Twilight. Comfy, natural, immersive sound, best staging I have heard, feels like a cross between IEMs and flatheads in openness.

Softears Twilight. Comforting, natural and immersive sound, not a large shell, minimal occlusion effect. Handles most of my playlist well.

SoftEars Twilights are my favorite all-rounder single DD at the moment.

Interesting. I've tried the OG Kimas, Zen, Zen Pro, Falcon, Falcon Ultra, etc, but after buying the Twilights I have been trying significantly fewer single DD sets because the Twilights are basically perfect for my preferences.

I wouldn’t mod any IEMs to be open back as that will mess the FR up a lot. Check out Softears Twilight, amazing IEM though a bit pricy

r/iemsI am seeking advice for an upgrade: Is "Chi-Fi" the best way to go?

You nailed that. Cheaper multi drivers aren’t nearly as resolving as those that are running branded drivers might. As well, compared to your IE200, a Softears Twilight, or Timsok TS -316 will blow your mind for single DD. You can spend too much money on IEM’s sure, and some that are expensive could be better for the price. I have found that most 100 dollar IEMs perform similarly. Some have more sparkle or bass, most have mods that are muddier than you would find for some more money. For your price point a Softears RSV MK2 would fit well for preferences. A great all BA with 5 drivers. I have a lot of IEM’s and have sold even more of them. Nothing beats a great pair aligned to a good source with the right amount of power.

if you got the budget, Softears Twilight is the best natural vocal set imo. it feels like the singer singing beside you. but if its too pricey kato will do the job

It was the softears twilight for my taste in electronic music

It's the best IEM I've tested for electronic music. The presentation is full-bodied, rich, and consistently impressive without any harshness or fatigue. It outperforms most 64 Audio models, several Campfire options, and is clearly better than the Mega 5EST. If your library is primarily electronic music, it's a perfect choice at 750 dollars. It's also the only IEM I rated a full 10 out of 10 during my testing of more than fifty units at Headphone Connect.
