Tangzu Bajie are seriously underrated. Great set that competes with iems twice the price. These have excellent bass and are bass-head audiophile earphones. I also like the Tangzu XuanWu gate, which is more neutral and does not have as much bass, but enough. It has a smaller dynamic driver. The packaging on these is out of this world, btw, truly top tier.

Thats so interesting to hear, because I have the Bajie too and love them. Not many people know them. Never heard the other two but since everybody is talking about them I'm curious. Couldn't imagine them to be so much better. So maybe they're not

I'd say Tanchjim Origin and Elysian Pilgrim are the best on that list for soundstage size (pilgrim has slightly better separation but origin is no slouch). Braindance (and, by extension, the Dita Project M) I personally love but wouldn't recommend because it seems to be quite anatomy dependent (some people find its treble god awful while others love it. If you can get it from Amazon or a store that let's u return it then maybe go for it). Tangzu bajie is on Shenzhenaudio and linsoul for around 510usd rn and that can be a consideration (I typically like neutral to neutral-bright but that iem blew me away). I actually like dusk in analog the most and its midrange is beautiful imo (especially vocals)

I prefer Bajie's fitment. The sheer shell size is larger than Punch, but the shape and nozzle angle fits my ears better.

Those are different tuning wise. Vocals are a bit more forward with Bajie. Bass is also weaker. The BC drivers in Bajie works really well if you have a good fit. They add a bit of fullness and sound stage to the already good tuning. One trick I learned from reviewers is using impedance adapters to crank up subbass. You can boost Bajie's subbass to a 12-15db shelf with a 30 Ohm adapter. For the sheer size of that DD (14.2mm), it actually puts out the best quality bass.

Demoed Thieaudio Origin, Monarch Mk3, and Tangzu Bajie at my local store. I somehow like Bajie the most among the 3 so that is what I got. It’s not a kilobuck but can definitely compete with other choices in the price range.

I came across your Bajie review on Head-fi after demoing them. I actually got that “livehouse” feeling you described when trying them, but couldn’t put my finger on it. Afterwards I also checked some Hong Kong reviews and they are talking about the same stuff. I’d say it’s a unique experience and definitely worth the 599 price tag (I got them for less than 400 though, bargain of the year).

2024 was an exciting year for me and all fellow audiophiles. So many great IEMs with unimaginable value. Here are 8 of my favorite sets from my ~15 sets collection. Right to left, top to bottom: ISN EBC80, HiSenior Mega5EST Bass + (custom design), Tangzu Zhu Bajie, Kiwi Ears Punch, Xenns Mangird Tea Pro, DUNU DaVinci, Ziigaat Estrella, AFUL Performer 5+2 Honorable mention: AFUL Explorer (best first IEM IMO), Ziigaat Arete (best gaming IEM IMO), Simgot Supermix 4 (best all-rounder IMO). I'm excited for what 2025 will bring us. Hopefully better sets with lower prices.

I think the socket is designed for the stock recessed 2pin length, so some flat 2pin cables won't fit perfectly. I have tried a Xinhs flat 2pin cable with my set and it fits flush. Not sure why though. The bone conduction is indeed less effective than some other sets like EBC80. It's subtle but does add a bit of fullness to the sound signature. I'd say Bajie is almost on par with, albeit slightly loses to EBC80 in terms of resolution. However one can get Bajie for around 400-500USD during sales, so the value is unbeatable (EBC80 is 700). The versatility of Bajie is also impressive as I'm using them with impedance adapter to boost the bass by around 5db.

Hey, nice collection! I have some questions 😄 I own the bajie, iam wondering if you have the same “issue”, I’m trying aftermarket cables, the pins are longer than the original one leaving some part of the pins exposed, the iem has flat connectors, should be compatible with all cables, is it just my female connectors or what ? 😅 Another question would be the bone conduction, I never had one so I don’t know what to expect but I wouldn’t say I feel them, what’s your opinion on that And the last the rabbit hole question, how they stack up to the rest? Is there something you recommend over them ?
